If you take science and score well will it help boost your score?
7's are rare! 6s are excellent. If students got all 6sand a 7 they would be ivy league worthy. Your idea that a student should have a 41 predicted score is more accurate if you are looking at the top IB schools in Singapore or Hong Kong. Brilliant, hardworking diploma students can have predicted grades in the mid 30s. 5s in HL should earn universal college credit, so telling kids they need 7s is very stressful and unrealistic. But aside from that, thanks for sharing good info.
Hello! I'm a high school student planning to apply to University of Richmond for Fall 2025, and I'm working on my common app, but I'm really worried about my extracurriculars cause I don't really have anything worthy of mentioning. What can I do in this situation to make my application strong and increase my chances of being accepted?
I was confused about what you said at 3:19. What is "school day" testing? Is that paper and pencil tests?
It is a great deal for University of Chicago too, with more binding early applications. Some of those Summer programs are quite expensive (the research program is $14,000 but others are cheaper), so a good way for the university to filter out financial need students (or atleast make it harder for them), so that those early binding applications are mainly from wealthier students.
This makes sense since students who had attended a summer session were already evaluated on a number of academic metrics. I would like to see this adopted at other schools with academic summer programs.
Poor kids, in 2025 everyone are going to apply for Chicago summer camp.
Which community colleges are mostly linked to OSU for transfer students?
i want an applicant from the country of Georgia to apply EA1 and what response they get
If you previously took the ACT in 2024 and intend to submit that score this upcoming fall, will you still have to submit the science section score?
YES. This change is only happening in Spring 2025, so it will be up to students in the high school Class of 2026 and later and colleges to determine how this ultimately will change their admissions processes. Good luck.

is your senior first semester grades counted to towards gpa for applications
Many colleges will consider students' first semester senior year grades before releasing their Regular Decision notifications. Good luck.
Georgetown U is high on my boy's list of colleges he wants to get into. Second to UPenn, I think. Thank you.
Hey Craig could you make a video on Virginia Tech, I’m attending this fall as an international student after gaining valuable insight through this channel
Public school counseling should implement new policies for hiring counselors, it should be a policy for all counselors of any age group K-12 , to undergo mental health evaluations for itself, as well as traing in mental health therefore, all public school counseling would be performed by certified mental health practitioners , thus, upon each stage of growth would become a secure record, in any case of the students graduating t8 another level of society, in the case of the adult student faces societal challenges the courts may research it's records to the capacity of the said individuals progress, degress
Can’t agree more. Why not eliminating all final exams to make the college experience as stress-free as possible!
My kids high school no longer has finals. I’m a little worried about college preparation, but clearly there is grade inflation there too
Do you know why Stanford superstores sat but not act?

I am wondering if Skidmore needs the money that applications bring in. Sounds like they have tons of apps. Maybe their enrollment is somewhat capped but cost structure has escalated and they need $
The point of going to school is not only to learn to retain facts, but to learn how to express oneself and engage others in discussion, I tend to agree that the bar for admission is being lowered.
In general society, but especially with young people, conversation skills have crashed over the past couple decades. In settings where young people used to talk to each other, now they stare at their phones. In general, the teenagers I see have very low conversation skills compared to when I was a teen in the 80's. Smartphones, internet, social media, school policies, have all contributed.
I have a middle school child born in US, but living abroad since age 1. She's born there while her father is a student in US. We are not planning to go back to US as a whole family. Do you have any information or would you mention about this kind of cases in your videos. Will my child apply as an international student or domestic student?
Most selective American colleges consider an applicant's full background and experiences when deciding whether or not to accept an applicant. Students who have more than one citizenship are typically considered American or both American and the other nationality for reporting purposes. Applicants will have the chance to report all citizenships. Regardless, such students are also considered in the context of the community and school from which they are applying. Good luck.
Do schools know your race when you apply or are schools forbidden to ask questions about race / ethnicity?
Some colleges still have access to that information upon application while others suppress accessing or viewing such information upon application even if the application asked for it. But there is no legal prohibition on colleges collecting such information before, during, or after the formal admissions process, which is why all colleges should be able to ultimately report publicly the demographics of their entering classes.
How is olin college in giving financial aid to international students?
To learn more about aid at Olin, I suggest going right to the source: www.olin.edu/admission/costs-financial-aid. Good luck.
Caught the Fat Boy Slim reference 😀
What about international public schools outside of the US. I mean how would I know if my 1350 is enough? Nobody takes the SAT or the ACT at my school because nobody wants to apply to the US colleges. What do I do in that scenario
You should work with a college counselor or college admissions coach who is able to help you clarify your best path forward in the context of your curriculum, environment, goals, and personal strengths/weaknesses. To learn more about my services, visit CollegeMeister.com. Good luck.
Good Video! Have kids at each. One is an Engineering major and one is a Business major. Both were accepted at each school. Can't wait for November 30 at Kyle Field!
UCF early action is so early, you probably wouldn't have time to submit a senior year SAT score. Are they looking for students who have completed their SAT before senior year then?
The material submission deadline of November 1 associated with the Early Action deadline of October 15 includes official test scores, so students could still sit for the October SAT and be considered for Early Action. Though, I'd recommend wrapping up testing on the SAT by August. Good luck.
@@CollegeMeister Thank you so much for good advice.
Sir, I hope you're doing great, and I want you to know that your explanations and the information you provide are wonderful. I am wondering if this video is also intended for a Master's program, and if not, is there a chance to prepare a video related to Master's applications?
Thanks for your feedback. I only focus on undergraduate admissions; therefore, all my videos are focused on undergraduate admissions and undergraduate college life. Good luck.
You are really good at extracting 30 minutes of talking out of 5 minutes of content. You must have gone to the same school with our veep.
Wait, but when you said “sugar daddy or mummy” you weren’t referring to the teenager ’s parents, were you? 4:49
I'll encourage my boy to avail of the service when it's time. Thanks for the service.
Dang big haircut!
hello , did you check Columbia summer program 2024/2025 ?
Are all colleges releasing supps?
Over the next four to five weeks. Good luck.
@@CollegeMeisterwhich ones are out already?
This video is great! Quick question, how do you research which colleges offer merit vs need-based aid?
Visit their financial aid websites. Each college has one as well as financial aid officers willing to answer your questions by phone or email. Good luck.
Make a video giving examples of your preferable colleges where one can thrive in pre med school preparing them for med school
Great discussion
That example you gave of all the challenges the kid might have faced if he went to that "dangerous" public school where the parents were worried about his safety (wrong peer group, people doing bad things around the kid, etc) are all the reasons why ivies making sure to admit such kids is so important. A kid who gets through all of that, recognizes why it's a problem and ESPECIALLY if they've done things to improve that community, deserves all the clout and the position at the ivy over the kid with a 1530 who didn't have to overcome those challenges. And then what are the chances the kid with the 1530 from a different community comes back to take a positive leadership role in the aforementioned "dangerous" community in comparison to the 1350 kid?
Hello, I am a rising senior with legacy to Stanford. I've heard from some sources that choosing to apply RD to Stanford rather than applying REA would actually result in a net negative in regards to my admissions chances. Would this be a fair reason to apply REA, amongst others?
Yeah do REA
This will all depend on your unique context/situation, but traditionally, all other things being equal, children of alumni have benefited more from applying ED/REA where such plans are offered than by applying Regular. Good luck.
my law school in a few years, hopefully
☘️❤️☘️❤️☘️❤️. Do you have a “how to get into ND” video coming? Based on your last video, I am guessing applying restrictive EA would not be one of the tips.
Great video as usual. Very informative.
Craig- GREAT COMMENTARY. Boys are brainwashed they are 'TOXIC' for being born male, so no wonder so many want to be trans now. We live in a sick society where everything good is bad and bad is good. Kudos to you for bringing up this subject!
Thanks for the video Craig. Quick follow up - if you apply to a restrictive early action school and get deferred are you then able to apply to another school later in the process as Early Decision II or do those restrictions follow through the entire process with the original application at those REA schools? Thanks for all the great content you produce.
Once a student gets deferred, the student is free to apply EDII elsewhere. Good luck.
Craig, love your videos and agree with almost all of this one although I had to watch it twice to keep it all straight. I am wondering about the ND conclusion, and if I'm wrong, I will yield to your knowledge on the matter. But from what I can find on the ND site, they admitted 1724 of 11498 REA applicants in Dec. So 15% of applicants. And for RD in March, they admitted 1600 of 18445 applicants, so 8.7%. That tells me two things, one is that the admit rate is quite a bit higher for REA. And also that they're filling half their class with REA. Maybe more if you assume a healthy yield for REA. Am I missing something there? ND is really high on our list, so this one is kind of important to us.
Thank you for your feedback. For Notre Dame's Class of 2028, the spread between REA and Regular was more impressive than last cycle, but still less than 2x higher, which is when an early admissions plan becomes more attractive from the perspective of the family. Many colleges that offer Early Decision, for instance, have a 3x or higher acceptance rate for ED compared to Regular. The statistics you shared appear to be correct for the Class of 2028, representing a 1.72x advantage for REA over Regular. Just the year before, for the Class of 2027, the spread was a 1.53x advantage for REA over Regular. In short, there is a statistical advantage for REA, but not nearly as high as it should be, in my estimation, for students who know Notre Dame is their first choice. Good luck.
Losing hope because my junior year grades tanked. Could I redeem myself with senior year grades?
Don't lose hope. Senior year first quarter/trimester/semester grades are very important too. Good luck.
@@CollegeMeister thank you so much! This really gives me a lot of confidence!
Boys being told to go to community college instead of prestigious institutions.
Although males in general are not as strong as females with expressive language, self-reflection at this age for both boys and girls is not well developed. Experiential learning experiences are important across applicants. Curious if you have looked at the definition of 'red-blooded American men?' The Cambridge Dictionary defines them as '... someone who seems full of confidence or sexual energy.' There are various parts of the application process that are more advantageous to one group over another. This is why a holistic review of applications is important.
wow, I didn't think that I would see a video about the application for Oxy, my alma mater
I can only speak from my experience, and this is from someone who is currently a PhD student, there are a lot of problems with academia. I didn't start college until I was 39, so for most of my adult life I was not a college graduate, and I earn really good money, when I say really good I earn within the top 10% of Americans, and did it with zero college education. In fact at this point I've made almost nothing from my college education, I went to college for something new, and it was 100% paid for. I've never taken an entrance exam, ACT, SAT, or GRE. It just wasn't necessary. A lot of younger men I know are just not seeing college as necessary, and again from my experience, just a few weeks ago I sat in my lab at my university and listened to three women speak very poorly of men, right in front of me, I've only experienced this attitude towards men at college, and it is everywhere. I work full time as well, my boss is a woman, half my co-workers are women, and none of them talk about men the way I have heard women in academia speak about men. I also think that going to college doesn't equal intelligence. My dad is one of the most intelligent men I have ever known, and he has never sat in a college classroom. For the money you pay, the return in many cases is just not worth it now.
For ivy league schools, all standard test scores don't matter, only need your color, race and liberal political ideas.
