    Thank you for your comment. Japan is currently in the middle of the rainy season, and daytime temperatures are around 32°C. However, once the rainy season ends, the real summer begins, with temperatures reaching nearly 40°C. Although there is a water source nearby, I experienced the loss of a swarm due to hive collapse last year, so I have taken precautions by providing sunshades.

    For our area starting irrigation involves installing boards into a diversion dam that causes the Sacramento river to rise high enough to allow water to enter the ACID canal.

    Do you suffer a lot of soil erosion on the waterways if they overflow? It looks like there has been some damage just where it goes underground. 水路が溢れると土壌浸食がひどくなりますか? 地下に流れ込む部分で被害が出ているようです。 (Google で翻訳)

  • @unclecocco

    Thank you for your comment.😊 That’s correct! This part of the waterway is prone to flooding, and although it was repaired once, heavy rain caused it to collapse again.

    Cocco san, I am not a farmer and I have never been interested in this activity before, but over the last few months, I have watched 100's of videos about rice farming! I think the entire process is fascinating!! The water channels that you use are so interesting. Some fed by river water, and some just by mountain rain water. The system for diverting the water and channelling it into fields is amazing!! I think that some of these waterways are new, and some of them are very old? I love the maintenance of them and the management of them; it is so interesting! In fact, the whole business of rice farming - from planting to harvest is so compelling! Thank you for your wonderful video.

    Why start from upstream? If you start from downstream and work up, the water should help you clear itself. It must not matter much when it's so clogged?

  • @unclecocco
    @unclecoccoАй бұрын

    Thank you for your comment.☺️ If we let the water flow as it is, the leaves will quickly clog it, causing the water to overflow. That's why we are removing the leaves little by little like this.
