  its worth noting smplive wasnt the first big smp to use the premise of a server just to livestream on. an iconic older smp server, mianite, had that same premise back in like the 2014 era. obviously it picked up more than that becoming a semi lore server but it was still originally made for livestreaming on.

  I'm old enough to have bought and played Minecraft back in beta with friends and that is by far the best time I had with the game. I'm not knocking it since then but there was something special about playing with my buddies back then on our own servers and having to occasionally trash the whole server because of the constant major updates. Was really fun pre Microsoft. Having said that, I'm in my mid 30s now and my kid loves playing Minecraft so I jump on with her and we play together. It's still a good time.
