Great video - I was looking to fish Mountsberg for the first time this year, likely early season for crappie / pan fish before pike and bass open. Have you ever targeted panfish in the reservoir and are there lots in there? Not sure if I would be wasting my time......

You can if you want. You can always take fish to the cooks to prepare. I give fish to the guys on the catamarans. If I'm by myself, I just release them. Also depends on the type of fish, some are better for eating than others. Barracudas aren't the best. Cheers

As a general rule, I go with 4" minnow baits for stained water (white or black) and 2.5" (white or natural) for clear water.

Nice. I use Penn slammer tho. Its been underwater a few times off my kayak in the Carolines and No problem! 8 years still making big kills - no cudas, we talking blue fins and giant spanish macs…Shimano tends to drown and for the price paid its a big loss.

The surf rod is great for casting heavier baits from shore. Even for trolling. It's too big for boat casting or for casting smaller baits.

I have a 9' MH fast action 3/8 - 1oz rod. It's a St. Croix salmon and steelhead series which they have since discontinued.

@@popofishing Thank man. I was leaning on something just like that. A lami x11 or bass pro fish eagle. Both are in the 9'6” to 10' medium fast action. If your jigging from shore I imagine you need something stiffer. Me and buddy are going up there around the 22 to 26. Figure I would give lure fishing a go this time. I usually fly and drift fish.

@@jeffknowles3952 Yes you definitely want something on the stiffer size. You will be throwing jigs or spoons in the 3/8 to 3/4oz range depending on the current. May is the best time to lure fish as the water temps come up.

A 20 min ride is complimentary when you stay in an all-inclusive resort. They will offer to sell you a 2h fishing trip but you don't have to do that. 20 min is enough time to troll for fish there.

Nekoliko sekundi (5-6). Ali ako vidis da se varalica kaci previse kad uvlacis onda smanji koliko cekas. Nije crno bijelo. Mora se malo eksperimentisati.

Pozdrav. Bacao sam kasiku od 1oz jer je struja jaka. U rijekama je idealno ako kasika moze da radi u struji malo iznad dna. Posto jacina struje varira u Nijagari, tehnika se mora podesiti da bi se ovo postiglo. Ja sam ovdje zabacio i samo pustio da voda nosi kasiku. U ovom slucaju nebi ni docekao da kasika udari dno jer struja to nebi dozvolila. Kako kasika prilazi obali, polako ce ulaziti u sve plicu vodu i tad se mora malo umotavati da bi ostala iznad dna.

I always use a swivel but not a snap-swivel. The swivel connects the main line to the leader. If the water is very clear, I will tie the spoon directly to the leader but in most cases I will use a snap to connect the spoon to the leader. Makes sense?

I don't want to disclose locations because locals in that area will not be happy with me. In general though, walleye are present in all lower stretches of the Grand river. Just look for deeper pockets of water. Late May and early June is the best time of year for walleye.

@@popofishing Same. I was gonna pick up a 9'6 H Legend Elite Salmon rod, but found out they're also discontinued. It seems St Croix is leaving the Steelhead/Salmon market. I'm gonna try out the Lamiglas Salmon/Steelhead Infinity and SI line up and see if they're any good.

Nice to see you finally post a new video. It's also nice to see Bronx catching some big fish as well. Say hi to him. Hopefully you make some Salmon videos this fall and late summer. I noticed in your other videos that you were using the T4 centerpin reel but I couldn't tell which rod you were using. Was it a CTS Affinity? It was hard for me to tell... Right now I'm using a G.Loomis GLX 13' 6-10Lb float rod that I ordered from Jim of centerpinangling.com, with a John Wilson Heritage centerpin reel. Back in 1999 I bought my first centerpin reel, it was an Adcock Stanton and I had it on a custom Lamiglas 13' float rod. When you, Alex and I went fishing under the 'culvert' back in 2013, you called it a carp rod but it was actually a custom Lamiglas designed for steelhead fishing lol...... Anyways, how about we all get together this fall and slay some salmon and steelhead. cheers

I would say minnow imitations work the best on the Niagara. I once had a hit on a pink worm but haven't tried it too many times after I started using minnow imitations.
