    As a sculptor, let me point out that the guy who started this originally worked for Gutzon Borglum on mt. Rushmore. Rushmore was never completed, after 14 years of work, Borglum died and his funding dried up and work stopped. The guy who started Crazy Horse was Not a sculptor. In deciding to make something twice the size of Rushmore, he did not understand he was taking on removing Eight Times as much rock. That means if he worked as fast as Borglum (which hasn’t happened) this project was gonna take a minimum of 112 years.

  • @AdamAndAshlyn
    @AdamAndAshlyn Жыл бұрын

    @@JJ-Toreddiepeople pay top dollar so that they can finish it. Crazy Horse doesn’t take money from the government, so the only way it’s funded is from the admission fee. 40 years ago, the mountain did not have a face carved into it, and there was millions of tons of rock on the mountain that is no longer there. The hand is also mostly carved out at this point. The workers work up there Monday through Friday, 8AM to 4PM, all year round. Even during the winter, as long as it’s above -10 degrees, they’re up there working on it

  • @mildlyretired634
    @mildlyretired63411 ай бұрын

    Plans are in place to complete it. If you do even a small amount of research you would know that it is the largest whole mountain carving in the world and even the basilicas in Europe took hundreds of years. This will be completed in the next 30-50. No federal or state funds will ever be accepted. It’s a work in progress that was started by the native Americans themselves.
