    @damo9961 it is, though I think that doesn't probably mean too much. There isn't a lot people can do once you've established infinite creature mana with Food Chain to begin with, hard for me to see a position where it really helps.

    Thanks for the review! I'll throw this wall of text for anyone scratching their heads at the list and to hopefully spark more discussion since I don't have a primer going. This Rog Thras is much closer to Rog Si than the Rog Thras midrange builds a la Sam Black. The midrange version has felt too dopey to hang with other midrange decks without efficient tutors or silences. I feel this is the better direction to take after maintaining ~40% winrate (100 game sample) in higher profile discords + larger tournaments. Glad to finally get it on topdeck with a big enough tournament using topdeck. This is a manual storm deck with Kitten + Cloud of Faeries/Dockside/Candelabra feeding into Thras as plan A. Once kitten is in play it's almost impossible to deal with. The trick is that every card slot focuses on triggering kitten/song while going mana neutral or mana positive (ie carpet of flowers is sus but almost always will get at least 1 back same turn compared to birds of paradise). This kitten strat inherently enables Hullbreaker/Song payoffs so they're must haves. This means that Rograkh often hangs in the command zone if there's no immediate reason to play him to help get the Song/Cloudstone/Hullbreaker line going since he gets picked off a lot when sitting around early. The mana choices results in bowmaster/board wipe insulation and helps feed docksides to encourage early win attempts. All of the dopey 3 mana tutor creatures are unimposing set up pieces to either neoform to kitten or chain with kitten in play. This pulls table attention away from you and helps to clear the table of interaction for your turn if someone sees a juicy chance with dockside. If no one goes for it then you can sit back on Thras and develop while working towards an e zone/borne line. Legolas's Quick Reflexes guarantees that kitten will stay in play plus a kitten trigger since the trigger must resolve before LQR leaves the stack. It's an untapper for earthcraft/relic to sometimes get mana neutral return and removal so it's a must have. The One Ring isn't here for the same reason it's not in Rog Si; a wheel is just better. I've tried Training Grounds since that can accelerate the storm turn, but TG has baited me into some trap hands since it's no wheel so it hasn't made the cut either. Six has been mediocre. It's slightly too inefficient for an immediate payoff, and I'm not looking to keep lands in hand often. I've found shifting woodlands to serve the same purpose while still being able to develop early game via a land drop or crop rotating to it as needed. The hullbreaker/song/kitten/cloudstone that gets wheeled/countered early are the ones that need to come back and not using the stack to do it is fantastic. The third wheel is the 97th slot for sure. The new flash otter looks to be the real winner for the deck and will replace timetwister/Six based on initial testing. A creature for flash shenanigans, neoforming to kitten at instant speed, using rocks as protection for kitten, and Earthcraft untap synergy is absurd.

    Hi I'm the pilot of the first Sisay list covered in this video! Since this event, I have cut strix serenade as it doesn't help protect my win attempts other than countering an opp agent, and it consuming a slot for that incredibly narrow use case felt super bad. Honestly, price wise Nadu might be your best bet if you aren't able to use proxies. It has a pretty simple gameplan, only runs one OG dual land, which you could acquire eventually, and most of the other expensive cards it runs are staples of the format you can use in any deck.

    I’m running Trinket Mage and super bad card Shuko which isn’t needed at all tbh but just cranks your engine up to nuclear powered. With so many bounce and copy effects in the deck I think Nadu slots right in kinda like Six - not essential and not a combo piece but just provides so much gas.

  • @harvenger0death

    I played Atraxa for the past year and a half, and I moved off of it, simply because it's hard to keep up with rog sai or Tymna Kraum, and you're not going off before them most of the time simply to trying to set up the first couple of turns while the other decks are getting straight gas plays to go off quicker. Hoping for a Blind Obedience or Thoracle with counters as back up, is really low vs other faster decks in the format. Currently playing Krark/Sakashima and I'm absolutely loving it! Solid interaction and plays to win on top of others trying to win. The fact that you can copy a counter and bounce it is super solid and I'm trying to be one of the solid players to represent the deck.

    It was suprising for me to see Rakdos The Muscle having better stats than Ob lately. Maybe its the respect factor? People have come to understand Ob and its pop off while not so much so for Rakdos yet? (Also doesn't benefit off of opponent actions, so people probably are less scared of it coming down early and don't kill/counter it right away?) Just kinda interesting to me! Only 9 entries (same as blood pod, RIP), but an insane 44% conversion...

  • @verzun8470

  • @LemorasCards
    @LemorasCards2 күн бұрын

    @verzun8470 I'm excited to see how it develops. It is probably a case of knowing that Rakdos will always be face up casting its own spells to get value so you can answer some other part of it later or kill it before whatever the other piece is. It does represent an interesting space since so many of its most broken synergies are with creatures which could be tough to answer.

But she def can make a spot in the meta and is unique in the value she can provide. I def think she's one slipping under the cracks. And maybe she's under the weather this month. I thought she was at a 24% conversion last month. But with the addition of lively dirge and wanderwine 1 card creature combo she's a baller. I built Nadu and dominated tables to the point where it got boring. Then everyone was jumping on the Nadu train, so then I built a staxy Magda deck, I called it “BURN THE BIRD”. It was specifically designed to shut Nadu down. I packed the deck with cards like rending volley, ghostfire slice, null elemental blast, fireblast, and the usual stuff I’d normally have in the deck anyway like bottlecap blast, red elemental blast, and pyroblast, all of which bolt the bird for 1 mana. I also run nullrod and tons of artifact destruction because if I can’t deal with Nadu, I’ll deal with his tool box instead. My Magda deck has a 100% win rate against Nadu so far. Also, since Nadu runs blue, their decks are usually packed with counterspells and most of Magda’s interaction isn’t countable by the typical counterspells you commonly see in cedh. You also can pack even more answers to Nadu in a Rog/Si deck too.

    Tier list bad.... Now that i got that out of my system. Thank you for another amazing video. I think you are doing a great job explaining and talking about the CEDH community. I feel like you do a really good job of explaining why decks are where they are. And I feel as if you have good grasp on the ideas. I would love to have you do more interviews with people who get high ranks in CEDH tournaments. If you can reach out to get a tournament or deck brake down. Hear it from the people who are playing those decks at the highest tables. And get there insite. As I feel like seeing things from there prospective would be really helpful for some of the newer players, or people who want to understand a deck better and done have the full reps just yet. ( Also I'm going to have to ask you to please quit talking nicely about rog/si.. Please put them down about 2 tiers. And tell people its a bad deck. As I am a rog/si player.. And people are already out for my head.. if you say its better then T&K then I don't have any more political capital. And I would like more paper tiger propaganda posted so people quit paying attention to us. Thank you. )

    As someone who’s been playing atraxa since release I can say food chain does win games and its also easy to bait ppl into thinking you’re going the food chain route by playing mist or scourge early on while I’m actually going for a infinite mana with kitten/teferi then proceed to blink atraxa until I get what I need. Also I like to run unusual combos that ppl just don’t expect like drannith/uba mask

    I tried out Witherbloom Apprentice and Chain of Smog for a while in Atraxa. It would always catch players off guard, especially if you Born Upon a Wind and then cast chain, or Silence into it. It was fun, but took too much to set it up and for a creature that doesn't do much otherwise the risk/reward wasn't there in the end.
