    If I remember there were some screws inside the back of the frame on the sides around the light panel when you open the front door. But don’t quote me cause it was 3 years ago.

    May i know how tall are you? Trek website says 58cm is my size for a tad less than 5ft, 11', in seam 34in. Two different stores told me two different sizes. I'm kinda confused now

  • @recordball
    @recordballАй бұрын

    Honestly, it’s hard to tell 100% without seeing you on the bike. You are on the “cusp” for both sizes. I’m 5ft 10.5 and I ride 56cm in most brands. 58cm is a pretty tall bike and you also have to keep in mind that taller frame also means longer top tube. I’m a professional bike fitter and I typically put 5ft 11 people on 56cm frames as type smaller frame can be a bit more manageable and saves a little bit of weight.

    @@recordball thanks for the quick reply, yes I tried both 56cm and 58cm in LBS on the trainer on this bike. The associate there told me I "looked" more comfortable on 58cm. Although to begin with, he told me 56cm was the right size for me. Now since I am buying road bike for the first time, I have all these questions in my head.

    I know this is an old video but here goes. The inner door diagram and instructions will get moldy and splotch over time. I would either clear tape over them and cut away ao it looks clean or clear it. It will eventually erode if not protected. Scotch guard maybe?

    ... I'll stay w/ my 2013 Domane 5.2 3X10 @16 lbs 4oz ... they ruined that bike w/ a compact double, electronic shifting, and heavy disc brakes ... and the front fork is too straight and creates a very harsh ride ...it is a perfect example of the exact wrong direction TREK is going in .... tho I do like the color ....

  • @recordball
    @recordball3 ай бұрын

    It’s not fair to compare 11 year old technology to today’s road bike standards. The straighter fork rake offers faster and more responsive steering while the ISO speed dampening built into the newer fork provides smoother dampening and vibration reduction. The more aero shaped wheels & aero frame tubing along with advanced endurance geometry frame carbon layup compensates for any additional weight. Disc brakes provide much better stoping power and safety in wet weather and downhill descending. Electronic shifting is nearly flawless and almost never goes out of tune and the battery lasts for about of month of riding without needing a charge. Trek spends millions on R&D so comparing a 2013 Domane vs and a new generation version is like comparing an iPhone 1 to an iPhone 15 Pro.

    .... note: My Thule Bike Rack rides on the back of a 2007' Ford F-150 .... so I do not need the latest greatest thing @ %200 of what I purchased my beautiful 2013' Domane 5.2 ...for ... new technology needs to be cost effective , functional, .... and light ...

  • @karelvandervelden8819
    @karelvandervelden8819Ай бұрын

    Yes, I bought last year a lightly used Domane 4.3 for a fraction of a new model. The better fork is also lighter made because with diskbrakes you can not have such a design. Note that the forewheel is slightly set back for normal steering. Compared to my Cube and Specialized bikes it steers normal. The geometry of the Domane fits riders with relative long legs better. I still ride with 2 inches saddle to steerer drop. The bikeweight is relative hefty but the carbon layup is conservative. The bike will not hold you back if you are not a pro. I know riders who spend thousands every few years on bikes. I see that as insecurity, status and lack of knowledge.

    Noobie question. Do the upgraded wheels make a big difference than the stock wheels? If so, what is the difference?

  • @recordball
    @recordball5 ай бұрын

    Carbon Wheels can increase acceleration add additional stiffness, save weight, dampen road vibration and add better aerodynamic dynamics to the bike. Definitely a worthwhile upgrade to any bike that does not have carbon wheels.

  • @chrisscott8362

    The stock PR2 wheels are heavy. The lighter carbon wheels are a noticeable improvement. Like trying to run in dress shoes and then putting on light running spikes.
