Excellent and something I was looking for since ages! TY
You're welcome!
Thank you for doing these videos! I am learning a lot 😊
You are so welcome!
We are doing it right then! Yay!
Awesome !!! Thank you ! ❤️
Glad you like them! 😊
I'm doing the same as Bruce : trying to make each miniatures better than the previous one. I feel it's a really great mindset!
Absolutely! There is so much to get over-awed by in the hobby, all you can focus on is making each little improvement
Slow but steady progress with focus on improving from the last piece is defo a great way to get better!
Are you chaps based in London? I’m trying to find face to face painting coaches
Sadly not! Magnus is based in Denmark and Bruce in the North West. Good luck on your search for a tutor!
fantastic video!
Glad you liked it!
Quickly becoming one of my favorite painting channels!
Wow, thank you!
Thank you for high quality material on painting such scale! It's really useful. And relating to paints you talked about - it's really one of my biggest bugbear - when there a moderate amount of water in the palette, paint gets diluted too much after 30-60min of painting and turns to colored puddle. When there are less water - paint gets chunky and paint leaves the brush poorly (especially on tiny brushes like 00 or 000). When trying to revive such paint with some amount of water it turns to glazes and still difficult to setup required paint condition so have to add new drop fro the bottle. Very nice to see how good, soft and nice blending on your models! You do really great woks for all painters society! Cheers!
Thank you, it means more to us than you know. I will say, it isn’t that easy for me either controlling exact consistency on the palette, and sometimes I find they dry out too quickly. I tend to keep the main puddle a bit thicker than intended and the take from the edge of that. I also make a fresh palette every painting session (mostly😂)
@@magnusnielsen7599 I'm struggling with paints drying on the brush by using HQ brushes of the bigger size (1-2) but with really sharp and precise tip. Unfortunatelly it helps only for one project (and if it's quite big than still might need to take a new one to keep adding sharp details). If only we have an universal recipy for such matters :D Anyway, thank you again for your work!
This armor is sick😮
Thank you so much for saying ❤️
aquilla
Isn't that a Dark Angel?
Salamander 👀
Thanks for sharing guys. My own story is a mix of the both of you, I've only been into the hobby a couple of years, and only decided to really push the last year or so. Loving this channel and the like-mindedness of you both and my own need to constantly improve. Keep up the great work guys 💪
Thank you! Be sure to check in and share your progress!
That means a lot! Thank you for the kind words :)
Stunning ❤
Thank you! Cheers!
Gorgeous
😁
Thank you! I really like the look it ended up having in relation to the armor :)
Holy shit how did you get that armor? I wish my mini looked like that
We have tutorials for the panelling on the main channel 😁
Better add that music because the reality of this is that there's nothing badass occurring hahahaha so better add that vibe. Painting is fun but not rave fun.
Thanks for the feedback!
What mini is this?
Hi! It's Jain Zar
@GitGudPainting looks great 💪 red is popping and the white armour has a lot of depth while still reading as white 👏 the blend gods have smiled upon you
I recently followed you on IG and love your work. I'm so glad you have this channel because there's not that much free content to this quality. thank you!
I appreciate that! Thank you!
Breathtaking work once again. Well done Sir.
Many thanks!
Epic! thanks for sharing. Keen to see your channel grow
Thank you so much!
Great video on setting up a wet palette, and we are proud you enjoy our wet palettes! Thank you!
Is it really a painting desk without a Red Grass Palette somewhere on it?
Damn ! I thought i knew how to use my wet palet but i had it wrong on the paper handling and the water quantity. Thanx !
You're very welcome!
Absolutely wonderful texture on the blade. Fantastic work.
Thank you very much!
Thank you, I like that it gives a bit of an added interest to the blade :)
Happy to be part of the niche in a niche 😆
The best place to be 😁
Love your videos. Keep it up.
Really looking forward to this episode! Not only great painting chat but the lore is spot on too!
I am sure Bruce is pretty pleased about this one!
100% Lore Accurate 100% of the time.
Another great episode. Fast becoming my favorite hobby podcast.
Glad you enjoy it!
I think we are way past middle-age with the amount of Redbull Magnus consumes 😂
It's a miracle he makes it through each day.
@@GitGudPainting The doctors are all in shock!
Hey! I am right here!
Great vid guys, keep em coming! 😋
We will!
We have Reynolds, you have world class miniature painting teachers. haha
It’s a fair trade!
I follow you in Instagram too! i love your works! Thanks for sharing your minis! ❤
Thank you! ❤️
Thank you man! That means a lot
Go forward! One of the best channels I’ve seen for long time on YT. Your channel is Gold!
Wow, thanks!
Thank you so much. Means more than you think!
Im from denmark, and i have been struggeling with finding parchment paper with the right properties, maybe you have a tip for that, more soo because Magnus is danish :P
Hi Zaxens! Magnus currently uses Reynolds Parchment Paper which he had to import. Looking at Amazon, you can get three rolls for about 170 Danish Krone, which is quite pricey but should be enough for a few years of painting.
Hey man! I'll keep it in english just so others can understand, but.. I stuggled the same. 'Madpapir' splits when you mix and lets paint seep through and a lot of 'Bagepapir' for ovens let nothing through at all. I used brown bakingpaper for quite some time, but it was never perfect. I defo recommend getting some rolls of Reynold's. While it does cost something to import I think it is well worth and it is better than Redgrass original paper and it outperforms any kind of baking/parchment I have tried, and I have tried A LOT! Depending on how often you paint, I'd say a roll of Reynold's should last you maybe a year or something like that :)
@@magnusnielsen7599 thank you, is there any specific type of reynolds or are there only one kind, so that i dont end up ordering the wrong kind :P
I use the one that is Reynold’s Parchment. Mine has cutting grids, but it doesn’t have to have that
@@magnusnielsen7599 thank you :P (takker) :P
What a lovely video. I've owned and used a wet pallet for a couple of years now, but I have always been uncertain of how much water I needed to put into it, and I didn't consider flipping the paper to get it wet on both sides. I'll look forwards to you guy's video on thinning paints. I feel i often struggle with them getting to wet on my pallet.
Glad it was helpful! We're hoping to get the thinning paints video out very soon!
What brush and size do you use? I need one for this level of detail 🙂
Magnus used a size 00 and a size 1 Rafael 8404 brush for this one!
Amazing work
That..... I hardly have words. Not only is this one of the best paintjobs I've seen in 40 years of hobbying, but it is exactly the scheme I needed to see for a similar project I'm working on. Thank you SO MUCH.
Wow, thanks! Comments like this mean the world to us!
Thanks for another great one! I'm experimenting with various wet palette material. What sponge and type of Reynolds paper do you use?
I use the sponge that comes with the redgrass palette, but I actually stack two of them on top to get more water in there. The Reynold’s is parchment paper sent by a good friend from the US :) Bruce is working on a video on wet palettes in general, where I show what I use :)
@@magnusnielsen7599 Thanks for the speedy reply! Looking forward to that video
Wow, absolute banger. I’m trying to recreate the armor. Been struggling quite a lot
Thanks for the feedback! Let us know what you're struggling with and we'll try to break it down!
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
Really nice video. Just stumbled upon them and binged them all. Great way to show some awesome work👌👍
Binge away! We're hoping to release a lot more in thr coming weeks!
Aww, this is the stuff that motivates! Thx a bunch, it means more than you know!
Please, for the love of god, write a script! It's hard to follow this way because my ADHD brain keeps wandering away, while you definitely seem to know what you're doing...
Howdy! Thanks for the feedback! While the 'Getting Started' videos are heavily scripted to ensure the important information is conveyed to beginners, we've consciously opted to keep the guides unscripted so you can get an idea of what Magnus is thinking through every step of painting the miniature. We appreciate this approach isn't for everybody though!
Nice piece of work 😍😍
Thank you so much 😀
thanks for the videos and the channel, keep the good work! What brushes do you recommend?
Thank you for the question! Personally I use Windsor and Newton Series 7s and Artist Opus Series S, both in Size 1, 0 and 00. Magnus uses Rafael Series 8404 and Artist Opus Series S, in sizes 1 and 00. Saying that, it's well worth trying different brushes to see which ones you like - though it's hard to go wrong with those as a starting point.
This stuff is genius in minipainting! Gorgeus!😇
Thank you! 😊
Nice u got a sub.
