The fabled fish of 10,000 casts has now become the fish of 10 casts. Forward facing sonar sucks.
Thanks for the info! Could you detail out the rod/reel/line combos you were using for these?
Ill be there next weekend. Where should i go to fish for walleye? Or any tips would be greatly appreciated. First timer on leach
👏👏👏
What brand of trolling motor are you running with your Lowrance on your Pro-V
Enjoy your videos. Maybe showing how to use electronics better. Keep up the great work.
What kind of bobbers are ypu guy using?
Pmt won't be the last professional fishing group to ban ffs from there Turny's. I see the professional bass organizations banning it shortly. I personally won't fish a tournament that allows ffs. Our states dnr needs to address the impact of 12:19 this technology has on a resource. Here in northern wi ffs is extremely effecting the lakes negatively with all species of fish not just musky.
This is exactly the type of video I love! Toby is a good all around guide and knows Muskies. He gave me his favorite bucktail for leech - it’s a special bucktail for sure!! Good guy.
Where can I find that pedestal seat bucket? Can’t wait to get my forward facing!
Hi did you talk about what size jig n rap to use for shallow fishing
i think this is horrible for muskie
driving around staring at a screen the whole time and calling it fishing.. very pathetic. give your balls a tug you cowards!
Nice walleyes
St Croix icon rod how long is it
I had a snap come open on one of the biggest Muskies I’ve ever hooked. I had it all the way to the boat and it opened its yap so wide that I could see the spinner bait way back in its throat. Gave a giant head shake, went down, and pulled the bait off the leader. It makes me sick to my stomach to this day just thinking about it. A mid 50” musky which I’m sure died. Total heartbreak.
That why your "Disgruntled " 😂😂
@@whitetail229I’m disgruntled for other reasons. That Muskie is why I drink heavily 😂😂😂 I was 17 when that happened. I’m now 54 and I still think about it and it still breaks my heart.
@DisgruntledUSA I hear ya ,bud I'm the same way with musky as I am with archery hunting. Adrenaline rush beyond imagination! Hope you've stuck a big fish since then. Good luck
So glad I found your channel and totally agree with your conservation/stewardship stance. With the new tools available, there is really no need to stock up. I'm excited being from S. Texas to find some new spots to fish, Leech Lake is on my list. Without your video, I never would have known the great amenities that are being offered up that way! In the summer I stick around the DL area so this will be fantastic. I'd like to see some more of your tips and tricks that you guys offer. I do have one question, a couple years ago I got sorta irritated about the price of minnows, when I found that you can't use a cast net. I asked the local DNR the reasoning but the person didn't give me a good answer and thought you guy's might know. Thanks and again and hope to meet ya in the near future.
We are not sure on the cast net. There are traps available and minnow seine nets but not cast nets. The expensive minnows like chubs can be caught using small hooks and wax worms on several creeks around the region. Best of luck and thanks for the compliments.
🙌🏻
Love your videos!!!
Well done and great content.
wow you're living the dream brother! so cool man
I think next year you need to do it as a Pro-Am and invite me to fish on one of the teams
Honestly FFS is way less a threat to fisheries than invasive species. But chances are mostly anglers are inadvertently spreading those as they compete from lake to lake.
Were is chuck?
Who? :) Chuck was at a Derby.
I’m going to add my two cents. When Bob was asked by Jeff, what can you expect? I think a realistic expectation is to have to grind and pound water for three or four days in order to expect to catch a few fish. Musky fishing is never easy even for the best fisherman. I would not tell anybody to expect to catch fish if they are Muskie fishing.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. We believe Bob's point was to have the mindset to expect to have success. This mindsets keeps you pushing through the grind. You couldn't be more correct about the challenge of musky fishing, even for the best but when you believe in success, even when it's tough, that bite will come! Good luck to you the rest of the season and thanks for watching. #theguidelife
agree, a positive muskie attitude really helps!!@@LeisureOutdoors
That technology is as lame as the people that use it… you are taming the experience of fishing down to the boring act of sonar navigation…. Plus it will enable the lame ass musky fisherman to fish out any lake far quicker than the natural development of the species. Lame lame lame.
P r o m o S M 😊
Love Bob and Jeff. Great guys! Heard great things about Hanske too
NQAddict nice fish guys NQAddict when water gets cold 60-65 what should we target shallow? NQAddict what is leech right now temp wise
I left comments but it says no comments.
Just keep casting!
I grew up fishing lake Vermillion near Tower Soudan.... McKinley Park campground was my favorite place to stay. 💪😎 Remember portaging from Vermillion to trout lake.
Been on that lake many times. Biggest we ever caught was a 51 and a 52 muskie during back to back days with a full moon in full view an hour before dark.
forward facing sonar is for cowards.
live scope needs to be banned
Hell of a story Justin!! So awesome......will try and make that trek to you guys in the future
Can you tell me which one this is? I see they have 3 types of rain suits.
Great info, thanks for sharing it Chuck! Very helpful!
Thanks for putting this together! Fun ! I can't even believe all the fish you guys caught, you made it look easy, which I know it is not! Loved the format, especially the segment at the end on what types of locations and structure you are hitting at various times of the year, and why you seek out those locations. I definitely learned a few things. Would really love to see some additional content on the FFS, and how you experts are using it, what you are seeing, how the side imaging plays into the search , the "game planning" aspect, how you are casting the various rigs / what you are doing to be able to see fish interacting with your presentations on the scope,, how the boat control plays into the FFS technique, especially on a windier day, etc. Yes, please keep 'em coming, love the multi-species content....
Was Jon Peterson his grandfather? I’m 69 and had to learn to walleye fish living in Tennessee and could not buy any baits locally so I mail ordered a lot of baits from Northland and I remember Jon being very helpful to a southern redneck who had no idea how to walleye fish.
His Grandfather is Duane Peterson, Jon’s brother. The entire family are part of the Northland Fishing tackle group.
@@LeisureOutdoors thank you so much. Back then it wasn’t a credit card business. You mailed a check, they deposited your check and when your check cleared they mail your order, usually 4-6 weeks before you got your order, but oh it was like Christmas when it arrived. Great memories
Great info! Thanks!
Are there any leeches on leech lake?
Yes, there are! Legend says Rambo once fell in and his whole body was full with leeches. Ain't that a thing!
Thank you for your report..
How are you retrieving your jig and plastic to make it work, when you said we are 3 weeks away from a jig & minnow bite? Thanks
It's nice getting to know the guides and the species they enjoy fishing each video. Great quality production! Can't wait for my next guided trip with LOA!
Toby, i really enjoy your videos and seems like all you Leisure Outdoors guys are really nice guys/ i enjoy watching all the videos, with that said, this video saddens me, I get it, you guys make your living putting people on fish, and I'm not criticizing or faulting you for it, but this sport is becoming more and more about looking at $15,000+ worth of electronics and less about fishing, makes me wonder where its going to end, full disclosure, i have 1 Helix 9 on my boat, so i guess I'm part of it, sorry, I'm just venting and probably somewhat jealous of that fact its 6am on Friday morning and I'm heading to work and you probably get to go fishing................
Livescope doesn't cost 15k. Get with the times
Thanks for the comment. We enjoy catching with or without electronics. You certainly do not NEED them to do so. Yes, they work great and are necessary for certain applications.
06-29-23 I caught 54" first ever musky on leech lake.
We are coming up Labor Day week. How's the weather look for dropping that water temp?
Great video guys! I'll be at Spring Bay from the end of August till September 23 trying to top my PB. And I 100% agree it's Lead Core season up there🙂
How was your trip
@@ehrenboatman2232 Fantasic! Just got back today. Boated over 500 walleye in the 3 weeks there with 29 slot fish ranging from 20-25.5". Water warmed with the nice weather the last week which slowed the big fish some but still a great trip. Also landed my 2nd Musky in the last 2 years pulling lead which makes for an interesting and fun fight:)
Great clip. With the Lake being on the Large side and having the islands and structure it can be a challenge. You put together helpful information for all. I spend 3-4 weeks a year on the water and have a blast🎣🎣🎣 Can’t do any better than Spring Bay for a place to stay, great people.
Are you still going to be guiding on Vermillion Sept 26-29? Wouldn't mind doing a half day on the front end of the trip.
Justin Chromy will still be up there. Feel free to reach out to book a trip!
