Trying to understand if I need an inverter or converter in my trailer. It will be hooked up to a generator 90% of the time. At night I’ll turn the generator off and still need some interior lights, outlet for a phone charger etc. The trailer will need AC and DC power but I would like to charge the batteries while the generator is running and when driving down the road through the trailer/truck plug if that’s possible. Does this require an inverter or converter? Thank you 👍

Do you need batteries, or can I disconnect them while on shore power??
@this-mobile-lifeАй бұрын
Hey. This really depends on how your RV is built. The batteries often run your low voltage (12V) devices such as lights, control panels, etc. Some RVs have a convertor that converts shore power into 12V while plugged in, while also charging the battery. Normally, the battery(s) are left connected all the time while using the RV in most RVs.

There are options starting at $70k and up depending what type of property you buy and what amenities are included (water, sewer, electric, concrete pad, deck, RV port, etc). Many of these are listed on the local MLS real estate sites like realtor.com, redfin.com, etc.

Thank you ❤ Question: when I’m plugged into shore power, what do I need to know about my batteries? I assumed, the batteries would not be used at all and just the power from the park. What battery maintenance do I do when plugged in? 😊
@this-mobile-life3 ай бұрын
Hello! The answer to this question somewhat depends on how your RV’s electrical system is setup. In general, whether you have a converter or inverter, when hooked up to shore power your batteries will be charging or kept topped off. Certain things in your RV will always run from your batteries, like your lights for example (12 volt). But, when hooked up to shore power, the use of 12 volt electrical devices such as lights will either pull from your batteries or from your converter. Either way, the shore power will normally replenish the power pulled from the batteries and/or just convert the shore power to 12 volt to run these devices. As far as maintenance goes, this also depends on what type of batteries you have. If you have lithium batteries, they are pretty much maintenance free, outside of checking the connections from time to time to make sure they are clean and tight on the batteries. If you have more traditional lead acid batteries, you’ll also need to top off the distilled water in the batteries from time to time.

When we look at the Zion Canyon we see many horizontal layers on top of each other but close-ups of these layers also show that they are completely separated from each other and the layers look rather homogeneous. How is this possible? Each layer is the effect of a recurring natural disaster, a huge tidal wave that is pulled over the planet, that is caused by a celestial body that circles our sun in an eccentric orbit. A thick layer of homogeneous mud remains on our planet. Fantasy? No, ancient knowledge that is available in books, legends, myths and religions. The many earth layers are solid proof for this recurring disaster. No scientist will agree to this because they all are focused on their small part of science. They know a lot about a little. Those natural disasters occur in a cycle of seven and create a cycle of five civilizations. The longest living civilization lives no more than 10,800 years. Nonsense? No, ancient knowledge and that knowledge is supported by many depictions that we find in museums on statues, cylinder seals, coins etc. The last time that this celestial body, planet X or nine, was seen and depicted and commented was just before our era. To learn much more about planet 9, the recurring flood cycle and its timeline, the rebirth of civilizations and ancient high technology, read the e-book: "Planet 9 = Nibiru". Sorry to hear you’ve had many issues with your Tiffin! Outside of the front cap issue, our unit was pretty solid and our experience with Tiffin staff has been pretty good. We had the fabric on our couches start to peel and fall apart. This was a common issue from the years around when our RV was built. We were the second owners, with no warranty left. After a couple of emails to Tiffin, they sent us replacement fabric for FREE to fix it. We had to do it ourselves or pay someone to replace the fabric, but they provided the material for free. We opted to do it ourselves and it turned out great.

If you are just cutting and coupling the cable back together, you don't need to do the wiring diagram. Just follow the standard crimping layout is fine. The custom wire order is only if you want to use it with a 12v POE injector.
@this-mobile-life2 ай бұрын
Great call out! We wired ours following the POE injector wiring in case we switch over from the Starlink power supply to a 12V POE power supply. Its been working great ever since the upgrade, and we're ready to make the switch when we get a POE power supply. Know of any good ones?
@malimish2 ай бұрын
@@this-mobile-life on my other channel I have a video on the complete conversion to 12v. If you can get one, I recommend the Dishy Dualie. Been using one for about 6 months and it's great. But there are some things you need to be aware of which I'm in the process of doing a follow up video for. Btw, you only need the custom wiring if you use a poe injector that isn't specifically designed for starlink like the popular Tycon unit. Otherwise standard wiring is still what you want like the Dishy Dualie, the YaoSheng or any other POE that is made specifically for Starlink. Be careful because you can fry the dish if 48v power is sent down the wrong wire. kzread.info/dash/bejne/h6yWsrmwmJrKodY.html

@this-mobile-life3 ай бұрын
Hello, yes, there is an internal ground/drain wire. We choose to use the connector we did because it specifically has a grounding connection on each end of the connector, that allows this ground/drain wire to maintain continuity when coupled together. Many of the other connectors available are only plastic and do not have the metal shielding and ability to connect the ground wire.

Hello, using drones comes with a lot of regulation, licensing, and permits; especially around National Parks. While I used to be a Part 107 certified drone pilot, I no longer am, as well as no longer own a drone. We did not shoot the drone footage ourselves, rather we used a stock video service that had drone shots available for purchase to add to our video.

Oh my, I have a 2013 31SA, I truly wonder about the Tiffin quality. I repaired many items and I cuss the hell out of the Tiffin employees!
Great call out! We wired ours following the POE injector wiring in case we switch over from the Starlink power supply to a 12V POE power supply. Its been working great ever since the upgrade, and we're ready to make the switch when we get a POE power supply. Know of any good ones?
I followed your guide, but you didn't go far into detail for the pinout of the other end. It's identical, right? OW-O-BW-G-GW-B-BrW-Br ... I don't need to reverse them? I followed the guide. It'll power up, but I have no data... Just says "Offline." Thanks for the insight. (same bumper connector you purchased and passthrough ends)
Did you get this working?
I thought their was an internal ground/drain wire that had to be grounded ?
Hello, yes, there is an internal ground/drain wire. We choose to use the connector we did because it specifically has a grounding connection on each end of the connector, that allows this ground/drain wire to maintain continuity when coupled together. Many of the other connectors available are only plastic and do not have the metal shielding and ability to connect the ground wire.
thanks
Welcome!
Did you use drone ? Is yes how did you get the permit?
Hello, using drones comes with a lot of regulation, licensing, and permits; especially around National Parks. While I used to be a Part 107 certified drone pilot, I no longer am, as well as no longer own a drone. We did not shoot the drone footage ourselves, rather we used a stock video service that had drone shots available for purchase to add to our video.
The road looks to be as crappy as it was the last time I pedaled up it about 5 years ago, haha! I hope you all enjoy (or enjoyed) your time here in Colorado.
Wow! That’s an impressive bike ride, rough road or smooth! We are loving our time in Colorado and are so happy to have you along for the journey! If you have any must-see recommendations, please send them our way. 😁
Charli - “whaaatttt” 😆😂🤣
It was great! LOL
