i can't do heelflips or heelflip variations with my toes hanging off or anywhere near the edge or i'll whiff the flick. i setup basically the same for ollies/kickflips/heelflips, but i might be an outlier in that. plus, i can't land shit with any kind of consistency yet so you don't need to be taking advice from me

Shredding it! Been fighting heelflips for the lst 4 months and i still can't land them. I'm almost there but not quite. Don't mind me asking, and i'm sorry if you said it on your last video, what's your setup? I'm just curious. Keep the videos coming!

The trucks are Indy’s can’t remember what the deck is but it’s 7’ 3/4” wide( maybe mystery). The wheels and bearings are at least 10 years old but I think the wheels are spitfires and the bearings are bones Swiss.

@@SkatinNatin Thank you for your input! I've been on a kind of board madness ( as one does eventualy ) and trying to figure out what works and what doesn't work for me. Back in the day everything worked since i didn't have the money to spare and whatever was cheaper had to do. I guess that's part of the fun. Anyways, keep shredding!!

@@SkatinNatin right now i have an 8.25" twin tail Zero board ( Chris Cole pro model ), Tensor trucks that came with a 2nd hand complete i bought earlier this year so i could get back to skating after 20 yrs, changed the bushings to Doh-Doh's hardest bushings because i'm a "big" guy, Spitfire bearings, Ace hardware and 54mm Bones 100s wheels. I mostly skate at my local skatepark since there aren't good street spots on my area. I bought a set of used Venture V-light trucks, it made my board rotate so much easier! But i managed to strip one of the ends when i changed wheels and bearings, so now i'm back on the heavier Tensors. I'm thinking about changing to an 8.5" next for a even better foot base ( i hope i've made sense, english is not my main language, sorry ).

@@fotasse your English is better than most Americans lol! You’ve made perfect sense! Have you considered going to a more narrow board like an 8 or 8.1? It will make the board lighter and it will flip easier.

Rad vid Nate, as this edit went on you left me behind dude 🤘🏻 The BS 50-50 was sweet and I can do them on lowish stuff then came the crooked grind ending with a heel flip… I’m out 🤣 Rad stuff for sure, I gave up in 1992 for 25years then been back skating the past 5 years or so,best decision ever ✌🏻

Welcome back!!! Great BS board slide😳 I’m 48 in August and getting back on the board when I was around 42 was a game changer for my well-being. I hadn’t skated for 25 years as I gave up the year I stayed college in 92 age 16. I never for one moment thought I’d ever skate again after getting married in my early 20’s and raising 3 kids, I’ve been in the same job for 27 years as a Telecom engineer and also was a Retained Firefighter for 4 years along side it during my 30’s. so life was too hectic to take time out just for myself. We moved down to Devon 11 years ago after reassessing our lifestyle and I have a supportive wife who I’ve been with for 30 years who understands the mental benefits of me skating and when I become a Gramps last year I’m even more determined to keep on rolling 👊🏻

I got back to skating at the begining of this year, late January, after a 20 year hiatus. It has been a STRUGGLE to get back the 3 or 4 tricks i had back in my teen years. Overweight plus mental block have been keeping me from progressing faster. Either way, it has been fun and i get to exercise and meet new people. Subscribed! I'll see you around! PS: @DadBoard @OldBrokenSkater @KevinNiceTry are other good channels to peek too ( not trying to take away the "spotlight" though )

Ayyyy!!! Welcome back, man!!!! Very similar story, started when I was 11/12 then stopped at some point in my early 20s. Joined the military in my late 20s, fast forward to now, will be 43 at the end of the month. My body has been through the ringer, and I decided to start skating again late April of this year. Been super fun to relearn stuff and really think about tricks now. I think that for me, at least, when I was younger, I was just doing tricks to keep up with my friends. Now, I can think through it so it makes sense how I am doing them... if that makes sense. Anyway, again, welcome back, and hope to see more of your journey!
