Ahrex Hooks

Ahrex Hooks

Ahrex Hooks have our roots in the Scandinavian fly-fishing tradition. Anglers and the waters they fish in inspire us to create the best hooks possible. Ahrex Hooks are made without compromise - designed by Scandinavian fly-fishermen for fishing all over the world. We use innovative technology and the best materials available for each specific hook.

We hope you will enjoy our KZread channel. We will try hard to feature the best fly tiers out there.

Happy fly tying

Cool take on the venerable palmer fly and it's descendant the woolly worm, tied with the hackle the correct way. Michael Jensen taught me that in one of videos. Thanks Ahrex for the video and this tier.

I love this fly! I live on the Pacific coast & it will work for our cutthroat trout (our sea trout) and by changing colours, also pink & coho salmon. 👍👍👍👍

Hi John I fish them with a free hanging hook. Just a bit of soft rubber tube over the knot and hook eye and then let it swing free - works great on these long winged flies and hooks the fish really good.

I wonder if we fly tyers must start to think more deeply about the material we select for the flies we tie. The jungle cock is threatened and many times protected. In lots of countries, they are protected and not open for import/export. Why do we fly tyers use materials that do not affect fishing besides for the person who ties the fly? Professional fly tyer should know, act, and be The Front Person for the rest of us.

Every part of this fly is masterfully tied. You seem to have no weaknesses in your game. Craft fur, hackle, marabou, deer hair, etc. all do your bidding without fighting you. You have the magic touch.
