Bought my 2015 S8 about 8 months ago. It has everything this one has plus the audio package. Unbelievable car. Getting into the throttle pins you in your seat and you're over a hundred before you realize it. Comfort, steering, braking, acceleration, are all top tier as you would expect. But the ride and comfort is on another level, luxury at it's best. My only complaint is how quiet it is. There is no way to open the exhaust valves all the time and this thing is really quiet for a 520HP V8. Even if you do put it into dynamic mode or set the individual engine sound, it reverts back when you shut it off and even with the engine set to dynamic, there's a noticeable difference in the sound when the car is set to sport. The problem with that is, sport mode is for zipping around and the engine revs like you're racing when you just want to cruise with the engine louder. No idea why they chose to make you struggle to bring this engine sound out. On top of that, been pricing exhausts for it and it'll run you around 4 grand for a decent one. Overall though this is a beautiful car. Polished and fast, great to drive. Just wish they had made it with more options to get better exhaust.
Bro where are the downshifts
So what we’ve learned is you like bmw better lol
Where did I say that I like one over the other? I just pointed out both of the car's strong points.
@@DMCarReviews Several times you mentioned bmw doing things better, and you also responded to commenters suggesting bmw models to check out. Based on this info,it can be inferred that you prefer bmw and that’s not a bad thing. But let’s check those biases.
What’s that rattling on acceleration
Something exhaust related
26 Slim Jim boxes
?
The whistling sound comes from the transmission, not the engine, that's well known. Some of Honda's 4 and 5 speed autos do that normally. This TL is in very good shape.
It sure is!
Just picked up a 2002 CLK 430. Next I am looking for a clean low miles SL 55 AMG :)
Congratulations!
Why the fuck would Honda discontinue this car it's the saddest thing I've ever seen in my fucking life...
Bad decision on their end.
great review, I have owned and driven Volvo 240's since 1981, and nothing comes close to them, currently own a 89 240DL with 400K on it and that year most of the speedos read slower, if i am doing 100 kph it is actually 92kph and i have had it checked both by GPS and a certified shop when accused of speeding and fought it and won , i would love to find a 93 240 being thee last year of production they had a ton of extras no other model years got, like the heated/electric mirrors and also the big one to me factory LSD, especially here in the Canadian winters, the head units always sucked and wasn't uncommon to see aftermarket units installed, I did get a Alpine head unit for mine with full cellphone compatible and a command start for winter and these cars have wood stoves for heaters , nothing comes close unless your talking a high end car from Europe, i worked for Volvo Canada for 2 years back in the late 80's, I got the job because i owned a 1978 Volvo 242 GT, 🤣 it was a cool gig for the times in my twenties and didn't really have any cares, just fun, everyone has been there, tons of parts still available for the 240 cars, you'd be surprised, one cosmetic weakness of the 240's were the cracked dashes , it was just a design flaw and pretty much the only one in my opinion , I have driven my 89 240 DL from Winnipeg to Vancouver twice by myself almost non stop with no complaints and it cruised at 70-80 mph with ease and got its best fuel economy at 74 mph, if you get one with the 5 speed M47 transmission you'll easily improve that by 5 mpg or more they sell now for crazy money , last year my mechanic 2 brothers who use to own a Volvo franchise here in Winnipeg bought an 89 240 DL like mine this one was red with the graphite interior which they sold to the owner new in 89 and was serviced only by the dealer [them] he passed away they bought it off his estate for $4000.00 CDN it had just under 110kms so 68,000 miles they did a full safety inspection on it and only needed from callipers ,rotors and pads, i would have bought it that day for $6400 bucks if had the money and they sold it the following Monday to an OG Volvo customer that i knew for $7500 bucks a sweet deal really not a scratch or chip on the paint anywhere, if you could buy this car from this guy you could have it for an easy 15 years, you'd grow tired of it before it grows tire of you, old Volvo slogan i heard in Sweden ,LOL, they still build great cars with longevity, too much tech for me and too much money 👍 thx for the great video now on my holidays i am going to replace all of my rear suspension bushings and original front shocks, thats longevity
Thank you for watching! They are great cars. I also worked for Volvo back in college, for a few years. I even had a 2005 Volvo XC70 2.5T too.
Had e55 for 4 years now LOVE THIS CAR
I ordered that car with the same specs but realized that there's not the M sport pro package with the bigger brakes in red and other details (tinted windows and headlights). Do you think it's worth it? I feel like it's a fail that this option is not in my build.
I wouldn't worry about it :)
Thinking bout buying this for my first car …
What a gem, looks really nice... shame we don't have the Accord anymore in Europe let alone a nice V6. If only they'd offer it in a manual transmission though. How does the automatic 6 speed feel like? AFAIK it's CVT so you don't really feel the changes? I'm genuinely curious since I've only driven manuals.
I liked the 6-speed. I think it's a great gearbox.
I'm more of a toyota guy but I will say this is the best vehicle Honda has ever made imo....maybe not the new one tho
4.33 lol. My 36k sedan destroys that. 3.78 ain’t nothing either
98% of people who buy cars of this class are not in a race. They already made it everywhere :)
i have that exact car lol
Maybe it's the same one?
great video man love your comentary!
Thank you for watching!
Great video. How much is it cost?
Thank you for watching! Not sure, but I'm guessing 6-7k?
YEAH baby-----Hybrid with TRD wheels! Niiiiice! Get your hands on a 2025 soon pls.
Will try to!
I bought a 2006 TL in 2006. I drove her for 168K trouble free miles. I miss my TL. These cars are built to last. Good power. Great looking car to this day. Mine was a 6 speed manual. Rare and tons of fun. Great HID headlights. I highly suggest you pick one up for your kids first car.
It is a great all around car!
This car checks a lot of the important boxes........except that rear glass and it's position and size (which reduces rear visibility tremendously.)
is that a n52?
Could be!
5.3 liter v-8 followed by a 4-speed automatic transmission with an overdrive
Correct!
I've got a 2005. Doesn't have all the bells and whistles, but it's by far my favorite car. Wasn't kept up before I got it and it still runs well anyway. I find it funny that you said it doesn't get you in the racing mood. I beat a guy in a little street race with my Pilot lol. She's my champ 🥺
No brake boost. Makes the launch 0-60 invalid. Mines 4.6 stock. 4.2 stage 1
It won't do under 5s even with launch, stock.
My Mom Got 2012 Honda Accord
Please drive a 2018-2020 mazda 6 grand touring or signature, i'll probably buy it this year
Why does it say on the internet it’s 6.4/6.6 or is this model the 1.5?
That's what they claim for this car...
Was gonna buy this then went with the kia forte instead. Both manuals but the kia has a 6 speed manual, an arm rest, and doesn't feel shaky at 65 mph+
Why didn’t you start it?
Battery was dead.
@@DMCarReviews but it was started
The sonata n line is something you just gotta review and try out. I test drove one it’s definitely a lot more interesting.
Just a quicker Sonata.
@@DMCarReviews but it’s super fun and exciting to drive. Idk why. They definitely came to compete with that car. The exhaust is crazy. The shifts are almost European like.
Bad sound
It's not a sports car.
@@DMCarReviews no bad mic setup
was it ticking?
lifter tick
In all this highway driving it should me mentioned he's in a 40 year old car, which speaks to the maintenance as much as the original quality of the car. The steering is self-centering as a result of being fully powered, there is no mechanical connection between the steering wheel and the rack when the system is pressurized. Additionally, the DIRAVI was the first speed-sensitive steering, becoming harder as speed increases (originally introduced in 1970 with the SM). It's also very quick steering, just 2.4 turns lock to lock. Thus you 'think' you way through turns, you must turn the wheel back (well, control the return) or risk much too quick centering. He doesn't cover that the brake pedal barely moves, just 1/2" of travel since the brake system is fully pressurized the pedal only opens a valve. The driver needs to stop putting the transmission in neutral! Pretty poor practice. Not sure I'd allow him to drive my CXs. 🙂
I don't want to drive your CX - so all good!
I presume the positions of 3rd and 4th gear in this car is just straight up and down like where 3rd and 4th would be on a floor-mounted shifter?
Yes!
I just bought a 2022 Guilia TI rwd 18k miles and I absolutely love it! I’ve owned Lexus IS 300, BMW 530and 330, GTI MK7, Acura TSX, WRX, and Honda SI… NOTHING drives like the Alfa. I smile walking up to it and smile walking away... it’s a perfect daily driver
It drives well!
which city is this?
Stafford, VA
250s are fast enough, and that’s all you need
Are those wheels OEM? I’ve never seen them before and I look at these cars all the time.
Yes, these are OEM!
Do you know what style they are? Like the numbers? I don’t know how I haven’t seen them. Usually the ones with the shadowline package have the black with the brushed edges, which I like. Then there’s the standard silver ones. But I haven’t seen these, they look awesome. Are they black or are they like a dark grey?
That color is awesome especially in the sun, it color shifts from teal to dark blue depending on how the light hits it
Yes, it does!
I'd be interested to see you drive some Mazdas, maybe compare this Outback to a CX50 Turbo
For sure! I should totally film some. Good idea :)
Dude stay in your lines on the backroads 😭
It's called a trajectory to take sharper turn better
@@DMCarReviews I understand but you’re supposed to be showcasing the vehicles performance my guy, this is not that, this is my grandmothers drive through the backroads.
currently have a 2010 Toyota rav 4 v6, the only problem is when going at high speed and pressing on the brakes the steering starts to shake and the car too but I will get it fixed but it’s a great car. 167k miles and going strong
Get it checked out!
Sick video bro
Thank you brother!
These older, Toyota RAV4's with the 2.4 L four-cylinder engine are known to have problems with excessive oil consumption.
Dude what are you doing driving on the wrong side of the road around blind corners lol
It's called a trajectory to take side turns. Also you may not see it on camera, but I can see everything around.
I love this car my dad had it for a while and we all loved it in the family, it looked amazing and never had a single issue and power was more than enough to stop anyone from complaining, I did a draggy test before we got rid of it and it did 0-60 in 5.8s and 1/4 mile in 14.3s and it was during winter with winter tires, I’m guessing you might be at altitude not sure but it’s still good
I am at sea level. I've never hit sub 6s on a N/A Accord sedan. We had an Accord 2.0T, and my record was 5.75s in the most ideal weather, and normally it was 6.3-6.5 seconds. So it's very reasonable to assume 6.5-7 seconds would be the performance of this car.
I just don’t understand why people who don’t know much about a specific car are reviewing it on KZread. Like kinda defeats the point
So what should I and the viewers know about this car that was not mentioned in the video?
The oil burner engine. I love it. Had this engine in my 08 scion tc. Most oil I've had to put in any car but kept it topped up and kept running and running until 230,000 miles when I traded for 4k
Wow, very nice!
Those 0-60 times are over 1 second above what it should be.
So you're saying it should be 3.5 seconds? I literally posted a 4.54s run from LC, assuming you've watched the whole section where I go over performance numbers.
@@DMCarReviews Yes it’s 4.5. But I could have sworn you said 5.5 in the video. Maybe I can’t hear lol.
@@AviationDirection That was without launch control. It's 5.4-5.6s on average without it.
