The FLIP MY JON BOAT channel delivers entertaining and informative programming that showcases the renovation - FROM START TO FINISH - of an old, nasty, $125, 14-foot Lundau aluminum Jon boat found on Craigslist. Each do-it-yourself step of the process is filmed in my backyard. You'll follow the boat's transformation to a watercraft that looks and works like a high-end bass boat. This channel is devoted to honoring a growing lifestyle on lakes, ponds, & rivers across America - The Tiny Boat Nation!
Each video will hook you in to the content spotlighted for that episode and transition into an informative tutorial about each step of renovating - or flipping - your Jon boat into a custom fishing watercraft. Each episode will wrap up with a "project cost" segment to give an approximate cost of that step of the renovation.

Wouldn't staples penetrate the epoxy and damage the waterproof seal on the wood?
I used OD green aluminum siding paint purchase from home Depot and a brush turned out good enough and it was a lot cheaper and the stuff has been on there for 4 years so it's not coming off anytime soon it doesn't really scratch too much
What about glueing the eva directly over the hull without the plywood? Just placing EVA sections between ribs?
Good job 👍
I see some people put a fuse after the battery switch before the fuse block. Is it needed ?
In Colorado, you can get frost bite and a sun burn in the same day!
Whats your psi on the compressor?
My god man! Thank you for making a simple ass video for my brain! And then the list at the end!! You got my like subscribe and share!
You have any idea why everytime I roll my carpet around the corners the carpet pops up. I see everyone on KZread never having issues. I literally have to carpet the front and wait a day for the glue to set up so I can roll the carpet around the corners
Now does anyone know if i tie in my troller motor or should that be on a separate battery?
I love the video and I’m restoring my flat bottom John boat and this video will really help me
We used this to carpet our pelican bass raider flooring and it looks like a professional did it. thanks for all the advice. Love #tinyboatnation
lets go wax em on lanier 🫡
Thanks for sharing!
Nice video
Dang you never made another video in the wiring series... :(
Hey I took love in ga doing a job boat down to the priming and sealing...I just wish my old paint came off this fast took me several months due to 6 layers of paint and 2 of bottom epoxy
How much would you say one of these John boats, freshly painted would sell for? I got a 12ft aluminum boat that I no longer need. I’m thinking of giving it a nice paint job and selling it.
Greetings great upload you helped me a ton showing tricks.
Super helpful video. Used it to wire up my 1542.
Home Depot marine grade carpet? Are you taking that grassy stuff. Do you have the exact name or a Home Depot link for it? It isn’t listed on HD site.
Starting on my jon boat restoration now. When you re-riveted, did you put silicone in the holes first?
This is awesome. I’m restoring my boat now.
Thank god I live in the SOUTH below Macon "LOL" we don't get snow down here, but we sure got plenty of " Big Bass" , so bring your boat down to Middle Georgia AKA God's Country and hook some " BIG UN"S with of southern boys !!!
Does the truck bed liner cause more drag on the boat during operation
Yes, big time
Professionally….. 😂😆nice…
멋지네요 very nice video
Where is bus bar in picture
Top is a neg block .
Thanks man,,very clear explanation...👌
Louisiana invented the frost bite sunburn 😅💀
What pop rivets did you use to put that metal piece on the back?
OUTSTANDING!! Someone who is our Hero for those of us who need Clear & Simple understanding/knowledge of electrical wiring stuff!🙏🏾😁✊🏾👏🏾
How is it holding up after some time now . Would love some feedback before I buy it
Are you running 6awg wire from the on/off switch to the fuse box? Surely a single 14awg wire cannot support the entire fuse box, or can it?
Greetings fellow Georgian!🙂 Thanks for the video. What's an alternative to stapling the carpet ends if the material is fiber-glassed gel coated laminated plastic honeycomb panels? Is the carpet glue my only option or is actually rubber cement? I know staples will not hold inside this material. I'm concerned with the carpet holding around the 90 degree semi-hollow edges of this material.
No videos since 2021??? Everything ok??? Hope all is well, love the content, real basic that everyone can follow and do. Keep the content coming don't stop!!!
I've just fitted this camo pattent to my boat, looks good but a little much on the eyes haha makes me feel like I'm about to have an epileptic fit
I’m thinking about using this on an enclosed motocross trailer ? Would orange clay stain the white on this foam to the point where it woulnt wash off ?
How long did the eva foam last? Did it start lifting at all?
New viewer here, ty for this man!
thanks man
Will any paint work or is it specifically the truck bed liner?
How has it held up? Any concerns with the glue seeping through the carpet?
I was looking for the same information. If you could let us know it would be much appreciated.
i found using poster board from dollar store easier to use the card board boxes
Dude, do long passes with the spray gun. You would have been done SO MUCH faster and much more even coverage. You should be able to cover your entire wing span per section. You would have sprayed that in no time, had much better coverage and wasted less paint.
See I was thinking about getting the Eva foam off Amazon to but the reviews were bad. A lot of people saying it wouldn’t stick or didn’t hold up. Awesome video though!
What kind of primer did you use?
Thank you so much man… I’ve been looking at so so many videos looking for someone to have something like this and I finally found it. That diagram is all I need to finally understand how to wire my boat.
He said good gracious 🤣. Thanks for another great video!!
I know you posted this a year ago but I want to be clear. You ran 6 gauge from the battery to your kill switch then 14 gauge from the kill switch to the fuse box and then from there to the switch panel and then to the accessories? Just 6 and 14 gauges were used?
