I'm about to start on the alt printing journey, Pt/Pd being one of them. About 35 years Paul Caffell and William Ingram printed some of my images with Pt/Pd for an exhibition at Hamiltons Gallery. Beautiful work. Happy days.

It’s very interesting to see the difference in the latent image between the two alternatives. It may allow a degree of judgement about the best exposure time as in printing out processes. I’m unclear though whether there is a noticeable once development has taken place and is so which approach gives the best print quality. It’s good to see someone investigating these issues. Julian

Due to Putin's invasion of Ukraine the price of palladium has skyrocketed. Russia is second only to South Africa in its mining. The world is at war but hopefully that will come to an end soon. If you're committed to pt/pd printing, sock funds away for purchasing the metals, watch the market for the prices to fall then shop around. The price of precious metals, and all chemistry, varies widely depending on suppliers.
