I would like too see that setup in windy and rainy weather...?
Ok @msr but how do you repare poles between the 3 connectors thing ?
Will this fit on a Nalgene Bottle?
1:25 how are you able to reach this attachment point? 1:37 how to attach the wires to the tent correctly? how do you pack it up afterward? This is more of an advert than actual instructional video....
MSR Team, you have convinced me for the third time. I ˋ m looking forward to the new Hubba Hubba Bikepack Tent .🤗⛺️
What the.... is the jet a 3d printer nozzle :)
Why make the pump plastic? Plastic threads strip too easily. Msr should make a pump option that is full metal. Would totally pay extra for the added security
what t f ?!? the inner tent and then the outer tent ??? i cant believe that is true - nobody who was on an outdoor trip would do or buy somethin like that ... what do u do if its rainin ??? everytime u have to setup the outer tent 1st and then the inner tent - so nothing will com in the inner tent that shouldnt ...
Is the leaking issue fixed already on MSR tents? At one point they were just expensive sun shades.
If you use both the mesh house and the tarp, are you using 6 stakes or 12?
SKILLS!!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Such a great tip!
Im having a hard time to pull out the fuel cable line. Can anyone suggest a good solution?
I have 7 Whisperlites, so I know what you are experiencing. Pull it out using pliers (take care not to pinch the cable). If it just will not come out, remove the jet and needle, and drip several drops of a 50/50 mix of acetone and auto transmission fluid into the fuel line at the jet end. Let the line sit, with the generator end above the fuel line for a couple hours to overnight. Tapping the fuel line every so often helps release any air. Try to pull it out again. If it doesn't want to budge repeat the 50/50 mix process. Let it sit and try pulling it out again. After the cable is out, using a syringe or carefully dripping, either work some acetone into the fuel line with the cable or flush the fuel line with acetone which will evaporate quickly. Wipe the cable very well with a clean rag. Put a drop of mineral oil (baby oil or pump lube) on it then wipe it again. Put a drop of mineral oil into the fuel line then reinsert the cable. Be sure not to fully insert the cable into the fuel line, leave about 1/4 to 3/8 inch out. Cable may be tough to insert around the generator and pliers may be useful
Ive owned one for a 150 years...works great on mars too
How do I dry the filter after a trip.
Hey @MSRGear, I am able to push air trough a new filter, tho I am blowing really hard as mentioned in the other comments.. Could we get an answer about this please?
Cant find thé same foot print
I was about to purchase some of your water purifier products until I saw all the terrible reviews.
My Hubba Hubba leaks like a sieve and MSR customer service basically threw up their hands and said "Not our problem". My NF and REI tents do not leak. Do not buy MSR tents unless you want junk and poor customer service.
Seriously, what does the wick really do? It came pretty much uncover out of my box.
Soaks up the priming fuel
would white gas in the whisperlite burn to hot for this and the cermic pot
I got this. Used it a few times, and now it produces only a blue flame that blows off just looking at it. Very expensive, and stopped working after light use a few times, boiling water. Not worth the money at all. I tried to contact MSR from europe, impossible.
I can’t use mine for measurement, I have looked around but with no luck. Where can I find them for hubba hubba nx?
Ok so you are showing how to readjust the fibres if they get messed up a little. Title is misleading. Back to look for a video that actually is about repairing holes, not thread smushiness.
This guys voice is amazing. It reminded me of the song "Everybody's Free (To Wear Sunscreen)", also known as "The Sunscreen Song". This is a genuine compliment.
@Msr: could you please update your only product video of this tent? This video is from 2017 🫣😬 Today we are in 2024. Hasn t you developped your tent since than??
I've spent days scrubbing off the flaking seam tape that fell in my tent like dandruff so I could reseal it with Gear Aid Seam Grip. I thought I'd done a great job and then the tap starts going on the fly and I'm going to have to repeat the process. Dude that was a bad choice for construction of a high priced tent.
^^ wenns regnet macht das richtig kein Bock.... für Californien nen cooles Zelt bestimmt.... Luxe Outdoor 4 Life <3
why aren t you telling us that the floor fabric of the bikepack version is only 20D thick vs. the backpack version of the same tent is 30D! That is kind of a dealbreaker for some.
Why the mesh roof again? This looks like old HP version that was too hot in summers and dripped moisture from the fly into the trnt through the roof mesh
I have 2 of the stainless steel pots & I'm very careful not to pick them up by the handle without a cloth I don't particularly want to get blisters & burns......overall YES very good cookware highly recommended
Camping on the ice or on glacier, they are the best. Greetings from Greenland.
MSR the price of your frying pan is enough to make anyone buy a jet boil.
I feel bad for the men in this family. Not one word about the men
1.35 min video and tent not in focus. What for me these girls, I don't know them and I don't like them totally. Professionals? Ha, for what? Stupid video. I don't want buy the MSR tent, bad web-site, bad video, bad marketing.
I just picked up a 90s model whisperlite a couple days ago and now I have 2 more on the way 😅😂
Why are they so expensive but made in China?
But the Sawyer Squeeze is 30 dollars, why pay 400 for water purification? That is insanity.
Have you tried the tent under the rain? I ask because the part not covered by the rain protector looks vulnerable
what
Had the fuel line fail after 20yrs and sent it in for repair. I was waiting for the e mail on the repair cost and my stove arrived. They fixed it for free even though I was totally okay with paying the $35.
I've been using #2 Diesel in the Dragonfly. Is this practice going to shorten the stove's life? So far it has worked flawlessly.
I'm not in Europe but I watched anyway. That's the way I roll. 😎
DEAR GOD ! Why is their gear so VERY COSTLY ?????
I’ve got the wind burner and had never heard of anyone using the dedicated skillet. And now I know why, £80 -£100 for a pan!!!! I could take Gordon Ramsey with me for that much!
There needs to be a Carbon element for taste on this unit!
You need to make an updated version of this video.
Is there a specific footprint for these or do you use the msr generic footprints?
Our Bikepacking tents are compatible with our Universal Footprint which are sold separately. To find the specific size footprint that's compatible (depending on the 1p or 2p tent), just check out the product page for more information.
Can you use the liquid fuel stove bottles as water bottles if you plan on just using the Whisperlite Universal with canisters only, but want the bottle for liquid fuel use in an emergency but don’t want to lug around a useless bottle, but make it useful by using it for water until really needed for fuel? This would make the whole stove more viable to carry, or else may as well just get a lighter remote canister stove that also burns canister fuel inverted
The short answer is no. MSR fuel bottles are not considered food-safe (and haven't been designed or tested for that purpose). Therefore, you should not use MSR liquid fuel bottles for any form of water storage.
Is there a reason why it’s not stated that the Universal can burn 100% propane gas bottles (Coleman 1lb bottles) with a LPG/propane to lindal adapter? All the manufacturers with e don’t say you can or say you can’t yet everyone who does it says it works fine
Good question, and that's correct! This has to do with the valve type. We do not recommend using third party adapters with our stoves. These are a potentially unsafe modification of the stove. This can cause the stove to burn at heat levels that it has not been tested for which can lead to permanent damage of the stove.
@@MSRGear So pure propane burns hotter than isobutane mixes?
@@MSRGear my recommendations for the Universal to really stand out amongst the competition, would be make bottles that can store water so they are more multi use, design and test lindal valve adapters for both the higher performance 100% pure 1lb propane bottles (which can also be refilled from the bigger 20lb propane tanks with the right adapter), and also a lindal adapter for the cheaper and more common (than iso butane canisters) 100% butane canisters which are available everywhere in multi packs. Instead people are either just using after market adapters anyway, or less likely to buy the Whisperlite Universal as it may not be as multifunctional in terms of various fuel types as they would prefer (even though it is very multifunctional)
