    For all those who also were quite frustrated by the evasive kind of answers to the three important features of the stove: I found the info finally on the website of the kickstarterproject. So: 1) thermal power is around 5 kW (which seems reasonable). 2) electrical power is roughly predicted in the range of 50W to 100W. 3) kickstarter price was 1950 GBP, current early bird price seems to be 2450 GBP, and the future fantasy retail price is imagined to be 3450 GBP.

    We tried to have wood burning stove. Sadly the regulations now covering soot & fumes have been made so strict that we need a unit attached to the back of the burner, which is larger than the burner has to be fitted. This won't work in our home without MAJOR & expensive alterations to rooms & building here in UK. V good idea he has provided your gov. Allows innovations like this.

    The stove can be made by any family man...but the ThermoElectric Generator can not. It should be the focus of the company - to create and manufacture ThermoElectric Generators and sell the tech design to every family at very reasonable and affordable price - If the goal is to solve the looming energy crisis due to political instability around the world. TEG companies are ripping people from around the world by their NON DEPENDABLE products. I wish your company could switch from making super stove to making and manufacturing TEGs for the COMMON people.

    So, fully automatic? Not sure it loads the fuel it self, so not really fully automatic. The electric generation may be "fully automatic", but say that, not that the stove is fully automatic. And, that's hardly revolutionary. You said it's thermoelectric. OK, so how many watts does it generate? What's special about your thermoelectric generation? And, what's the use of the "pump"? Your volt meter showed very low voltage, around 12V...which is certainly sufficient to charge a cell phone, but hardly enough to run a house. All shown was a wood burning stove. Nothing at all hooked up to it. An array of lights, sure they lit up, but had no connection to the stove, so who knows where the electricity for those came from. All incredibly vague and not, IMO, very revolutionary. And no, I'm not going to give you my info until you give me more info. Website has nothing either. If you do have something "revolutionary", I'd highly recommend providing more details up front.

    Well, what silly comments. An automatic washing machine does not come with a message to say you need to put the clothes in, an automatic car does not say you actually have to drive it, so what makes you think we need to say our stove needs someone to put wood in. 😂🤣😂🤣we can both be silly. Next, the stove in the film with light board. The lights are all plugged in to the back of the stove in the film, but I am NOT going to turn it round to demonstrate while it’s running. 😂 you also have fantastic eyesight to be able to see the meter showing 12 volts, another silly comment😂 Lastly please don’t subscribe because we only want info from any one interested in the stove. After saying all that, I still wish you a great weekend, kind regards Howard. PS it’s good to have a laugh.

  • @Dr.Bigglesworth
    @Dr.Bigglesworth3 ай бұрын

    @@howardpym3385 What's silly about it? It pointed out how vague and unsubstantiated the claims in the video are. Again, what's automatic about it? At least with a washing machine you know what's automatic up front. And an automatic car clearly claims "transmission type - automatic". Well, so you claim about the lights. No where can wires be seen between the stove and the light panel, the "view" is pretty clear. Being a for real EE, I am skeptical. WRT 12V on the meter, Perhaps you ought to watch the video! Talk about silly. The meter actually DOES show 12V! At 5:22. Unless "V" on the meter is not Volts but instead "Vaguery", which actually makes sense, as this is a 12 on a scale of 1-10 on vagueness. And, I DO have fantastic eyesight, thank you for noticing. 20/10 in fact. So good, that what's shown is likely NOT an actual meter, but a power supply, as it says "OUTPUT", and the right meter says "A". Those look like the meters on a lab supply, and I have similar ones in my lab (yes, I have a lab). And, the right meter shows about .5A, so @ 12V, 6W. Pretty low output if that's measuring your purported power output, but it is enough to charge a cell phone, so that claim I believe. Is that supply what's powering the lights? One light perhaps, but not the whole panel. You'd have to turn your power supply up a bit more for that. I would love to be wrong about this purported "revolutionary" technology, but until proven otherwise, what I see warrants skepticism.

  • @howardpym3385
    @howardpym33853 ай бұрын

    Austin, I guess I was a little upset with your original message for which I apologise. The meter in the film had nothing to do with power out of the stove, I was testing something else while the film was being made. The film was made 4 months ago to draw attention to electricity poverty and pollution not to sell stoves.

    Just to finish, the stove has passed all certification to be able to be sold in more than 38 country’s to include the US, Canada, Europe and the Uk. It took 10 years to get to this point and has been viewed by many scientists over the years. Again kind regards Howard.

  • @Dr.Bigglesworth
    @Dr.Bigglesworth3 ай бұрын

    @@howardpym3385 Add one more scientist to the list of "viewed" ;-) Glad to hear, and all excellent, but as I first mentioned, it would be great if you would provided some specifics. If you are using some other technology besides TEG/TEC, that would be great to know more about. If not, not an issue, TEC/TEG is certainly viable enough. How many watts is the big question? With current TEG/TEC technology, you can get about say 200 watts out of something the size of the back of the shown stove (assuming the "electronics" are built-in), which is useful. If you could get 500W or even 1000W, that would be far more useful, which you may be able to with a purpose-built stove. Not enough to power a "regular" house, but enough to certainly be useful in many situations. We have to start somewhere. A purpose-built cordwood (or pellet) stove should get a lot more electricity out than a retro-fit stove, and may be able to reach the 1000W or far more. One issue I run up against with this as a "general" solution like this is what if you aren't in the heating season? If that's the case, then one would need some alternate source of electricity in the non-heating season. I would think that a heating solutions that is self contained (as in, can power the fans/pumps and all ancillary things required for heating) is great, and a different solution may be needed in parallel (likely solar or geothermal at this point in time) along with a self contained heating solution that would obviously be used in the heating seasons only. Cooling I look at as luxury (and a different problem), heating is a necessity. The self contained heating system would not require much, if any, electrical storage, which IMO is a very positive thing. Just good regulation and control, which is what I assume you meant by "automatic" (low voltage/current drop out, maintains tight output voltage range). All just my opinions, of course. So, in no way am I poo-pooing your ideas, on the contrary, I am trying to flesh them out. There is a lot of puffery on the Internet, which I am sure you are aware of, and it's sometimes not so easy to weed out the chaff. I do appreciate your responsiveness and willingness to engage. That in and of it self say says a lot. It is a good video, just wish it had more. BTW, you did say "fully" automatic ;-) Best of luck, I look forward to seeing and hearing more about it. Dr. B.

    Howard let me explain about gathering firewood. 1st you need a chainsaw, you need to know how to opporate and maintain a chainsaw. 2nd, you need a vehicle to haul the wood, generally a pickup truck is your best bet. Then you haul your wood back home and have to split and stack. Splitting wood by hand which is what I like to do is strenuious or you rent or own a gas powered hydraulic spliter which is expensive and hard on your back to opporate. In my lifetime I have cut well over 100 cords of wood for my personal use. I think I know what I'm talking about. Thanks for the reply. Stephen

    @@stephenhebard3004 Hi Steven, let me also explain. I owned a wood fuel business for more than 15 years, operated my own kilns and exported to Europe and the UK in 40 foot containers. My logs were sold in large DIY supermarkets and I supplied many retailers. In my busiest time I exported up to 4 40ft containers per week of split logs weighing in above 20 tons each, I did not cut trees down to do this, we used branches only. So I guess I also know a lot about the wood fuel business. I have not mentioned yet but my company also produced 2 x 40 ft containers of kindling every week for years. Have a good day, Howard.

  • @howardpym3385
    @howardpym33853 ай бұрын

    Hi Stephen. I would like to add to my response. Now retired from the fuel business. My company was FSC certified. ( certificate issued by the Forest Stewardship Council). This certificate confirms that the wood has come from a responsible source, that every tree cut down has been replaced, dead trees are left standing to help feed woodpeckers and the most healthy trees are left standing to help feed the small wild life below that depend on it, while keeping the identity of the forest during re growth. Most of the FSC certified trees cut down are for construction timber but the branches are usually used for firewood or to make wooden toys, chopping boards etc. Have a great weekend Steven. Kind regards Howard.

Solar is cheap but if you live in a forest or have lots of snow, live the wrong side of a mountain, have bad weather without sunshine for the majority of the year, even if you live in dusty condition or with short or limited daylight hours, solar is not as good as you think, even if it is cheap. Our Stove was aimed at a global audience not at persons living in the Caribbean. 🤭kind regards Howard.

    😂thank you for your comment. Not at this rate. Global warming may not impact you and me but it will impact on future generations according to experts which I am not. I pray for the future population🙏 kind regards Howard.

    Ever try used oil or vegetable oil? Would love one in my off grid home

    Hi Joe, no, I never used oil but have been looking at atomised oil burners for hot climates after spending some time in countries like Saudi Arabia, where some fuels are not available. Thank you for your comment. Kind regards Howard.

    Nothing like fear mongering. I live in Canada and lots of folks heat with wood. Firewood is expensive even though we have more trees tahn you can shake a stick at...and it is a major polluter with most stoves burning inefficiently. The most efficient stoves still dump a crap ton of pollutants into the atmosphere. Also, the electricity produced by this super stove is minimal at best and will not run your fridge or washing machine etc...a few LED lights at best. He's just an old man with an old idea to try and combat the big energy tycoons. Stick to natural gas.

    Hi Ian, old Howard hear 🦻😂🕺, did you ever think that older people have a lot more experience than younger persons like yourself. I am also passionate about pollution and it’s awful Ramifications on our atmosphere. You are also right about old stoves being inefficient. New technology is entirely different and our stove has the most advance burning technology. The stove was designed more for off grid use, not to run a house. Thermal energy technology is also advancing at an incredible rate. You suggest sticking to natural gas, WOW. Pollution from gas is very high. Also the cost of supply is getting more and more year on year. Last response, I am also not sure what you mean by combating big tycoons. Love your country by the way. Regards, old Howard 🥱

    @@howardpym3385 I am 82...I guess I qualify as a younger old person. I remember when steam was still a thing with lots of BTU in and very little mechanical out. Times change as does the experience of the old. It is easy to see thatnlate technologies surpass those of the old in terms of efficiencies...especially when it comes to thermodynamics and also that of simple heating systems. I worked for a large food manufacturer as an industrial engineer with licenses for both gaseous and liquid fuels. Wood burning technology has profound limitations as compared to, as mentioned in my previous post, natural gas. I am also very familiar with thermopiles and Peltier systems which are ok for small load demands such as LED lights and other small devices. The tycoons are the fossil fuel magnates. Regards, Young yet somehow old, Ian.

    Hi Ian, I guess we are both age experienced. My past includes ownership of an LED lighting and electronics company, an engineering company and have manufactured and supplied generator trip panels to a major power company in the UK involved with connecting solar to the grid. The panels were also used in off grid locations including factories and large farms. In the past my company made control systems for British Aerospace and the Nuclear Fuels industry. Some of my past co workers were very talented. I personally have worked with thermal electrics for more than 12 years and as you know still do. When you mentioned natural gas, it came as a little surprise, natural gas being very polluting. I will watch out for fossil fuel magnates as I hope that one day fossil fuels will be a thing of the past. From one more experience person to another, I hope you have great day and please accept my very best regards, Howard.

    @@howardpym3385 I am an industrial engineer. I worked for Hawker Siddeley Orenda Division Canada in the metallurgy division and also for Campbells Soup as a process control engineer. I had also worked with National Research Council of Canada on nuclear equipment...mainly shielding and also while there with home heating systems at the NRC testing woodstoves, heat pumps absorption chillers/heaters. While wirh a a smaller research company we designed and built test cells for solar cells...mainly for NASA and Ford's solar farm in Michigan. I also helped with the design of automated building control systems for our national defense at our commando base in rural Ottawa to remotely maintain fire control systems, heat, electrical and water supply. I am partially blind now so forgive any spelling or grammar...difficult to type these days. Good luck with your company.
