The Live Ultralight Podcast is all about inspiring you to get outdoors and teaching you how to lighten your pack so you can go on more adventures.
We largely focus on backpacking and things that are interesting to backpackers, but occasionally we delve into other adventure and travel topics as well. In addition, we aim to feature interesting and inspiring guests all around the backpacking, travel, and adventure space.

Looking forward to using these on Kilimanjaro next month!
Good Luck
Placed order… Can’t wait to take them for a spin on the CT
Will there be a womens version?
Not on the first run.
The talk of wind pants makes me hope you do think about releasing some sort of 2oz or less option with ankle zips. But, more importantly.. when are we gonna see the OV Overmitts/Rain Mitts?? I need those!
Yes!!
Ordered as soon as I woke up to the email notification, can't wait!
Ditto! My trust in OV products is second to none.
Awesome! Thank you!
Tayson, you were such a HUGE part of the race and Jeff’s documentary about it. I first saw you in Justin’s vids. When you popped up the movie it was super exciting and you friggin killed it. As a huge Jeff fan, thank you! Loved that story
Thanks for the kind words
Virtually amazing life accomplishments. Wonder about his family.
Good content, also people that do a lot of cardio , when at rest should see a lower number of beats per minute, this is called athletic heart syndrome which is good!!
I love the interface of my Applewatch with my iPhone and my Garmin Instict with my other Garmin devices and app. Struggling to justify the cost of a Coros and giving up my Applewatch as my day to day watch.
Very interesting, I've had my eye on a Coros for a while.
Hope you like it!
You cut your beard!
You guys have done it! You’ve persuaded me to order a Fortius Tent 1p tent and a Skyline 30 despite the £55 postage to the hills of Wales 🏴 (UK) I’m sure it will be worth it, no other company seems to do as much rigorous testing of their gear, and if they do, they don’t show it in as fun and less ‘salesperson’ way that you guys do. Thank you
Thanks for the support.
One guy here doesn’t have to worry about sauce dropping on his chest. 😮 Amazing beard! Does he need less chin protection?
Sounds like a really wonderful trip with great people! So sorry to have missed this one. But thanks for the invite! You guys are the best. Congrats, Derek, and have a wonderful trip!
Next time!
@@liveultralightpodcast 100% count me in! This looked like such a fun trip. Really glad you all pulled it off.
Such an awesome trip and really appreciate you guys pulling it off. It was awesome meeting all the other KZreadrs, but it was also great to get to hang out and chat with the OV team again.
Our pleasure!
I have watched some of the videos from a few of the participants. I have been hoping you would do one too. Great idea to get more people exposed to your wonderful gear. I love mine, and am slowly getting more of your products. In my opinion they are the best on the market, and have improved our comfort a lot. Keep up the good work. I love your videos, too! Thank you
Awesome! Thank you for the support.
“A little bit of climbing” -Tayson 😂 This trip was SO much fun though. Thanks for making it happen! I learned a bunch too… like did you know the Satu pants have vents?!? 😂
Glad you enjoyed it!
That group picture for the thumbnail is awesome!
All credit to Eric Hanson!
Enjoyed
Listened in Apple podcast earlier today. Sounded like a blast! Cant even imagine!
I like these long conversations I can just listen to on my runs. Hope to do at least r2r someday!
Sweetest, most positive team ever! And they had a great podcast!
Agreed.
Incredible “ Docurunnermy .” Loved every second of the footage! You can go ahead and use my descriptive term if you’d like, lol!
Done!
Thanks mucho for the info guys, very interesting to hear the great stories and personal takes on nutrition and approaches that work, or not, for you; I'll soon be turning 60 and just aspire to going as fast and as far as I can with training continuously and races
Happy to help!
I just wanna know what shirt you was wearing on the trip you just did with the influencers. It was a purplish colored shirt.

I’m gonna go out on a crazy limb here …. And say he’s a rich kid nepo baby. I’ll Google it now and I just know I’m gonna find out it’s true. Lovely guy sure. But it’s just crystal clear …
Great, podcast will save it for my long runs
♥
The guy on the left looks like he's on trail in a court lol
Using both the vario and the ventus. I use the ventus as an outer layer in the summer nights where is cool but not as cool and the vario as an all rounder for the fall and winter months. Both are amazing products. Thank you!
Thanks for sharing!
Inspiring guy 👍great food for thought 👍
Glad you think so!
Hunter and his pops were awesome on Race to Survive Alaska. Excited for this episode!
Love this information, I just got used to 12 mile day hikes over in South Carolina and I have the goal to do section hikes of the smokey mountain portion of the Appalachian trail next year. Thanks for giving actionable tips!
Glad it was helpful!
Dang Tayson, is that a knock on my JMT itinerary?! Kidding, kidding. But there is definitly a balance of taking your time to see what you want to see and dealing with work, family, and other demands! So if I've signed up for this year, how do I get access to the FB group? Has that opened up for the '24 cohort?

Tried to join. The checkout wouldn’t let me use my accumulated store credit. I sent a message to OV support. Hopefully it’s just a glitch!
Did this get worked out for you?
@@liveultralightpodcast yes. Customer service was great.
Damn.. is Tyler the same guy in all of the older vids? He looks great. He's lost a bunch of weight. You guys are low key transforming into savages!
Thanks.
Fantastic conversation! I do have one question, though. Typically, on the Camino de Santiago, people stay at albergues (a system of pilgrim hostels) instead of camping. Would that style of backpacking trip be disqualified for the challenge because there's no camping?
Good question! The stacked hikes do need to be a series of overnight camping trips.
So, just to be clear, staying at albergues on the Camino de Santiago would qualify if it’s not stacked?
I've been anticipating this episode, awsome to hear it right away.
Enjoy
Great presentation of OV past and future.
Thanks
We had so much fun taking with you, Tayson! Thanks for having us on.
Us too!
I always say “if you’re gonna fail, make it fkn epic!”
Great pod! Extended run by 30 minutes to finish. Can’t get enough of Jeff’s recounting of the race
Glad you enjoy it!
Awesome POD! I love how just (I say just) but just pacing Jeff in this amazing adventure brings out so much passion. I can’t wait to see what the plans are for 2024!
Glad you enjoy it!
Greetings from sunny Florida where we have a ton of concrete trails

I am still upset of never receiving my pillow. Oh well we must move on. I'm looking forward to seeing your 2024 releases.
Email us to see what happened.
I just finally picked up the membership, Ive been super impressed by the stuff you guys have been putting out the last couple of years. Will be buying the Skyline here when it starts warming up. Can't wait.
Much appreciated!
