Full Time Travel Family Caravanning Australia!
My name is Samantha and along with my Husband Tom and two daughters Mila and Cali, we are the faces behind @ourwanderinghearts (Instagram)
Tom and I first went travelling in 2016 and fell in LOVE with adventuring through different Countries and pushing our comfort zones to stretch further each day. Upon returning from our first 6 month backpacking adventure we became Entrepreneurs and haven't looked back since. In February 2023 we packed up our home and moved into a caravan to travel Australia full time with our 6 month old and 2.5 year old girls.
Working for ourselves has allowed us to go travelling on and off for the last 6 years and we're so excited to share with you our experiences we have had in the past and to vlog our future Family travels
Thanks for being here! xx

Ebikes are the best invention haha! I use ours with a trailer on the back for the kids and they love it. Looked like a fun day!
Honestly I don’t think I’ll want to ride a normal bike ever again 😂 that’s awesome, very tempted to buy some for us to hook onto our caravan!
It was hard to move with a lot of luggage. When you come to Japan next time, I recommend you to use a home delivery service if possible. You have a very nice family.
Yes it was hard! The reason we didn’t do the luggage delivery service was because we needed the baby cot before it could arrive at night 🫣
Hi guys. Just wanted to let you know ants HATE peppermint oil. Wipe down or dap the corners with oil and it should help with the ant problem. Also dab a bit of baby oil on you when you are around a lot of mozzies. I'm planning on travelling full-time with my kids loved watching this the good and the bad THANK YOU 💗
Oh good to know! Thank you 🙏🏼 I get so worried about what we use because our girls touch basically every nook and cranny 😂 How exciting! Where are you planning on starting?
@@ourwanderingheartstv oh I know kids get into everything 🤣 I live in GC , grew up in nsw so I'm thinking to Start the trip going south by the time I leave nsw I should be feeling more comfortable to continue on , I have 3 girls 8,3&1so it's a test to see if I can keep my sanity 🤣 I'm so glad to see another young family travelling definitely the push I need!
wow! We visited recently (video coming soon)! It's so stunning isn't it!! Love the style of your guys videos btw!!
It’s amazing! We were so lucky to get good weather, we’ve had rain since this week 😂
And thank you! 🙏🏼
@@ourwanderingheartstv Ah no! Yes the weather definately makes a difference! Hope you have a good time on your travels!
@@ourwanderingheartstv No problem!!
Just wanted to say I've been binge watching your videos 🤭 and I loved this one! Seeing a week in the life of the mundane jobs but in a caravan is really cool. We are planning to sell everything and upgrade our caravan to live in full time in a few short months. We have 2 littlies in tow as well, we are all very excited 🎉 it's been a big dream of ours and finally making it a reality soon!! I love seeing what you guys get up to and taking some inspo. We currently live in QLD, our adventure will start in Melbourne for a couple months over summer and than we'll the rest we will figure out as we go haha. Steph x
Haha thank you! Glad you liked it, I had a lot of fun while vlogging this week 😂 it was pretty chaotic and thankfully most weeks aren’t normally this crazy! But things still happen of course… How exciting! Have you decided on a caravan yet or buying second hand? Melbourne is a great choice for over the summer and make sure you don’t skip Tassie in all of your planning, it’s so beautiful 🫶🏻
@ourwanderingheartstv Haha you did so well! Your travel vlog style vidoes are unreal but it is so fun to see the day to day stuff too. Like reality of living in a caravan, I'm not looking forward to changing caravan bunk beds 🤣 what a mission! Yes second hand, nothing in particular as far as the model. But we definitely need bunks, toilet/shower and added bonus if it has a dishwasher haha what a luxury! So handy. Oh and yess Tasssie would be amazing to see. Is it relatively easy to head over there from VIC? 🫶🏻
I agree, I always like to see people's realities especially when it's something I am thinking of doing myself! Helps you to get a picture of what it will really be like :) Nice, haha yes the dishwasher has been a game changer! But if your kitchen bench is big enough at least you'll be able to wash up ok Yeah it was super easy, you have to book the Spirit of Tasmania (MONTHS in advance!) and it can be pricey but it was so worth it. It's a 8-12 hr journey and the seas can be pretty rough but again - worth it! We got lucky and had smooth sailing
@ourwanderingheartstv Haha so true!! I'm sure it comes with its challenges like anything. We are so ready to sell everything, live very simple and have tons of time in nature. Sounds great, we will definitely check out if Tassie is somewhere we would like to go. We want to travel up to Cairns at some point,I love the tropical weather 😅 I look forward to seeing what your little family get up to!! X
Couldn’t agree more!
Glad you think so! 🥰
Has anyone ever said to you something crazy like this? It always makes me laugh when someone says this… kids are so adaptable! They’ll go wherever you take them and have a blast while doing it
Your home is so lovely. I've always wondered, when you buy something online what address do you give? How does the mail work for you?
We stay at caravan parks and move every Saturday so if I need to have anything delivered I just give the caravan park address and the reception lets me know when they’ve arrived :) otherwise you could do P.O. Box drop offs with Australia Post or Amazon Post Box if it’s with them
What a lovely caravan that seems so spacious. I’m amazed that you have space for so many kitchen appliances. I think that it’s great that you have the dishwasher - is a great time saver and keeps your bench tops free for other things!
It’s been so great to have the huge bench space! The layout makes it feel so spacious inside and we love it. And the dishwasher has been so good 👌🏼 thanks for watching!
What do you think about adding a dishwasher to our caravan? Overkill? Super necessary?
The background music is Chinese. Terrible! 背景音楽が中国だ。最低!
Great and helpful video, I look forward to checking out your other videos too. Great that you gave actual times to walk and drive things especially with toddlers, which I have too
Thank you so much! Happy to have helped, it’s things I wish I knew ☺️
What an amazing birthday present! Amazing memories that will last you a lifetime, I’m sure! Thank you for sharing your travels with us❤

Tyre pressures really help on sand. Could be around 12 psi for that sand. Thank the gods for max trax
Oh wow that’s much lower than we thought! Ours were 20psi 😂
Okay, massive difference between 18 psi and 14 and more of a massive difference between 12 to 14 psi
Spent a little time in Arkaroola and Balcanoona , Magical skies
Ohhh the sunsets and sunrises are something else aren’t they 🥰
How beautiful 😊
We felt very loved 🥰
It's not a deer park. It's a park where wild deer gather.
Yes I did word it wrong :)
You are making amazing content but, you have to work on the title, description, tags, keywords, and other sections for better visibility of your videos. I can fix this

Oh, still ugly and empty then. Speaking as a South Australian, fly over it. It’s pretty from the air.
Ugly?! I’m not sure we’re looking at the same thing 😍
@@ourwanderingheartstv Oh? Pretty sure I had to walk through it once. But at least someone likes it, I guess.
Probably one of the most spectacular places in Australia and I have seen most of aus.... You call it ugly and empty, yet it's full of life. And beautiful scenery.
@@dodgyhodgie734 well, as I said earlier, I guess someone has to like it.
Some of these ranges look like giants fallen. Have you ever notice that when you see a mountain lying down and then you upright it, the nose, the eyes, the chin, and then the face as though death has come on them- then a fossilize body becomes a range or a mountain or a woman as an island. (check it out yourself- was their a war?
That’s an interesting perspective and I can see how you can sort of picture it there!
I `m in a city in Japan which convenience stores are everywhere, I couldn't say anything when I saw this video of great nature! thank you!
I know what you mean, I hope the video showed you a little piece of nature here in Australia 🥰
Looks like a great hike. The kids did so well
They did great, although Mila was desperate to walk herself the whole way 😅
What a beautiful scenery my friend, stunning storytelling 👏
Thank you so much! It was such a stunning hike 👌🏼
The natural scenery of New Zealand and Australia is majestic and overwhelming!😄 Cali, She 's very very cute to say that broccoli, cauliflower, and carrot!
You’re right, it’s a beautiful part of the world over here 🥰 Aw thank you! We think she is very funny and clever
Great video, loved the editing too!
Thanks so much! Means a lot 🥰
Japan's original country name NIPPON means "country under (or of) the sun," but the traditional name of the country when the capital was here in Nara was YAMATO (WA). YAMATO (Dai-WA) means "land of great peacefull harmony (between people and nature.)“ For about 1,300 years since the Emperor established the capital of Japan in Nara, deer have been traditionally cherished as messengers of the sacred gods of this island nation blessed with greenish nature, until the present day. Deer do not live in Nara Park all day, nor do they appear to be kept in captivity. They are wild deer. At night, the deer return to the mountains to sleep. During the day, they come down to the park to feed and relax. Their daily rotation seems to be like that. They are regarded as sacred animals, messengers of the gods, because of a legend that when one of the four gods enshrined at Kasuga Taisya Shrine in Nara moved from the shrine in Ibaraki to the land of Yamato (Nara), the deer protected and led the god along the way and brought him to this place. For 1,300 years, people have been told not to bully the deer, the messengers of the gods. The deer know from generation to generation, that humans think so and people did not harm them, so even though the city has changed its appearance, the wild deer still feel safe and comfortable living here and they live together with people without fear of them in Nara. We are often asked what we do with deer droppings. The deer in Nara Park are not domesticated, but have been wild deer since ancient times. They return to the mountains at night to sleep and come down to the park at sunrise. Their staple food is the grass and turf in the park. Deer droppings amount to 300 tons per year, but we humans don't care much about deer droppings. The reason is that the park is inhabited by a large number of insects called "dung beetles," which digest deer feces as their staple food. The dead bodies of the dung beetles are digested by earthworms and microorganisms and returned to the soil, where they become fertilizer for the deer's staple food, grass. Since ancient times, this place has been kept clean and free from terrible stench by natural circulation in its natural state, not artificially. The name of the country of Japan when the capital was located in Nara 1300 years ago was "YAMATO" or "WA". (Great harmony between human and nature.) As the name suggests, it is truly a city where man and nature have been in harmony for a long time. So every foreign visitors to Nara need to be aware of the deer in Nara Park are "wild deer", not zoo deer managed by the government. Therefore, it is dangerous to touch them or treat them as if they were domesticated pets. We don't know what parasites or diseases they may carry. It is very dangerous to kiss them directly. The right way to treat them is to live with them as if they were part of the natural scenery, like watching wild birds, like the people who have lived in Nara since ancient times. The Internet does not have a corrective function, so incorrect information is disseminated. There is no “Deer Park in Nara.” in Japan. The correct term is “Deer in Nara Park” or “Wild deer that congregate in Nara Park. Please do not be mistaken, and the risk of trouble with the deer is your own responsibility. because They are wild deer.
That was a really interesting read, thank you so much for your insight!
@@ourwanderingheartstv Thanks for your reply.
That’s so sweet!❤❤❤
I literally watch all of your videos all day everyday now! Your little ones and the Journeys that youve been on really touches my heart❤
That is so kind! Thank you Caela 🥰
🌸奈良の鹿さんに優しくしてくれてありがとうございます。Good job kids. 鹿は神の使いとして奈良市民に大切にされています。またのお越しをお待ちしております。良い旅を Have a nice trip. またね~ See you again.✨
Of course, the deer were very gentle when they weren’t tempted by the rice crackers and the girls had so much fun watching them 🥰
You are doing yoga in the short time in the morning which is wonderful. In Japan, there is a belief that spiders are a welcome insect, so if it's a small spider, we sometimes leave it alone. If it is not a poisonous spider, of course.😅
Thank you! I always rescue the spiders but I definitely don’t leave them roaming around the caravan at free will 😅 you never know where they’ll go…
じゃあ来るな‼️
Sorry I don’t understand what you mean ☺️

Thanks ☺️
What a beautiful part of Aus 🔥
Soo good! We were so glad we went 🥰
Of course, the strawberry tart is not Japanese traditional treat, but it is a kind of common and popular one. Perhaps we don't have many flavors of tart because we know only straberry, blueberry or ,,,pumpkin? I'm sorry you got many comments of music. It is not important though.
Thank you! I think the tart was delicious either way! 🥰
That look so Beautiful!! Wow
It really took us by surprise! A very pretty part of Australia ☺️
@@ourwanderingheartstvI have been living in Australia For a very long time but I was originally born and raised in Germany so I haven't ever actually been there before but wow !!
