    I can̈ see that you have learned to play the accordion very well. But you may need to learn to teach a different method. I just started playing the accordion at 81 years old. I know most scales. But I try to 😂 the path of the tune. I guess kids can pick up the tune just by sound. But an old man like me ( who is near self deaf) is a different challenge.

    I'm just a beginner at 81 and now age 84. I learned something new. I didn't know to bump up from first and second buttons to second and third buttons to play part of the first lesson. I'm also a quero with 30% Native American. But I was brought up in the Mexican neighborhood. So I developed a Spanish accent. I can't hear too well, but I can hear enough to enjoy music. Well, thanks to Biden. He sent the money to stimulate the economy. So I bought a "G" Horner ( Panther) accordion. So thanks to you, Big Show Accordion and others on U-tube. It s a reason to take up playing, and that reason is to show I can still learn. Besides all I love it.❤ And to show I still have my wit's. And to keep me out of the sinor's nursing home. 😂 I am still very active. And if push ever turns to shove, I believe I can still kick ass.😂 Well, 😂maybe.

    This video showed me the difference in the sol scale and G scale. You use the sol twice by pushing in on the first line of buttons in two different places. The first G is sol, bothered played in. ,So, out is A or la. On the sol scale the ending sol is on the third button, down and third line. And played pulling out. Well, I'm sure you are very well aware of that. But I wasn't. Thank you for teaching me the G scale. I just started learning the accordion at ag😅e 80 and a half. The first polka I learned was " La Pierdera".😊

    happyboxtop Yes Twinkle Twinkle, Baa Baa Black Sheep, & ABC's is all the same tune so we're good to go w/ those ones. If you've seen this video:kzread.info/dash/bejne/dZ92086OpLa2aKg.html there's more songs that have the same tune like Peas Poridge Hot, Johny Johny Yes Papa (in Spanish it's Johny Johny Si Papa) & a bunch of others too. 1:24 Of course we need to adapt the amount of times we hit the notes to match the singing, a trick is to slow the tempo down a bit so that it becomes easier.

    Thank you for the instructions. At my old age (70), I would like to learn the accordion Hohner panther. I don't know how much time I have to live, and how hard it is to learn this instrument, but I like the norteño or Tejano music, but most important, do you know of an instructional book that will make very clear on how to start playing this instrument? Thank you very much.

    Very easy to follow for a beginner! I am having issues knowing how far out to stretch bellows and how hard to push and pull so I don’t run out of air

  • @happyboxtop
    @happyboxtop3 жыл бұрын

    This stumps most beginners, including myself. It basically comes down to not running out of air (whether you've pulled or pushed too far) before it's time to change direction for the notes you're playing. The good news is that it becomes more natural and easier with practice. Also, be careful with the release valve. If you're hitting it while you're playing, you'll lose air (and pressure). Keep playing!

    This is great. However, I am a beginner with a F Bb Eb scale Honner Panther accordion, not a GCF scale. If you know of someone who teaches with an accordion in my scale, as methodically (slow paced) as you do, please refer me to him in KZread. I like your methodology because it is easy to follow, i.e. do-able. Thank you.

  • @happyboxtop
    @happyboxtop3 жыл бұрын

    Thank you for reaching out. I'm personally not familiar with anyone that teaches in that scale -- so I'm not able to direct you to somebody else. The good news is that you can at least follow along by pressing the same buttons to get the same melody (just in a different scale). I realize that doesn't answer your question, so I would encourage you to keep looking for a tutor -- and keep playing. Cheers!

    Is it my accordion it's not playing the same

  • @happyboxtop
    @happyboxtop3 жыл бұрын

    Hi Victor -- it sounds as if your accordion is in a different key. If you press the same buttons and go in the same direction (when pushing and pulling the bellows) you should at least get the same melody even if it's in a different key. Hope that helps!
