Did you find matching cord or cut the cord from the pieces?
love this!
Hello.. can you share where you printed free vintage prints from?
Hi. I have a few websites that I find them. There's a list of the sites in this blog post: themerrythought.com/diy/how-to-create-diy-faux-oil-painting-with-mod-podge/.

This part, EVERY YEAR, has alway's been so hard for me!.. 😔
Always so sad. And hard to muster the energy to put away all the pretty things!
Luv this❤❤❤❤❤❤
Smaller boards work better. Easier to install, less issues with movement and any deformation/defects becomes less apparent or problematic (depending on the wood species and environment) Also softwoods or fragile hardwoods work better in an parquet style because they become less prone to lifting up or one board going bad and making you remove half the floor or it entirely.
Sorry, user-wy5ch2xc8z , but design wise that’s a big “no” for both suggestions. The large boards (and the finish) they chose really look great.
Like we mentioned in the video, we went with pine, in this size, because it matched the rest of the flooring in the upstairs of our house. We had no trouble with installing these. And our other flooring is laid out in the same pattern, and is 200 years old, with no boards lifting or needing to remove any, so I'd say we're good with it lasting this way! 🙂
2 years later. Thank you ❤
It will be 3 years this fall that we've had the fridge like this, and it's still good! 🙂
I really love the warmth and dimension this paint treatment adds. Can you tell me how much paint it took to complete a room and whether your base coat was a primer, or 1-2 coats of finish paint? I’m trying to muster the courage to try this
Hi. Sorry for the delay in responding. The base coat had primer and 1 coat of white paint (Sherwin Williams Alabaster), just because that's what we had in there before we tried this technique. We used 1 quart of each color to do the faux limewash technique - it will depend on your room size how much of that you'll need. Hope that helps and good luck doing it. I'm really happy with ours!
2 cups are equal to abt 480ml in cooking. Your cup is so small so you are giving wrong advise.
This is very pretty. I’m definitely doing this in my living room. Keep an eye on the bathroom though since the finish is matte in a place that has more moisture than the rest of the house. If your walls start to sweat when you take hot showers keep an eye out for possible water damage. It could take years to set in but it depends on how long your showers are lol.
Ohh, yes, something to keep an eye on! Thanks!
Beautiful job. Lovely home. Enjoyed it. Thank you.
Thanks so much! 😊
Try annealing first
Can i use the same product to stain seagrass chairs?
Any thoughts on incorporating an ice maker on the door
It would depend on your water dispenser, if it stuck out from the fridge or was flush with the door. If it's flush with the door, you would be able to do this with a cut out. Putting a trim molding around the cut out would help give it a prettier/more finished look. So on ours, I would have made it match the shaker style molding we have around the panel doors.
Can you share the depth of your fridge and the depth of the cabinet you installed it in? I keep finding fridges that are deeper than standard depth counters, even though they’re “counter depth”. Wonderful explanation!
Our fridge cabinet measures 24-3/4" deep. However, our fridge is pushed back into the room behind it. So that's how we were able to make our cabinet depth shorter than the depth of our fridge. Our fridge is 33" deep.
@@TheMerrythought thank you for the reply. I appreciate it! You did a LOVELY job!
Kill the music it is louder than you.
Scary use of that table saw. Use a cross cutting sled to cut the small pieces. As many others have suggested use a push stick for the rip cuts.
What is the name of the hardware you use?
I LOVE IT
If your wall is hallow, use 'Wingits' anchors.
What kind of paint?
sorry for the delay in responding, we used: oil-based paint, we used Rust-Oleum Flat Black (rstyle.me/+G-qoMvInuzLTl02JNKzYeA)
Damnit, I forgot what I was thinking
I’ll
Did you paint the top rails as well or just the sides panels? Looks great btw
Sorry for the delay in responding, we only painted the side panels, the rails we left as they came.
Did you have any issues with the door not sticking after all this time? Does that gorilla tape stay strong after this long? Thanks!
We haven't had any issues with the tape not sticking. The door has held firm, and it's been almost 3 years!
Thank you! I told my hubby i want to do this hes like can't be done. I beg to differ Sir! Im gonna do same for my stove front!
I love this! I watched so many self lime washing videos, but this is the most natural and gorgeous. You did great job guys 🎉🎉 First of all, your color choices are wonderful. I am gonna try this for my house remodeling. Thank you!
Lovely!
Is it not a good idea to remove the existing fabric (and glue the new fabric right to the mylar core)? Does that not work?
Clearly you got your nails done after building the frame!
Pretty cool. Want to try this with plants that have tap roots.
This is gorgeousssss well done!
Thank you!
Great vid! What am I missing.. Why 8 sliding brackets? I'm counting 4...
We used two brackets at each spot, so 2 upper & lower, on both doors. (They needed to be longer, so that's why we had to use 2 of each).
Got it. Thanks for the response. I was scratching my head!
does black siding make it warmer ?
Unfortunately, we did not really notice it being any warmer from the black paint. We probably have more cloudy days than sunny days around here though, so maybe it would somewhere with more sun?
excellent job, well done!
Thank you very much!
Video has a great combination of camera angles, tips, and practical advice. Well done!
Thank you!
Thank you! I think this is probably one of the more high-quality finishes I have seen, and I think it is because the colours chosen are much more subtle in contrast. I have seen loads of Faux Limewash videos but I still get the feeling it just sort of looks like a bad paint job rather than a natural limewash effect. The real deal seems far far too expensive for me right now, so willing to give your method a try :)
So glad you like it! I was really happy with how it turned out! I do think with this method, keeping the two paint colors close in color helps it to look a little better and more realistic!
I've always wondered how to do this. Thank you!
What color and leather types do you have?
The exact color isn't available anymore, it was Sienna (and they didn't specify a leather type back then). So it looks like Burnt Sienna, Charme Leather is the closest match.
This is dope. The only example I could find using regular fridge. Thank you
Glad you like it!
Curious for an update, how has the paint held up?
The one coat of paint held up well for 3 seasons. It was ready for a touch up by season 4. We did end up taking our pool down though, our kids just weren't using it enough to make it worth all the work. (They're swimmers, but need a really big pool for practice). But I would say it holds up really well, and you'd just need to touch up the paint every so often, depending how chipped the paint gets on your pool. We did a year one year update blog post that you can see here: themerrythought.com/diy/painted-swimming-pool-how-its-holding-up-one-year-later/
Thanks so much for this video! How are the brackets and paneling holding up after two years?
Everything is holding up really well still!
Thank you so much for this and the blog post. We just bought a used pool, and I really want to do this. So, the information you have shared is really helpful!
Glad it was helpful! I definitely would recommend this, it was so easy and made such a big difference!
There’s got to be a easier way
Amazing, great idea! This looks wonderful.

This is genius and now I have so many ideas for our upcoming remodel!
So glad it's helpful, good luck on the upcoming remodel! :)
Very nice 👍 I like it.
Thank you very much!
Bonjour. What IS the oil please ?
I used baby oil!
