One of my favorite songs, others may cover this song & mimic his incredible voice but they pale in comparison.
I’ve been a Gene Watson fan since the first time I heard “Love in the Hot Afternoon”, when he was just getting recognized as the great singer he is. And I would drive to San Antonio to see him at the Farmer’s Daughter. I recently took my wife to see him at The Post in Orange Grove Texas, and he was as great as as always. “Love in the Hot Afternoon”, and “Farewell Party” are two of my all time favorite songs and I can’t forget “Paper Rosie”, but Gene still has the best voice in music, and he’s a true gentleman.
