I use to be a car guy -- guess I still am at heart, but I've pretty much lost all hope. I don't aspire to own anything new -- none of it is appealing. It's all junk and it's all been destroyed in the name of technology and cost savings. iDrive 8 in BMWs SUUUUUCCKS! The 8 shortcut buttons are gone. Climate control buttons are gone. Heated seats and ventilated seats are now have to be turned on / off in software. Manual turning on of low beam headlights and PARKING LIGHTS are in iDrive. Was the turn-style headlight switch too complicated, for BMW? Even the HEATED STEERING WHEEL BUTTON is gone. Worse yet, what physical controls remain are touch capacitive garbage. It's ironic that a luxury brand implements massive cost-cutting measures and is rewarded with simpletons thinking it's a premium experience. Obviously it costs way less to slap a screen in a car than design, create, manufacture, test, inventory, and warranty a bunch of buttons that could go wrong. The Kool Aid drinkers will say use voice commands, but voice commands are slow and half baked at best. And everything being on a screen is massively distracting and dangerous. Buttons you can press without looking away from the road are way safer. Anyway, I won't buy another BMW until BMW undoes iDrive buttonless stupidity. And don't get me started on all the mechanical problems just about every manufacturer has had trying to eek out better mpg for the sake of emissions.

i have to say with owning a DE i have some conclusions after i started building it, a lot of people opt out for the DE because it’s cheaper and a great entry level motor,i’d say that the DE is very reliable and that many people get the De and the DE revup in oil consumption, the revup is the oi eater, and another conclusion is that a lot of people don’t know how to build a real DE, because of the fact that many owners of the DE cars are new car enthusiasts and want a cheap affordable car, leading to cheap affordable builds, with cams aftermarket manifold , e85 and test pipes you can make VHR numbers

Originally I felt the Pikes Pearl White was the nicest color. When I purchased mine could not locate one. I still own a Chrome Silver 2004 from new. To me its the nices color. Never liked Brickyard (which is like a metalic plum), neither the Le Mans (which is like a metalic orange) or the Daytona Blue (its like a metalic royal blue), because it seemed that I would get tired of looking at those extreme colors. The 350z" came with 17" wheels in the base, enthusiast, automatic tourings, and convertibles. The standard tourings (18" wheels with tube like wheels) and the Tracks came with 18", but only the tracks came with the forged Rays wheels. Which are one piece wheels. I believe each year of came with a different special colors. First year was the Le Mans metalic orange, the second I believe was a metalic blue, and there was also liquid silver (slughtly diff to chrome silver), third year was a metalic yellow, I believe the last year was a different yellow ( like canary yellow). That's my recollection. The red and black looked nice when new, but, were more fade prone, and looked dull if not regularly polished.

I have two CRV's both with the 2.5 engines. I'm keeping both b/c 1.5 are crap. They added 1.5 and put a turbo on it add's nothing but expence for parta and labor to install. I've talked to mechanics who said that many returned to be repaired. Why, b/c you have to drive them alittle differantly. Start of easy for the first few miles to get the oil up to the turbo and on top of that before shutting off let it run to "cool down'. All because they think of added gas mileage, just plain BS b/c you get no more than a few more miles per gallon and headaches down the road. A new CRV....nope not untill they go back to what really works and lasts longer. They have to stand up to this stupid EPA BS and say "we can't add anymore cost to our vehicle line without cost and shutdowns and layoffs. 😒

My first car was a 95 Accord and I drove it to around 300k miles and parked it running. I then got the 2013 9th Gen Civic Si I still drive in 2018 and I really like the car. It's been super reliable and all I've really needed to do is basic maintenance so far. It's a K24 with around 200HP for anyone that doesn't know. I do have some rust which is a drag, but it starts every time I turn the key whether it's 110 degrees out or -10. It's been through snow storms and even a hurricane, but looking at what Honda makes right now, I don't see a single car I'd rather drive. If I had to make a list, I'd ask for more power (250HP should do it), better upholstery, Car Play/Android Auto, and better blind spot visibility. That's not a huge list for someone that's been driving a car for five years.

Nobody makes reliable cars any more. Not even Toyota. Sheep say to just buy Toyota, but they have no idea what they are talking about. Also, I'm an old school Hyundai fan, but they can't build an engine any more. There's even a lifetime warranty on their 2.4 Theta II - some people are on their 3rd free engine. It's insane. These are some of the worse times in the auto industry. IMO Mazda might make the most reliable vehicles today - if you can put up with their firm rides and road noise.

Great video, I wanted to add another major point- The weak link of the DE is the connecting rods which fail beyond 400 wtq. The thing is, after a regular VQ35DE has connecting rod failure, everyone pursues a full engine rebuild (and why wouldn't they, it's a great motor). However, I have not seen anyone actually replace the connecting rods and pistons properly BEFORE failure and test the new limits. As far as I've researched, once the connecting rods have been dealt with (combined with strengthened hardware), we don't actually know what the next failure point is!! Would it handle as much as an HR? Possibly so. Aside from connecting rods and a few miscellaneous parts, the DE is known to handle as much big power as the HR's do- despite the 80% internal change, most of these internals are swapped out for aftermarket parts that both DE's and HR's have options for, each with similar strength. At that point with forced induction, it's all about keeping the engine together in one piece - precisely both the DE and HR block are very similar and nearly identical in strength, which explains their similar numbers with big power builds. Like Philip said, just pick up the cleanest 350z you can!

It’s not much of a difference at all in my opinion. 5% better performance (stock for stock anyway) in today’s world if that…2006/2007 is still a pretty old car. It’s not the stark difference of a 992 Carrera S to a 992 GT3 for example.
