Hello Musasia! Thank you for reaction and analysis on this instant Lucy Thomas classic, ‘One Moment in Time’. She continues to improve and sing some of the most challenging songs beautifully, making it look easy. Her breath control, vibrato, intonation, timbre, control, enunciation, and interpretation are the best. Lucy is simply the best. We have heard Lucy’s live performances on KZread and can attest that, unlike most singers, is better in person. On 22 October 2024 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s famous West End, Lucy will be performing with a thirty piece orchestral accompaniment. If you are able, you will not want to miss what will be a spectacular performance.

Nice voice but she sang it in a lower key and doesn’t have the power that Whitney had in her higher registers. Good voice but to claim better than Whitney ? Don‘t be a fool.

Whitney was amazing but became shrill and less musical. Lucy never becomes shrill or loses her musicality. Lucy could likely sing the same notes as Whitney but would also sacrifice musicality. In my opinion, Lucy is the better singer.

Whitney is technically in another league. Sry, Lucy lacks of power in the higher registers and even her head voice can‘t match Whitney’s. She sounds good but obviously you haven‘t heard a lot of Whitney’s live performances, screaming ? Nonsense. . Listen to „Saving all my love for you“ (live in Japan 1991) She‘s a a way more experienced vocalist - very versatile -with a Gospel background. And no, Lucy cannot sing it like Whitney did. I listened to her version . It was good but not as great as you claimed. Sry…

@@leroyrs Whitney is not in another league so don´t talk crap to try to prove your point .Lucy´s technic is master class .Being able to scream and shout doesn't mean you are technically better many singers scream to cover their inabilities .Lucy has perfect breath control, her vibrato is second to none her vocal tone is beautiful .She never needs to scream. Whitney was older than Lucy so had been in the industry longer that does not make her better. I accept that you may prefer Whitney which is fair enough every one has a right to their opinion .But don´t try to prove your point by talking crap .you obviously have no idea what you are talking about.

Hello Mr. Musasia...I just wanted to start off by saying thank you for your videos of Lucy Thomas reactions. I love how you do it twice. You know what your doing, you actually are a vocal coach so whenever I see a reaction from you I get so excited! I know how you feel, she just keeps surprising us right... which we should not be surprised (😊) I can't wait to see her in 5 years!! I hope and pray God continues to bless me with more time. Keep doing a wonderful job. You actually take the time to give us joy. Thank you for that. You enjoy it so much like I do. She's my therapy in a sense. She brings me joy, I listen to her and my stress and anxiety go away. I lost a sister named Lucy 3 years ago to Cancer. One day I discovered her and listened to "Hallelujah " and cried like a baby... but good tears. My sister was my other half. I lost my will for everything, I had a break down. Then I heard Lucy Thomas by coincidence and I let it all out. My life changed for the better after that day, so I am so grateful God heard my prayers and helped me heal. So thank you and all of Lucy Thomas fans!! 😊❤

This is not a cover. It was composed 20 years ago by Tjeerd Oosterhuis, but never published. He gave it to Emma, who, with Andre, adjusted it to meet their needs. This was the first time for it to be sung.

Thanks for this response, with enough constructive information. Well done. However, how do you come to the conclusion that this is a cover? Tjeerd Oosterhuis, the composer of this song, is well known in the Netherlands, and has, among others, also warrior written for her. Dancing on the Stars was composed by him 20 years ago, and has only now been released for the first time by Emma .So bsolutely no cover, too bad, an error that shouldn't have been made.

I enjoyed watching your reaction to this latest song from Emma, simply because I knew what was coming, and the effect it would have on you, and you didn't let me down, you responded with exactly the delight that I knew you would, Emma has that same effect on you as she does on me, her ability and strength is just stunning. I'd love to be able to type a longer and more specific response, but a wrist in a splint after a mishap here makes that impossible, but I can share some earlier comments that will point you in the right direction. Emma can be off the pumps for a maximum of two hours a day, for the shows with Andre, she usually sings two songs, and the second song has changed several times over the year, even in Maastricht it's been different, and during the Christmas concerts last year, she did more, but with a break and costume change between them. I suspect that a 'big song' takes a lot out of her, and although she doesn't talk much about the limitations she experiences, we know that at times, she ends up using a wheelchair, more than 2 flights of stairs, carrying the equivalent of a boat anchor, the ever present feeding pumps, or even things like a long walk at an airport, they're too much, and it was very evident recently after a feeding tube replacement that didn't go according to plan, Emma was clearly feeling the cold at the rehearsal a couple of days later, she is still tiny when compared to her peers, and she doesn't have the reserves of energy that would be normal for her age, but as has been said, she is a warrior, she refuses to be defined by her disease, and fights every inch of the way, and when I hear her sing those incredible words, 'It's good to be alive', it gets to me, her determination and resilience, and the way she's so positive so much of the time, it would be so easy to be defeated by this awful condition, many have been, and have taken their own lives as a result, but she refuses to let it get the better of her, and on Sunday, in an Instagram post, she was very visible in front of the stage with her family dancing to the music of part of the concert, albeit her dad was carrying the bag with her pumps in it. This song was written 20 years ago, before Emma was born, but it's been on the shelf, almost as if it were waiting for Emma, never performed by any other singer, and it very much suits both her and Andre with the orchestra, while she can and does sing pop, it's clear that the big orchestra as backing very much suits her singing style, and she's become even more powerful as a singer over the last year, those top notes, and for such length, I don't know how she does it, but she very much does, just sublime, and with the orchestra providing that incredible final section, it's classic Andre big climax, and Emma very much rises to the challenge. The rest of my comments are not original, typing is a big challenge right now, but it's important to me to give Emma the support and encouragement she deserves. Emma so beautifully did to you the same as she does to me, and millions more, it's one of the reasons why this song had reached nearly 3 million views since the release, the equivalent of a Maastricht concert of 12,500 people every hour for the last week, and why it will probably go on to have more views than Voila, which is still climbing the numbers, now in excess of 62 million in less than 12 months, Emma's natural ability to reach so deep into her audience, to speak so wonderfully, and to deliver incredible songs like this one, they are the reason for her popularity. Emma was honoured to be asked to perform as part of the annual commemoration events in May of this year to remember the huge number of lives lost liberating the Netherlands from German occupation in WWII, she sang at several events across the country, the most prominent being a duet with April Darby, singing ' When you believe', kzread.info/dash/bejne/i3tsubhqd6naj8Y.html This concert was in Amsterdam, in the presence of the Dutch Royal family, and a significant number of high ranking politicians, and she absolutely nailed the performance. For me, her strongest performance of this series was in the Hague, a Demi Levato cover of a technically challening song, 'Father', and she absolutely excelled in this one, an incredible performance. kzread.info/dash/bejne/rIyLpMxwXcjKh7g.html From the same concert, another cover, 'Hero', kzread.info/dash/bejne/pKOcspKPY6ipgrw.html From the same series of concerts, 'You raise me up', you have reacted to this performance, kzread.info/dash/bejne/gH2MpJmNksizpto.html In recent days, she sang the Dutch National Anthem at the Moto GP event at Assen, with the same military band who have been her backing in the recent commemoration concerts, she has ice in her veins, 110,000 people at the event, and a worldwide audience in the multiple hundreds of millions, and again she absolutely nailed the performance, and was also wearing beautiful attire, very classic, very much in keeping with her image. kzread.info/dash/bejne/o5ynq8xmmdqxpKg.html It was good to see that MotoGP gave her a significant contribution to her foundation. A complete change, just to give you a flavour of where she's come from, this next video was a part of a much longer concert arranged by her brother Enzo, Part of the Enzo concert in June 2020, so she was 12 at the time, and a tiny 12, 'Opportunity' kzread.info/dash/bejne/oYGt06WsZt3AgJc.html I love the way she ends it with a spoken, 'I guarantee', and that beautiful smile that says she absolutely meant it, and at the same time knew she's just nailed that performance, it happens a lot, that cute smile at the end of a significant performance, it was the same with Voila, she turned to Andre, arms wide, with a smile, no words, but it was clear what she meant, 'How was that?', and Andre's response said it all, one word, 'Fantatstic', the embrace and bringing her back for more of the standing ovation, a wonderful moment. A beautiful home video recorded several years ago during Covid, A Disney film cover, 'Part Of Your World' - @halle (The little mermaid) kzread.info/dash/bejne/m6is1Y-afty4erw.html Another song that is special to Emma because of her health situation, a Miley Cyrus cover, 'The Climb', recorded for Tube feeding week. kzread.info/dash/bejne/loOc3M59ddipcso.html When I Get There - @PinkVideoVault, a song about the passing of a very close friend, given Emma's own situation, so incredibly deep and moving, just incredible. Translation of the note in Dutch, Last night my dear friend Angela became a star! I'm going to miss you incredibly much, but every time I look at the starry sky I know you're looking back kzread.info/dash/bejne/YqJ90rBxZtDdZqg.html I hope this gives you a feel for where Emma has come from, and more importantly, where she's going, there is no doubt that as long as her health situation doesn't change, she will be making bigger and better waves for a long time to come, and it's clear that she is very happy and comfortable working with Andre and his orchestra at the moment, I am hoping that will continue beyond the end of the 2024 tour season, while it's also good that she can and does do other work outside of the significant demands of the world tour with Andre. I will close with my normal appeal to everyone reading or listening to this channel, and also apologise that my recent comments are more repetitive than usual, I'm struggling with typing as a result of an injury that has one wrist in a splint, but Emma still deserves and needs as much support as possible, her situation hasn't changed since that first appearance with Andre last July, she is still tied to her two external feeding pumps for 22 hours a day, and I know from recent social media posts, she finds that hard to cope with at times, despite that she's loving the singing with Andre. Emma deserves all the support she can be given, as her foundation works to help find better treatments, or even possibly a cure for this awful disease. Emma's foundation is almost unique in terms of the work they are doing, there's been very little research into a devastating illness, the effects on the sufferers are huge. Emma's foundation can be found at gastrostars.nl Please, if at all possible, join me in making a (regular) contribution to her foundation, to enable them to help patients like Emma, and research this awful disease that has affected her from birth, and requires her to be tied to the pumps and feeding tubes since she was 9 MONTHS old, for 22 hours a day, hopefully, the work of her foundation will find a cure. Please also be very careful, her increased visibility has resulted in significant numbers of bad actors creating fake accounts, and looking for money to fund 'special operations', or to get access to fan web sales or VIP event tickets on payment of a significant initial membership fee, they are ALL fake, the ONLY valid web site that supports Emma and others like her is the gastrostars site, and she NEVER makes private message appeals for donations or support, and NEVER sends messages asking you to log on to an external site to claim the wonderful ticket you've won by being a fan, they are all fake and fraudulent. One of the main people in Gastrostars is a surgeon who has a lot of experience in dealing with gastroparesis, and she is not only a surgeon, but also suffers from the same disease herself, to the extent that as a result of her condition worsening, she's had to leave her role in the hospital, and she is now dedicated to the foundation, and working to help find possible new treatments, or even better the cure that will free people like Emma to live a more normal life, rather than be tied to the feeding pumps for so many hours every day. It will be so good if the work of Emma's foundation can lead to a better treatment, or even a cure, which will free her to do more singing, and it may be people here who make that possible.

You must be having a great day Musasia, Emma Kok and Lucy Thomas on the same day. Lucy, as always, shows how you can take powerful songs and soften them, before unleashing the power for the high notes. This version is so different to what I have heard from others, slower and smoother and total control. Lucy understands that it isn’t just about the big notes, which is why her soft, lower notes are so special. ❤

Just a side-note: "Dancing on the stars" isn't a cover. The composer wrote it and mothballed it some 20 years ago, he pulled it out for Emma just recently and they (together with André) arranged it. So in a way it's both a brand new piece and older than Emma herself.
