Sailing Avalon Sunset

Sailing Avalon Sunset

We are a Canadian couple with an ambition and dream to travel across multiple countries. In 2018, we've purchased 323 Beneteau 2006 with no prior sailing experience or even theoretical knowledge. Our goal was to move in to become liveaboards right away to start learning about sailing and sailboat maintenance. Through series of mistakes, lessons learned and help of others we've been great full to make it this far. Our goal remains the same, to start the big journey into the blue water and discover new cities and countries along the coastal shore over the next little while. Stay tuned for the updates of our adventures!

Very good saving idea to make your own d.i.y dehumidifier. This would work great for your home as well but out of the way off pets and children of cause. My only tip would be to cover it at home.👏

I just put the absorbent material into a piece of old tights which contains it, and don’t bother with the cap. The material stays at the top and the water drips through.

Order yourself a big bag of Calcium chloride online, It's cheap and works great.

If you do this, be sure to use "flush cut" plyers to cut the zip-ties. Scissors are the last thing I would use. I'd rather leave a long, flexible tail than a short, stiff, sharp tail. If you don't cut them flush with the buckle, they can scratch the heck out of you. My arms haven't forgotten the poorly cut zip-ties they encountered.

DON'T DO THIS. Over time cable ties go brittle, break off and end up in the water. And it shouldn't need to be said that plastic in the water ends up in the wildlife. It's pollution.

Wouldn’t this make the lien snag on lots of stuff. And if you were to run the rope fast hrough your hands it’s gonna be painful.

Very good idea! I'm thinking to put some hot glue on the top and glue a pair of plastic sticks to hold the other part of the container, instead of tying it.

Hi, It’s nice to find new sailing vlogs. Following a channel from the beginning is exciting. And now we’re curious who you are. Best wishes from Marena and Roger on SY Argo
