Le vieux aux cheveux blancs, qui essaie de faire louper le marcher à deux ou trois vendeurs, si il a jamais pris un coup de poing dans la gueule, ou un coup de canne, c'est vraiment mal fait.

excellent takeoffs, how many revolutions do you need in pre-rotation to take off in so little space?

When are you disengaging the prerotator? Is this considered a towering takeoff?

just before full power

That is a really interesting takeoff. I'd like to know, in detail, what the sequence is. It *looks* like you release the brakes just before you get 300rrpm, then disengage the prerotator and apply full power just *after* 300rrpm. After that, I'm not sure how you're keeping the rotor RPMs up, while you're climbing, nor the altitude at which you pitch forward, to gain airspeed. I would very much like to replicate this takeoff, but want to do so as safely as possible.

How much headwind did you have there? Is there a trick to such a short take off?

Belle vidéo et beaucoup de souvenir pour moi car mon père et mon grand père achetais sur le marché. J'ai souvent vu votre père ou grand père avec sa bétaillère ( un tube Citroën gris )

this looks impressive. but its not great piloting. since he wanted to do a shot field take off, he can do as he did but fly it low to the ground untill he gets 60mph. i can assure you he didnt have 60 when he was airbourne. and if he had an engine failure it would have ruined his day

+Martin Langham I have to agree on the piloting technique. Its safer to fly a few feet above the ground building up speed, then climbing out. You can see plenty of videos on KZread where the pilot got to far behind the power curve with a take off like the one shown here. The video usually ends with the aircraft slowly coming back down at an angle, landing, then rolling, and then blades throwing dirt everywhere. -no doubt safer than a fixed wing departure stall, but it still makes for a bad day. All that said, its still an impressively small take off roll.

Wonder how much headwind he had for that takeoff ?

less than 5knts

You can hear the wind blowing in the microphone, and the grass on the ground moving around. That was at least 15-20 knts.
