What a self-important, egotistical shrew. This woman is an expert in the humble (and not so humble) brag, cloaking her boastfulness in the guise of repentance. She constantly refers to herself as a professor, yet she was a professor for only 10 years, and ended that career over 20 years ago. She loves talking about how she teaches her university students, yet she hasn't had university students in over 20 years. Her assertions, many of them theologically erroneous, are filled with inner circle jargon and "I" statements, and she never misses an opportunity to drop exclusive lingo like "covenant marriage, creation mandate, teleological, ontological," etc. And the ultimate arrogance is her thinking that she can sit in judgement of John Piper. It's obvious that all she has done is transfer the loud stridency of her former gay activism onto her current Puritan activism. She has a lot of head knowledge (which she loves to show off), but that doesn't seem to have given her any true humility or grace or love. Jesus had a couple of things to say about people like that.

“No room for nuance!” Hmmmmmm… and Christian’s are full of nuance, right? You are happy to provide alternative explanations and reasons for core doctrine like the resurrection, right? Is there any nuance in your view over marriage? Gender roles? Gender? Or are you a bit rigid about those things? I think what you mean to say is that you expect nuance from those deconstructing from your non nuanced, dogmatic, bigoted worldview. Quit insulting the intelligence of everyone that doesn’t believe your superstition.

Study the Bible chapter by chapter verse by verse , the only skipping to other chapters & verses should be those referenced in the appendix, the proper Hebrew Greek translation and definition and have an open mind to look into every interpretation to make one's own mind up based on how it locks into the teachings of Christ. Recently I Found Esdras 2 chpt 7 and Matt 7 to be the same teaching of the Narrow hard path to Heaven.

One problem i have with the death penalty is that we have to draw a line on what we consider an "unforgivable" crime. Depending on the system or leadership we operate under, that can be a slippery slope.

@@jesusrocks256 yes it was 😂 Just because we have the ten commandments, doesn't mean justice is 100% accurate. Unless GOD HIMSELF was the one passing judgement, and punishment, then it was flawed. Flawed and sinful humans cannot be entrusted with a decision of another man's life. Now get your religion out of my logic, thank you. 😂😂

ALL THIS! Just for a few to praise Him? If God only allowed a million to live, basically only 1,000 are going to Heaven. I just can’t get passed trillions of souls over time that God apparently knew were going to fail Him burning in hell for ETERNITY!!?? That’s like my wife and I being told that if we have children, there is a 50/50 chance that each child could be down syndrome or have some kind of deformity or illness, but we go ahead and have 20 kids anyway. Why would we do that to all those other children that are unfortunate? All their suffering for their whole lives just for us to have a few normal kids…and we don’t want them because they aren’t what we expect so we build a barn to lock them in with no AC. God has to be more loving, caring, and considerate than this. Forgiveness is so important, but all the sudden it won’t be?!

I listen to way too many podcasts. But this was SO good! I love that she always brings things back to repentance and killing your sin. This is the transformative power of the gospel that is so rarely taught! That point is why there are so many people who sit in Bible teaching churches for years, and yet their lives are not changed. One point that I wish had been explained was the "regulative principle of worship." Going forward, please always define terms. Not all of us may know them. I believe it has to do with the fact that Scripture regulates how we are to worship? But no one ever goes into detail about what that exactly entails. I've always been lost on this. Anyway, thank you again. Rosaria Butterfield and I are only a few years apart, but I still want to be her when I grow up. This is how I long to live my life. I want to love and serve Christ completely. And I fall so far short that, most days, it leaves me in despair.

I appreciated so much that she said how hard it was to always be giving her testimony. I've always wondered about that with people. It has to get to you, having to revisit dark, painful times in your past and having to do it over and over and over. I respect her for being honest about the toll it took on her. I greatly appreciate her ministry, but I understand when people need to take a step back. It has to be exhausting emotionally. And, as she said, the spiritual battle has to be intense. We don't talk about that enough! We put people like her on a pedestal, as though they no longer struggle. We will always struggle in this life. Only Christ is our anchor and strength.
