From the early days here at 4 AM FARMS we knew deep in our hearts that being able to have the knowledge along with the ability to be good stewards of the land it would make us more intune with this place we all call home. It began small at first with gardens, then chickens and goats, throw in a few other animals and you have yourself a mini farm, hobby farm or homestead whatever you chose to call your place it is home.
Learning by books, computer or hands on, whatever works best for you is what's the most important. Never be afraid to ask questions, experiment or try new things. Putting my experiences up for you to see will hopefully help you along your journey to being self sufficient and having your own little homestead.
Thank you so much

What is yalls age?
We were lucky in SWMO!
We definitely were lucky.
This review rocks. I thought 100% the same thing about the oil and instructions. I was worried seeing no words thinking that’s a shortcut I’m not sure I want them making. Also I took like 30 minutes putting the oil in because I wasn’t sure how much, but the one I bought this week it took the whole bottle to be in the middle of the dipstick. I have seen a lot of reviews online and even though it mowed great, I may go get the added warranty from some of the reviews.
When getting ready for this years mowing marathon this mower was almost sent to the junk yard, in fact I bought another mower while trying to fix this one. I passed on the warranty for this mower & learned my lesson here. The issue for the mower was the fuel filter that's located IN the tank and is not serviceable. I fixed it with an external filter. Now back to mowing =-)
Don't know why, but none of the electric weed eaters come with a straps, they could spend an extra $5 and include a strap. Especially the ones with 40v or more because they do git heavy. I have the ryobi 40v with the motor on the top which makes it even worse
It would be nice if that was included, they sure get heavy and tiresome without.
Looks Adequate!
Needs some lighting and comfy pillows
Looks great!
Thanks! So glad we finally decided to get this for the family.
Looks good!
Thanks Jeff. Just needs a few more little things for emergencies stored away.
Hello... I am trying to repair a cabinet just like this and luckily found this video! thanks! My question is the sliding front door of ours will not move to open more than a few inches on either side..we took everything out, turned it on its side, blew compressed air through the tracks, knocked it with a mallet a few times to dislodge anything maybe? still doesn't open enough..any suggestions? thanks much
Have you checked if the wood is binding or warped? If the door is warped it would possibly be binding and unable to slide on the rail properly.
how much was it
I think we paid $350 - $400 over a year ago.
$350-$400 a year ago.
Loved your egg flip!! 😍😍
Yay! Thank you! I'm working on using my little cast iron pan now for egg flipping =-)
Love your farm!
Thank you! Would love to see more of your and Neece's place =-)
@@4AMFARMS Maybe after the snow melts 😂
They operate that backhoe like they have done it a time or two before! Where are the rocks?
He sure did an amazing job. We didn't have very many rocks thank goodness =-) hahahahahahah
K & J Got a hidey hole.....
Going to get a cool name for it this time around lol
Love the Timelapse
Thank you it sure turned out pretty good, plus my editor is a whiz. =-)
Trying but unable to align arrows
Align the arrows on the lower portion not the upper
It would help if you demonstrate alighting the lower arrows. I have tried and tried but can’t twist them
china made Trash
Great review, thank you. FYI, the fan on the charger does not cool the battery. It cools the charging unit itself.
Cool, thanks.
I had to put together 2 4x2x1 beds like the one you’re doing. Man, I feel your pain! Yours are so big! 🤣😂
I really like them & glad I'm done putting them together. Got 4 filled and 4 more to fill that'll probably take me the rest of the year to fill. If I get any more they'll be for herbs but they won't be that big. =-)
I have one last question, please: Do you have to remove the gasoline when not in use for long periods? For modern gas engines the fuel line can get clogged up if you don't remove the gasoline. My old mower (decades old) never required this! Just wondering in case you know?
I don't generally need to remove the gasoline because I run the gas out, If there's gas left in the machine at end of season I put in Stabilizer. Better safe than sorry.
1) Can you use the mower without that huge clumsy bag? I never have used a bag. 2) Does it start with one pull, ie., easy to start?
Yes definitely you can mow without the rear bag, that was the first thing the wife took off. It is easy to start, usually one pull will get it started. We're having a problem with the carburetor right now after a year of use. I'm frustrated because we really liked how easy it is to maneuver around the garden. I'll be putting up a new video on this soon. Hope this helps.
@@4AMFARMS Thank You!
They're adorable! How does mama not get her head stuck with those horns tho? Lol
Good question, they have learned how to move their heads in a way to keep from getting stuck. They do have a learning curve though, we're always watching to make sure they can get out of the fencing. =-)
Cool
Thank you
They say to put the entire bottle when putting it together out the box
I think I read that as well on the box, I sided with caution.
I would be so scared to raise goats😵💫
It sure was a learning curve for us too, lots of research and hands on. We also had a good mentor that was willing to help when needed, something we continue for those that are learning.
I didn’t know that the plastic wrap protects the metal during shipping. Thanks for sharing
Even though it was difficult to remove the plastic on some of the panels we didn't have any damage to the panels and that is the way we like it. =-)
Looking good. Can't wait to see it in action in the later spring.
Thanks, it should make gardening a lot easier for us here.
What is the warranty
Its a limited 2 year warranty. It excludes parts that are worn or damaged due to normal wear such as bearing, wheels, tires chipper knives and such. Warranty does not include the engine mounted on the product. Advice is to read the warranty thoroughly before purchase.
Nice. Film it all!
Working on it. The amount of hardware is crazy.
Pesky ducks...
They sure can be : )
What happened in you put the full bottle of oil I did can I fix it
It depends on how much is too much, if the oil is to the rim your going to need to remove some by pulling the drain plug to let some out. Over filling will cause problems a little is ok but a lot is bad.
I like that you share how you are stewards of the land. So many responsibilities, yet make sure to take fare of yourself. Beautiful video.
Thank you, sometimes finding time for yourself can be challenging, I find just sitting in the garden sometimes is the best place of all with the birds & bees. Life & happiness is where you make it.
Plan on buying this toro mower at one of my local hardware stores in town later this summer. I’ve heard it’s a decent mower for power and performance, my current one is a toro self propelled mower but has a big 149cc engine, had it almost a decade, it does not run well and has terrible issues with power, think the Briggs will do better, so this mower you have I definitely plan on buying.
That's fantastic, with winter just about over I know the grass is getting ready to spring into action. =-)
I ❤ your goats.
Me too =-)
Good message, Jani!
Thank you!
Thanks for the info
Any time! =-)
Thank you for your time and sharing all that information with us. You went right to the point, and save us a lot of time on reading and adjusting.
Glad it was helpful! Appreciate your commenting and enjoying the Video.
Did u have to concrete anything in the ground? How’s it holding up?
No I didn't put in a concrete floor, there are times I wish I did. The carport itself is doing ok, some of the siding is shrinking probably due to humidity, hot, cold expansion and retraction. I will be doing a video on the Goat port very soon. It needs a little TLC.
@@4AMFARMS awesome I look forward to it. I wanna do something similar for my line line pigs but don’t wanna do concrete in case we ever need to move it. But idk how I’d do their stalls to keep them in at night to clean or whatever how the eventual dirt/mud will do. It’s definitely a learn as u go thing
When we had pigs I didn't have concrete in the stall there either. I had built a stall that they could go in and out freely, the most import thing is to give them lots of room to roam and make sure that you have them fenced in an area. I did sink the fencing into the ground so they wouldn't root their way out. My place also has lots of cross fencing so I didn't worry too much about predators.
That's beautiful ❤️ God's creation. Thank you for sharing that ❤️ I luv sunrise and sunset too. ❤️
Thank you, sunsets and sunrise are my favorite time of day.

Where is your farm ? What state ?
We are in Missouri
Why give animals the good eggs. Bad 1s float. Best are at the bottom
We give the animals the eggs that are barely floating, if the are way way up in the float we toss into the compost or they get trashed. Luckily I don't have many that are bad. Freezing & water glassing has helped us keep more available for eating. Ducks have slowed down production so instead of 12 a day I'm getting 4 or so. =-)
send them to me 👌🏽👌🏽or grind the shells into calcium for your garden. or my favorite is to pickle them with chili and garlic.
Oh the pickling sounds yummy, the eggs we eat the shells get put into the compost, I've been thinking of drying the shells and giving back to the chickens. Wish i could send ya some =-)
Ive never butchered anything before. Except my hair of course lol.
Hi all im new to your channel. Howdy 🤠 The chicken house looks great 👍 great job 😁
Thank you so much. I love the new look of the chicken coop too, it's a huge improvement =-)
I luv your hat & scarf 🧣 Do you make them yourself?
Thank you, yes I crochet hats, scarves, blankets. I actually took this last year off of crocheting. Shhhhh don't tell anyone but I've got yarn waiting for my next blanket hidden under the bed =-)
Our dog gets raw eggs. He's on a mostly raw diet so having chickens is very helpful. Our outside cat also loves raw eggs!
That is awesome! My indoor dog likes scrambled eggs and the cat steals her food lol. I did ask my Vet if it was ok and he said yes not a problem just not every day. I also researched giving scrambled eggs to the chickens and ducks, they too can have it but not as a feed everyday. So glad we can have enough for all.
So touching. Thanks for letting us take a peak into your life on your homestead
Thank you so much, it isn't always easy, it's hard work, it comes with the good times as well as the hard times. Wouldn't trade it for anything.
I like the tip about cracking them in the silicone cups and freezing
Thank you, it's also so much easier to clean the silicon cups vs the metal pan, easier to remove the eggs too.
Nothing better than farm eggs!
Got plenty here that's for sure. You're right they are the best.
Necee says she’s jealous! (Burns)❤
So glad we waited until winter to make jam
Made some Elderberry jelly yesterday. I'm so glad we had the room in the freezer to keep all the berries. Canning in the summer months isn't my favorite, I'd rather be in the garden or mowing lol
Looks good!
Tastes amazing 😊
It's perfect on the sourdough toast =-) Made some Elderberry Jelly yesterday. Totally forgot to video the process.
