The “queer” aspect of the video is actually a bit different from what people in the west see it as. There is some form of playful emotion/relationship between the same sex (particularly women) that perhaps lies between friendship and love in Korea, Japan, etc. Most in Korea won’t see this and think it’s some sort of push for LGBT rights. FYI, I believe the two girls were having a crush on the same drummer girl.

I think people over thinking the reference of movie, especially the "sacrifice" part, but the real message is "be with us", that's Red Velvet calling everyone after 10 years. I real like this song, especially the chorus, so emotional, so much feeling, it reflects 10 years of up down, happy and sadness of red velvet. Also maybe because I grew up learning ABBA, I like it instantly.

I didn't even realize there was a movie lol. I just knew a slight bit about the festival as an actual midsommar festival. I agree, it is a really good song and I'm glad I'm not the only one who felt some ABBA influence in this haha. I actually didn't grow up learning ABBA but I was exposed to them through another group called the ATeens who basically covered ABBA (though I didn't know it for awhile til my dad recognized all of the songs lol)

OK, now I have some info that might answer some questions you had. This song went to the top of my main playlist. Freaking Amazing song, I'm obsessed. I saw their bts and seulgi gave a rundown. Tho the aesthectics is based on midsommar, they have their own twist. Seulgi is the human representation of the planet, she doesn't want to be lonely cause the people leave at night. So she wants the summer day to last forever, keeping the people with her. The person on the palanquin is the one being sacrificed in the horror movie (I think, since I didn't know the movie existed) I swear, redvelvet is such a singularity with their concepts, lyrics, and vocals. This song is funny to me because it's one of the few songs that most people can not only relate to one side of the story but both. Mainly because they have seen someone on both sides of the story line and some have been on both sides of the story at different times. It's a modern day Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad with a more up tempo beat to it.

Oh theres a deep story there always is when its a 2 parter... my theory in short is the Bunny is Hyeins true alien form (from the bunny shaped ufo).. hyein is her human disguise but for some reason only the boy can see her as no one else interacts with her entire video. Bunnys creepy look reminds me Frank the Rabbit from the movie 'donnie darko' in that movie frank is a supernatural entity who only donnie can see.. much like only the boy can see hyein... the film is also about time travel and if you watch closely the dance scenes keep flipping from 80s to present day with the mics being switched for smartphones 1:56. The lyrics suggest a relationship being 'supernatural' possibly alluding to the boy and alien bunny hyein. Theres a scene where hyein is seen looking 'ghostly' sitting to the left of the screen holding an alien 2:42. Minji, Haerin, Hanni, Dani and 'the guy' seem to be paranormal investigators as at the start they get out of a van laden with equipment on top and 'supernatural' written on it along with logo (like the ghostbusters ecto-1 car).. its likely they are investigating the supernatural goings on in the city with the strange weather, zebra unicorn and UFO activity... thats my short version theory. we will find out more laer today when part 2 is released... i have a longer version of the theory which explains more but it will probably bore you :P

My interpretation of the lyrics are more like how you first thought, that it's about them getting ready to light up the stage. The "make you mine" lines are them telling the audience that they will capture you in their moment. Super Junior are masters of the stage and can make any audience they are in front of theirs, even if they weren't there for them in the beginning. The song has a lot of hype to it and gets you going from the start. Essentially, they are saying, "We've got the talent, the energy, the experience, and everything else you might need to make these next moments with us ones you won't forget. We're ready, so join us, and let's go!"

Oh gosh if his is your 1st time hearing SJ, you are in for a wild ride! as you said it's almost impossible to be into Kpop and not know about them, they are everywhere! They are unavoidable! FUN is the perfect word to describe SJ, they know the have the talent and the vocals to be able to just be fun! (they can be a bit clownish at times). I tried to read the comment before posting, but there so many that I don't know if someone said the this marks the beginning of SJ 3.0, thats why it's a new SJ. Yes I do think you have the right ref for the 69. For the make you mine, yes, they are quite possessive with ELF (the fandom- EverLasting Friends) they don't get jealous if ELF likes other groups, as long as we know we are ELF above all, the do get jealous if we like some member that's not themselves. SJ has its own personality, their own style and that's what makes them great! 💙

ELF usually gets along with other fandoms because we also know how to make fun of ourselves (we had great role models). Also SJ interacting with other idols (male and female) is really fun and wholesome, because you see they care about the younger ones (they will just tease the older ones, just ask Rain 🤣). The whole SJ 3.0 is their theme going on the 20th anniversary, they talk about on their youtube show SJ returns 💙

I love when groups can just be goofy and have fun. Eles são maravilhosos e estão ativos até hoje. O Show deles são incríveis, são divertidos, pela personalidades quanto as músicas mas eles são cantores e compositores fenomenais. Tive a sorte de ir ao Show deles e ver toda a magia ao vivo.Eles tem vozes bem singulares mas as harmonizações são impecáveis. Eles foram os criadores das “sub-units”, então os vocalistas criaram uma sub-unit para baladas (com direito a albums e turnes) e os dois dançarinos fizeram outra (além de várias outras que eles fizeram pois eles tinham 13 membros e 2 que faziam apenas parte da sub-unit Super Junior M). Atualmente eles “debutaram” na 5th geração com uma nova sub unit kkkkkkkkkkk. The song is a lot of fun, bright, cheery. The girls have great vocals and visuals. But the video... there's some certainly questionable choices in there.

Oh gosh if his is your 1st time hearing SJ, you are in for a wild ride! as you said it's almost impossible to be into Kpop and not know about them, they are everywhere! They are unavoidable! FUN is the perfect word to describe SJ, they know the have the talent and the vocals to be able to just be fun! (they can be a bit clownish at times). I tried to read the comment before posting, but there so many that I don't know if someone said the this marks the beginning of SJ 3.0, thats why it's a new SJ. Yes I do think you have the right ref for the 69. For the make you mine, yes, they are quite possessive with ELF (the fandom- EverLasting Friends) they don't get jealous if ELF likes other groups, as long as we know we are ELF above all, the do get jealous if we like some member that's not themselves. SJ has its own personality, their own style and that's what makes them great! 💙

They've really done so well for themselves to have such a loyal fan base who can/will follow them where they go and then come back together for the group! I don't actually think anyone mentioned the 3.0 part. I could be wrong but I believe you're the first. And lol a little cute jealousy is fun. Love that!
@@JeffReacts12 Ohhh they are ELFs as well!! Yuqi is like our vice president, because Changmin from TVXQ is the real president and honorary 16th member! ELF usually gets along with other fandoms because we also know how to make fun of ourselves (we had great role models). Also SJ interacting with other idols (male and female) is really fun and wholesome, because you see they care about the younger ones (they will just tease the older ones, just ask Rain 🤣). The whole SJ 3.0 is their theme going on the 20th anniversary, they talk about on their youtube show SJ returns 💙
@-Pam hahaha I love Yuqi so much. I've not reacted to TVXQ before but they're on my request queue so I'll finally hear something from them in the not too distant future. I love when groups can just be goofy and have fun. Groups like BTOB, Highlight, Infinite... apparently Super Junior is this way as well ❤️ some groups take themselves so seriously but it's really refreshing to see the ones that cut loose and have a good time teasing each other and such lol

@-Pam lol once you've been with a company for bout 7 or 8 yrs, making fun of the ceo comes with the territory 😂 you're either close like family OR you're making the ceo enough money that they can stand a little hurt feeling lol. I love that tho, like when Twice always teases JYP 🤣
