very helpful. I had no idea that the air coming up would prevent the plunger from working. Helpful tip great work.

The three start/stop presses are completely unnecessary. Turn the vehicle on, turn the vehicle off, push the wiper stick up and hold until the wipers go to service mode. Other than that, short and sweet video.

Thanks for the video. I've got a 13 Crosstrek Limited and the procedure was a bit different. There are no connections besides electric so those cable disconnects don't exist. They're actually motors. So I just pried and disconnected the emergency switch as you showed, removed the 4 screws and the wires and done.

This is brilliant! I cannot possibly thank you enough for posting this video. I struggled and struggled to find a route for the cable to exit the wall unit with the metal cover in place. You made it look so easy. I haven't set up the app and won't be able to get to it for about 10 days (mini-split is in vacation home). But again, you made it look so easy. Everything I read online for DIY installers led me to believe this was going to be a hot mess....particularly linking to 2.4 MHz band with a dual-band router. Are you happy with the smartphone app?

I have the exact same. Now the circulating pump does not turn on...or at least most of the time. Kind of intermittent...so for now I plugged the circulating pump directly into an 120v outlet. ---When I click the relay manually, the circulating pump turns ON (power to the contacts) and the furnace fires up. ---When the furnace runs on its own, if I click the relay manually, no power to the pump contacts (???) For both of you, what was the repair time? I've seen other videos where temperature sensors needed to be replaced. Nice that Rheem sends out the parts (I assume for free). But it looks not trivial to take the top panel off so that you can get to the parts (probably more work if you detect the electric line). Wish they just used better components to begin with, so that we don't have to deal with labor to replace them as our responsibility.
@idothings66055 ай бұрын
Rheem did send the parts for free which was nice, but sort of crazy they expect homeowners to fix their equipment during warranty period... It probably only took 30 minutes to change out the thermistor. I posted another video where I show changing the part out - kzread.info/dash/bejne/eX9_2MWhqMfRqKw.html. Thanks!

Great video and patience!! I have a Weil McLean 668v (28 years old) and my round cover plate shows corrosion on the outside, though I have never actually observed water leaking from it. (It is just the cover, I do not have a tankless coil as I get my domestic hot water from an indirect tank). Would you proactively change out your cover plate during to visible corrosion without any active leaking? The benefit I see is to change out the plate before the bolts become too corroded and snap. The risk is that I snap the bolts in the process when my boiler was working perfectly fine! I haven’t done this work before so I would greatly appreciate your input! Thanks!!

It's hard to tell if it's leaking or not due to the water evaporating so fast as it leaks out due to the temperature of the boiler...

Do you still use the boiler for baseboard heat? How did you stop using the coil - converted to water heater, etc?
@idothings66056 ай бұрын
Yes, I still use the baseboard forced hot water for heat. I simply disconnected the domestic hot water coil from the boiler to stop using it as a heat source for my domestic hot water & shut the boiler off during non-heating months.
@Obelix5167 ай бұрын
I see that coil is completely covered in soot. Is it because it is being exposed directly to the flame? If that's the case, the home heating part of the boiler needs not be drained?
@idothings66056 ай бұрын
The outside of the coil was touching the boiler water & that water is likely dirty and corroded the copper over many years. The copper pipe never touches the flame.
