  My Samsung Blu-Ray player and my new LG tv are not compatible with each other when it comes to audio because the Blu-Ray player works when hooked up to a different TV. Samsung and LG customer service were not able to help. I bought a used cheap Samsung Blu-ray for $10 that works fine.

  We just had the same problem, unplugged it and plugged it back in and let it reboot and now we have sound!!

  Does your TV have 4K if it does take it off?

  Well this was 9 years but I'm just seeing it. I've got the same problem with my setup. I have a Sony Blu-ray player nothing special about it, not expensive. I've had it for about 3-4 years. Regular DVDs play well some Blu-rays play but not all blu-rays. On the one's that fail they have no sound. I have sound during the previews and even the top menu before you play the movie. You can listen to the music in the top menu. As soon as you hit play there is no sound. I've checked everything,. Oh well..... I hope you figured yours out.

  Try your settings, my portable blue ray sound stopped working and I went into its settings and turned off the internet for it, and now I have sound, thank you.

  What do you mean turn off the internet? I’m not seeing the setting to disable the internet from the bluRay player. Thanks in advance!

  I know this is an old video, but I had the same problem and solved it. Make sure that the Blu-ray player is connected to the "HDMI Arc" input. If its not, you won't have sound from a Blu-ray disk.

  I also noticed that when i connect it to the hdmi arc it has audio but why is that? What if i need that hdmi arc for my home theather? Do i need to update my tv or the player?

  I had a problem with my multi region pioneer bluray player.Same thing,i had a picture but no sound through the Hdmi lead.Ended up using the audio out ports(red and white) into a aux jack straight into the soundbar.That fixed it.
