You can also place the cord in a bucket of water .. loosen the cord from being circular
I tend to think the brightness of marker lights should be standardized so as not to confuse people and like dashboard lights, should not be much brighter than stock, so the main lights that I would want to be brighter would be high beams and backup lights with which I like a backup siren, though not too loud a backup siren. With interior lights and marker lights, which might have to be on when the engine isn't. I like LEDs to save energy and battery life, but dim LEDs save even more.
THE worst pair of workboots i've ever worn ! The most expensive too ! Save your $
I guess all feet are different! The worst I EVER had were a brand called Moosehead, the sales guy sold me on them being made in Canada, but they were AWFUL. I was happy that they didn't last long and fell apart quickly. CAT boots are terrible too, I think they used the D9 for inspiration. They're like dragging a bulldozer with each foot, they're so heavy. What's your go-to? Take care!
@@ShopKatIndustries I've had pretty good luck with Terra's and Rockport's. I work in a machine shop running a large horizontal boring mill and i'm walking on steel chips and splashed with cutting fluid so that eats up any work boot. If i get a year out of a pair i'm doing good. The Timberlands never seemed to break in. I had sore feet from day 1.
Some great examples of Canadian aviation history. Makes me proud. We have Base Borden Military Museum near us. Ttey have a wide range of historical military equipment, including aviation, on display. Been quite a while since I've been there so really should go back and check it out again. That hobby store looks great. Could definitely drop a few CAD$ in a place like that. Nice job on the light upgrade on the Maverick. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
I worked for a military contractor and we sent plenty of LAV3s and 6s to Borden. Would be cool to see their museum! Take care!
Good deal on the lights . You are getting the truck like you want it . Enjoy seeing what you come up with ...Do we need to bring the VW back ??? Lolololol. Take It Easy....
No, no VWs, I think I can keep myself busy, lol!!!!!!
ShopKat, always good tips and accessories you come up with . Very cool to the Air Museum. Love seeing the WWII British Lancaster Bomber ,it did its part in helping to defeat Germany. Enjoy those days with your Sidekick !!!!!!
Excellent I once visited the Canberra air museum, they had a spitfire I think 16 cylinder rotary Rolls engine only flown from Melbourne to Canberra, and hung from the ceiling, looked like fun, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
Spitfires still reign as one of, if not THE, best-looking airplanes of all time!
I could spent a month in the air museum! WWII era aircraft are my favorites. Glad you and the tech had a good time!
Nice 👍
Very cool Shop Kat. I love airplanes. I retired from the aviation industry in 2017 and still miss it. Maybe someday you can get your son a RC airplane they are so much fun. I’ve been in the hobby for 35 years. Great video keep up the good work. 👍😎✌️
That would be cool! I always wanted an RC plane but never pulled the trigger, I always messed with rubber-powered lol.
There also is the Calgary Mosquito Society. They are currently doing a Mossie and they have done a Hurricane.
I'll have to visit! The Arrow Society could be interesting too.
@@ShopKatIndustries They have a tube channel of the same name.
Awesome museum. Thanks for sharing. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT
Thank you! You too!
Gee-Whizz...Calgary has everything a guy could want! Cheers
Calgary also has incredibly destructive hailstorms, it seems! They just got smoked with a bad one. But as much as I give it a hard time, Oilers vs. Flames being what it is, it's not a bad place.
Way cool air museum. Felt like a kid in a toy store. Wait. You took us there to. Thx man. Cheers.
Thank you!
Those bulbs will help when turning corners at night. Really fine collection of aircraft and worth the trip. Take care.
I hadn't even thought of that, but you're right, they will!
Always good to have good help at the ready. Nice work on the improvements. Trust you enjoyed the camping trip. Look forward to more. Be safe and stay well.
So much fun! Cheers!
50:1 or the recommended 40:1 mix?
Hmmm, I don't even remember! Probably 40:1!
Great helper. Glad you didn’t have grease on the hitch ball or. TT would have had it all over him Good vid. Great father son bond.
Yeah, I didn't even notice he was grabbing it until I was editing the videos! He'd have been one messy lil fella. Thanks for the support, Bruce!
Shopkat ,enjoyed catching up with at Nick's Garage Friday night. Cool deal and the camping and doing some mods to the truck !!!! Best Regards to you and your family.
Thanks Sarge, cheers!!
Shopkat , Get deal on the tailgate mod and lettering . Impress wuth the tallgate mod . You got a Great Helper there . Enjoy these days !!!!
I think I prefer both the tie down or open screw holes, through which I could spray in spray wax to prevent rust.
The tie down has to come off or it hits the shock. There are slightly different tie downs available on Amazon, I may one day get a set.
"What's left in the fridge to eat?" Refrigerator ownership outside the modern developed world is considered a luxury so that is a bit of a tip off that they really were not all that old or poor, or it would have been the pantry, ice box, cupboard or root cellar.
Ok you have my interest i had an idea with tailgates nobody has done yet that i know of think plasma cutter l e d custom att that lights up by switch or when brakes engage
Are you thinking the letters themselves light up when braking? That would be so cool, I'm sure if you could find a way to make them and get them on Amazon they'd sell like hotcakes!
Looks like you and the lad are enjoying your time together, love his can do attitude 😊, thanks for sharing, all the best to you and your loved ones
😎👍🌳🌳🌳
I've owned a lot of Ford pick-ups in my life, and I felt fortunate if the tailgate didn't fall off. Cheers from Iowa
Cleverly you've eliminated such troubles from the Prairie Flyer!
@@ShopKatIndustries 😆
Great video hope you had a great trip ! I feel certain top tech had a blast ! Cheers
We sure did, thanks!
🥝✔️ Is it a Word? Is it a Plan? Nope! Its Letters, Man!
looks good!
Thanks Woody, cheers!
Awesome video brother. Thanks for sharing. He is so smart. Keep the content coming. Hope you have an incredible weekend. Much love and RESPECT
At least you're not camping and working on a VW!😲
Love it when Top Tech is helping dad you doing a good job including him with knowledge
I try! Cheers!
My idea of camping is getting away from it all and especially all things mechanical! Get a chair, a beer and stick your toes in the water SK--you've earned it!😎
Honestly, at that "lake"......chair and beer, yup! Water, not so much. It used to be a great swimming lake when I was a kid, but it's spring-fed and the level has gone down to the point that you could probably walk across it, if not for all the goose poop! We didn't even go down to the "beach" this trip.
Enjoy your family time 😊😊
Thank you 😊
New truck?
Yup! The Patriot has left the Building!! Although it still comes back for visits, lol.
@ShopKatIndustries good Call on getting rid Of the patriot
Love the relationship you have with the little one!! God first family second and everything else will find its place!
So true!
Always good to end with a win!!
Sadly, they lost to Calgary in the semifinal, but it was still fun to be there!
Looks like everyone's having a great time 🎉 thanks for sharing, all the best to yous and your loved ones
Thank you so much!
Oilers Next Year!
I suspect they will do very well!
Great video!
Thank you kindly!
They do it so it has to go to the dealer. They're not trying to help the consumers.
@@MrSnoopyMan you are 100% correct! The OEM manufacturers would love to see DIY auto repair become a thing of the past.
Home mechanics may need to specialize more, like on the brands they own, in your case Jeep and Ford, plus Briggs. Anything more sounds like too much for home moonlighting now with very limited parts storage. Certainly VW seems to be it's own specialty even for Mercedes and BMW mechs. You didn't notice much Daimler in your Jeep did you? Though I doubt Willies would have put ratcheting clutches in their alternator pulleys, though I guess a Scott agent might know if Daimler thought that up.
Get a small bucket of clean water, scoop some out with your hands, like with your coffee, and wet your hair, neck, and shirt shoulders, but not your glasses; and lose the hat. Also, take a siesta in order to maximize your work energy at dawn and dusk. I just came in out of the heat to type this after working outside 6-11am.
Dr. Pepper was my favorite too until it cost me 2 teeth.
The '05 Passat had a notorious plastic coolant tube known as the "crack pipe" that I had to replace, with more plastic. One new coolant additive says it has stuff to protect plastic. I wonder if spray wax on the outside could slow that kind of plastic rot? I'm a big fan of spray wax. Plastic parts should be as heavy as metal parts, and therefore several times thicker.
