  Thank you for explaining how metamagic rods work, I was confused by them thought they only had limited charges so stayed away from buying them but now I can see how useful they can be without having to select the metamagic feat and knowing they recharge after rest.

  Brilliant. In depth. Over my head even. I played AD&D for a lonnnng time and settled on 3.5. Pathfinder is awesome but new to me. The details you laid out in this build seem like overkill! Then again, I play on normal difficulty. At any rate, I'm gonna give this a shot. Thank you very much for the time and effort you put into this!

  True strike does not really work like that. TS specifically states that it affects the "next attack". If it allows you to make 2 attacks with the +20 bonus, that is a bug.

  I don't get it. Isn't this just a lvel drained sorc with low DC and a bad bloodline? Do the immunities/resistances and HP really matter that much to a sorc? Not saying it won't work on unfair, but arcane casters are so overpowered it's very hard to make them not work...

  Let's say you just wanna be a mobile Salvo of missles. I know magic missle increases in shots with levels, but I was told metamagics also help. Looking at Extend, it doesn't seem like it would help at all. Then there's Heighten which increases it's effect level while keeping it at its normal level. So if I start a character with missle and Extend it, do I suddenly have access to 2 missles per launch at level 1?

  To me it's a classic. One of the best Crpgs I have ever played - yes I ve played almost all since Baldur's Gate 1. Shocked at the 7/10 scores. It is a great,huge, complex and deep game . I would have liked the music to be more memorable.

  there's an aasimar feat, not sure if he took it but at like level 9 or so aasimars can take the wings feat to get +3 to AC and ignore difficult terrain iirc

  Desperately trying to find advice on making a nuker druid in kingmaker. Tired of all the companion builds everyone copy/pasted; I want a weather domain nuker, but I'm level 8 and he's still terrible. It looks to me like Snowball is pretty much the only good spell until Spell Level 4, but it caps out at 5d6. Unfortunately, I can't find any metamagic guides that specifically explain its effect on specific spells... From my understanding, if I give it empower, it becomes a level 3 spell and will deal 5d6 x 1.5? And maximize will simply make it do 30 damage every time at level 4? And combining both will make it do 45 at level 6?

  That is also a nice idea. Yes, using here to cast Chanel Negative Energy to damage living can be a decent damage source.

  done the maths and tests, vital strike is bad. and crit chances low. 5 attack that can each crit seem better better use normal attack. save 3 feats. cleave bad to. we don't want trash efficiency .. save 2 more feats. + I use fauchard, i lose 1d8 damage but reach + better crit. true strike useless because dimension strike is a swift action too. save 1 feat quick metamagic. 6 feat for outflank, doge, improved critical, critical focus, + 1 dice sneak attack , seize the moment.

  I don't agree with probability, cause getting 5 crits with 5 attacks is far lest probable, then getting one crit that hits like a truck (20% to crit with 4x damage vs 13% to crit 3 times in 5 hits - chance to crit 5 time is 0.243% so statistically not relevant) also You would burn through arcane pool quickly if You would have Perfect Strike on. Thanks for the feedback, totally agree that the build that You mention is a good sword saint build and maybe will help someone. I wanted a build that can one shot bosses, and it does that and more :)

  @@StratosOnline arcane pool is an issue yes i didn't noticed that ... my combats never excced 1 round .. calculation is more like : vital strike: 180 damage normal hit (16x8+50) / 540 damage crit hit (16x8+50)x3 normal strike: 90 damage normal hit (4x8+50) / 250 damage crit hit (4x8+50)x3 100 round vital strike (1 attack per round): 80x 180 normal hit + 20 x 540 crit hit (20%crit) : 25260 damage 100 round normal strike (5 attack per round): 400x90 normal hit + 100x 250 crit hit (20% crit) : 61000 damage Thanks for your build !

  @@JohnSmith-vm6hd Thank You for the math, it is really great to have a good conversation backed up by math / calculations. Yes also You can add sneak attack and other damages, and You are correct that it will outshine the Damage per Turn of this build. However, You can't do one thing - move and 5x attack in one turn because You need full attack, while this build can do swift action, move and attack. Also with how cleaving Finish works here (uses the vital strike multi) that makes it capable to clear multiple targets in one turn even after move. I know that with Fauchard and size Your reach is huge, so probably not a problem for You. Also, my build is easier to save scum because I just need 20% to get the vital strike crit, while You have about 3% to get 4/5 attacks to crit with the 15/20 crit range. It is all hypothetical, cause both build will destroy anything in 1-2 rounds anyhow. Once again thank You for the feedback because, my build is designed for some play style and that may not be clear to everyone and our discussion my help to clarify some things :)

  Great build. Used it as a merc. With greater invis + true strike hits everything on hard dificulty. After greater vital strike can pretty much solo bane of the living with useless jaethal just failing remove curse scroll

  Super to hear You have fun with that build. I personally like Jaethal just for the fact You can make here really tanky Sorc, but at that time this build can one shot bosses, so yeah... understood :)

  Thank you for this video. I just came back to kingmaker and while I usually MC a rogue fighter or paladin, I didn't really understand the concepts of meta magic that well. I now understand why sorcerers are the strongest class in the game (in comparison to just generic wizards) because you can have a ton of a specific good spell that compliments your build much moreso than a wizard could ever dream of.

  Yeah, Wizard can be good buffer, support caster to have a spell for each fight (know You need protection from fire You prepare it), great for spells You will not find in scrolls. But if You want a specialized caster excellent at casting specific spells, it is Sorcerer :)

  @@StratosOnline yeah, i've been loading my wizards up with haste, cat dex buffs, things like that. I guess their biggest advantage going for them is earlier access to higher level spells, but honestly it just pales in comparison to sorcerers with meta magic if your objective is to deal damage. The only arcane caster I haven't tried yet in this game is the alchemist (i've played vivisectionist only). Do they get something similar to metamagic or are they limited only to their class specific features?

  @@aylictal I would not say Alchemist is a caster (max 6th level spells, mostly buffs, need a discovery to cast spell on others), but the fact that base version (or even better Granadier) deal about 6 attacks per round dealing 10d4 + Int force damage with a solid splash damage, makes them one of best damage dealers in the game :) Also they are the only class that can cast Shield and few other "target self" spell on others, so really nice to add 4 shield ac to Your pet companion :)

  Good stream! By the way, i want to ask you about your sword saint build in Pathfinder kingmaker that you had post 4 months ago. The thing is when i get my char lv4 and add lv 3 sword saint, i dont get the Extended spell in the feat list. Just want to ask if this a bug or patch note things bc i dont see it mentioned in 2.1.7b patch notes. Thankyou

  Not Extended spell, Magus Arcana: Extend Magic (extend next spell 3 times a day). You should get it on level 3 of sword saint. Hope that clarifies that :)

  Yeah, this build was design to be capable to handle Unfair, it should be tanky enough, hit often enough and deal a lot of damage. Act 1 is not super easy but what is on Unfair. First part of the game You mostly tank with it, and then You add the punch.

  @@hmm-hv8bn Tested on PC version 2.1.7b just a moment ago and Extended Magic is there, so I don't think it is a patch thing. Do you use any mods (like eldritch arcana)? If this is some strange bug, lack of Extend Magic is not build breaking, so You can take arcane accuracy to help in the beginning and just get Yourself one more rod of extended magic, and it will work the same.

  @@hmm-hv8bn Yeah, I only have the steam version, and it looks fine, sorry. Once I get to level 4 of the build (3rd SS level) I get the option to choose Magus Arcana with 5 choices. Rod works great in this game, when active it makes the next spell extended (but not making it more difficult to cast like the feat does) and uses one charge out of 3. When You rest, all the charges reset. So if You have 3 rods like that, it means 9 extended spells per rest.

  Nice to see you continue the list. I think it would be interesting to hear you talk a little about what you think of the list as a whole. Were you surprised by some results? How well do you think non cRPGs fit in the list? Is there some games you think are significantly better or worse than their scores show?

  If you get back to this, maybe consider a blaster mage. Exploiter wizard 5 + crossboded sorc 1 (Gold+Brass) With spell focus, spell spec, spell pen, greater spell pen, potent magic, abundant casting, (1 open feat and exploit) With that you get a high DC fireball doing about 50 damage average. Good race choices are Gnome for +1 DC and Elf for +2 Spell pen.

  Woah quality 5 on pathfinder, I would have given it a 2 or a 3. Many build braking bugs, many bugs that can fuck your save, some crash the game. That said, I have not played it in a while now.

  Yeah, I would agree with You if we would be talking about release date (or console version from what I heard), but the patched version at least for me worked well... well maybe decent. But relay happy to hear also Your opinion, as what I'm presenting is just my subjective feeling. But more comments, new players will see the bigger chance that it will also match their feeling, so thank You for that!

  I think you give way too high scores to both games on plot and dialogue. Think they should both be in the 4 to 5 range. If you just give top scores to mediocrity, then when you rank something great you will have to give it the same score as a mediocre game.

  Maybe I didn't clarify it enough, will try to do better. 10 for me is NOT the best game ever possible to be created a holy grail or something, 10/10 is a game that I'm playing everything is on the level that I think is fun. Since I'm strange and don't like to complex plots and dialogue (skip it often) I'm probably not a perfect person to compare it with (also it will not make as much difference cause for me the weights will be on average level here) . I agree that ~90% of cRPG players will say this plot and dialogues are mediocre ad best, and they are right (would love to see their list also :) )!
