My line is tangled
I had that happen. If i'm on the water I'll just pull off all the line and go down the lake and pull the line in the water, the reel it in. If at home, I'll just walk down my yard and pull off all the line, then reel it back in through the grass to straighten it out
Best wishes to you
When you remote start the truck the parking lights are on so while the fog lights also be one when you remote start it ?
yup, always on when the truck runs in this setup
Great video and enjoy your channel. Do any of your videos show how you set up your raising and lowering line for the NK300?
No, I just disconnected the rudder and connected it to the caribeener that connects to the NK300.
Really great rig, JT.
Is Sugar Creek wadeable?
there are actually two Sugar Creeks, one near Camp Atterbury and the other southwest of Indy. Both have areas you can wade and others you can kayak. We actually ran into guys wadefishing with flyrods here.
That’s a heck of a sharp setup bro. I just got a crescent shoalie and I been loving that thing I paddle like 1.5 ish miles up current with not too much effort, with the current around 1.2k fps mostly staying near the bank where it’s not as bad. I only take the essentials, 3 poles, a 3700 Plano or 2, (and usually end up only using a whopper plopper🫣)a small binder of soft plastics, life jacket/pfd. I have never fished the susqy but dream of it. I got a fat smallie just under 18” Thursday on the Kalamazoo, that was about the biggest of the week. The bite was a bit slow this past week compared to the week before we were slaughtering 16-18” on the average. I try to go a few times a week when the water and bite is good. We always catch pike too but they can tend to get annoying and break your line I also caught a 22 walleye on a senko last week 😂😊 Is this the same tournament weigh-in I watched the other day where Kristen fit 2nd?
@Michagan_outdoorsman_James yup that's the one. My recap will be coming soon.
@@FishINwithGRAMPSniceeee hope u catch a big one this weekend if u get out.
@@Michagan_outdoorsman_James I'll be out next weekend, I have lots of video editing to get caught up on!
@fishinwithgramps thanks for sharing, great video. Tried the clamps on the nk180 pro but backed out because I was afraid to dent the shaft. Do you just keep clamping down until clamps squeeze the swing up bar?
@@javierescalona3034 no, drill holes in swing up bar
lol who dresses like that to go fishing. 😅. Such good times 😊
Miss those days with my grandpa
Same
How do you check the water in the battery?
never have, I just buy a new battery every few years
I cant believe he caught that at Monroe(I mean I believe him) worst bass fishing ive ever seen lots of big crappie though I live there I fish Monroe alot haven't caught a 5 + all year last year either ''''''''
yeah, i'm still shocked. I caught 5 pound largemouth out of there here and there, but it's been awhile.
The white flukes are the only ones I need !
That's awesome! The Office Space! It's like that at work but a Japanese version. I'm barely up there and stay away. I'll take my laptop to the plant floor if I need it.
Just bought one today
U can just use a bobber stopper above your normal texas rig lead weight, if you dont have any shakey head hooks.
I caught a 22 1/2" smallie that was 7lbs last year. Got it on video. It was a very thick and round football shape.
thanks!
How wide are your bunks set at for the pwr? center to center
Hello, if you had to choose a fishing rod and a fishing reel, which one would it be? I am referring to something rather universal all-terrain, a fishing rod that is suitable for almost all types of fishing, which one would you choose? Greetings from Romania.
So many to choose from. Probably some basic spinning combo to start
Kermit
Is there a pdl drive system for them I can't afford the motors
Nope, built for motors. Titanx would do what you need.
Rambling up until 3:30 min.
Yup
I was a Shimano guy too BID. I’ve slowly upgraded my rod/reel arsenal with Lew’s baitcasting reels. I have 2 Tournament Pros 8:3:1. The Hyperspeed 9:5:1. Just ordered the Mach Crush 7:5:1 yesterday. St. Croix & Dobyns rods. I was thinking about heavy action Dobyns Sierra for my new Mach Crush. Excited about the Winn Grips too. Sorry so long a comment! Greetings YakAnglers! #Missouri
Going out to Greene Sullivan in the AM and throwing this rig! Appreciate the goods you provided me and my boy!
Greene Sullivan has some biguns, enjoy!
Is there a reason you wouldnt rig it weedless??? Personally I'd say to always rig weedless cause you never know you'd come in contact with but is there a scenario where you wouldn't want weedless (obviously topwater doesn't have to be but with branches/weeds that can be on the surface I'd probably still go weedless
They make a weedless hook version
Good stuff Gramps!
Hey, this video is from a wired2fish video. Same parasite in the same place on the fish’s mouth
Same video they used from a Texas wildlife biologist, duh. The information is what is important.
I love my Big Rig so much, I just ordered my second one. Ever been in one? For me, fishing the colorado river, the 12-1 drive is perfect. and when I get lazy, the 55 lb Newport will push it 6 mph all day long
@HendersonHookin Yup, owned a Knarr, and have fished out of a Big Rig and Bite FD as well.
@@FishINwithGRAMPS not a fan of the Knarr but the big rig is the best all around yak in my opinion
Heh, watch my video on the Knarr, wasn't a fan either
@@HendersonHookinreally? I've been loving my knarr, only complaint is the rudder cables
@@FishINwithGRAMPS saw it a while back. I have several videos in my big rig
Hell yea man that’s right😂
Hey Gramps what rod length was the spinning combo?
This one was a 7'0" Medium Fast action rod, which i like for tubes, wacky rigs. They also make in a 6'9" Medium Lite good for Ned/Neko Rigs
Sweet thank you, i actually ordered the 6'9 last night
And still looks like shit
I would totally take that design over the 3.6" action vert worm i make. I'm really into ringed baits. I have various ringed bait molds i love em. The rings cause more vibration. Also i just made that same exact color on my 3.8" gilligan's. I think i made a short on em.
Lake Michigan, South shore is a small mouth fisherman's DREAM , put that in your pipe and pufff.😮
My tournament partner caught one over 4 there in the early ninety's we were cranking weed edges
Thanks for the awesome tips Mr. JT Could you please put a link or the name of the pants that you recommended so I can get the right pair from Walmart or Amazon? I did not see the link in the description and want to make sure I get the right ones to stay cool Thanks again, brother
How does the green pumpkin dye look?
It's a secret!
Can you link where you got the rock guard?
I will when I get home, out of town fishing
Is the rock guard from Innovative Sportsman?
@@1008-bar yup!
Wonderful film!
Beautiful spot and nice looking Bucket you caught. Too bad you didnt find your smallmouth. I never knew they were more elusive in southern Indiana. If you ever get the chance, try out the Eel River or Wabash in Cass Co. There's an abundance of 15-20" smallmouth.
Shimano needs to have a better warranty other than that great rods
bro everyone in comments is dumb it seems.. you dont average a weight of a fish by its length only... you can average one by its length and girth.. lol and thats pretty much basics with most fish. why? because one 23" can be super skinny and starving.. another could be 23" and super fat.. and then the best 23" is super fat filled with eggs also. now if people are saying there arent smallmouth in that area then i have no clue about that. but in california there was a very famous cheater mike long. and he had access to lakes at night which those lakes were closed at nights. and he would catch big fish and cheat in tournaments ect. he actually even took a big fish from one lake and claimed to have caught it at another lake. and he still holds a record for that fish. also castaic lake california used to not have stripers now its full of them.. it also never had smallmouth but before i moved from there we were catching smallmouths and my best from there before i moved was a little over 3lb. and supposedly they had only been illegally planted there for a couple years.
Those Oakleys are really great. I use that same pair to fish Muskie
Those wrangler pants are way more affordable than Simms pants for the budget minded fisherman like myself
I want to know if anyone has hauled in a 55” Muskie in a fishing kayak?
Great job install! I’m thinking about getting one, this one is the best I’ve seen yet! Great video! Thx Gramps! lol I just subscribed! You da Gramps! Keep the faith brother Gramps!👍🥸🙏
Timely. Just had squamous cell removed from outside of nose and basal cell removed from inside. Dermatologist stated the only way she could explain basal cell inside my nose was from reflected light off the water while fishing. Go figure..
Yeah, we gotta be careful out there
Awesome boat, i can see why some are appealed to it while some aren't. For me, I'll stick to my outdated autopilot 120. For my fishing style, it suits me better as i don't fish heavy flowing rivers. I'll wait to see what old town will have offer in the future. Hopefully a autopilot gen 2. So far Old Town is still #1 in motorized kayak. No one has yet to make a kayak that comes with spot lock motor. Everything most be out sourced and diy while Old Town is just plug and play. The XTR is a beast though. There will be people in the market for it 100%
The XTR130 is sweet! That said, as someone who uses a roof rack and a cart to get around, my back tells me it's not a good idea 🤣 Doesn't mean I won't be testing it out as soon as I can at MWO!
What do these run?
Retail will be around $2800 I think, should be out in September but I bet they will be impossible to get for a while. Demand will he very high.
@FishINwithGRAMPS thank you! Definetly intrigued. I have a feelfree lure 13.5 and I love it but that xtr130 is almost too nice not to get.
@@kevingonzo702800 but then you need a motor so that's at least another grand or more so consider that when getting one
@imperialwhovian3461 yeah I don't think we will see many people paddling this haus lol
I have been saving for a pwr129 and all the stuff I would need to rig it out. Definitely gonna go for the 130 now this thing is a BEAST!
I hear ya, I was just getting done getting the PWR129 tricked out and they drop this monster!
Why wasn’t the XTR130 available for the people to test at Icast 2024? That wilderness assassin would have been getting rocks thrown at it if the xtr130 was present and in the mix!
They launched the PWR129 after icast last year as well.
