Many famous people sing our national anthem. Many put very little time into its preparation. They sing it very stock. The Crusaders prepared an excellent arrangement and all the members memorized their parts. Good going Crusaders! You made us proud, you displayed patriotism as it should be, I hope we can keep our patriotism and not let this current political administration (2024) take it away from us.
We played this version when we matched in the SuperDome
Great!
Great stuff!
Great year for DCI!
Excellent marching and playing! What drum corps should be all about.
How were flags weighted back then?
BABYLON❤ the best…cant wait for 24
Very nice
i turned 1 year old on this night 😂
Back when drum corps wasn't an amplified marching Broadway show.
but 1977 Bridgemen was, indeed, two of those things
and? nothing wrong with that. it's still just as impressive and fun.
@@jun3.bug.s Well, yes and no. Yes, my friends absolutely love modern drum corps. No, I don't enjoy modern drum corps except for 2023 Troopers and 2023 Cavaliers. The "uniforms" mostly look repulsive and are rarely consistent from year to year; there's far too many props; there's way too many tongued 16th note brass features; everyone is amplified up the wazoo regardless of whether they actually need it; synthesizers are used for WAY too many things, and the bass portion of the synthesizer is too loud! There's a saying, "Limitations breed creativity," and nothing demonstrates that better (in my opinion, at least) than previous generations of drum corps, even though most show designers of the time didn't appreciate those limitations. Now, what those limitations should be is a matter of preference. My favorite era is the early 2000s; they had consistent uniforms, no props (mostly), demanding yet in good taste brass features, no amplification--but front ensembles were much better than in 1982--, and no synthesizers. Alas, the DCI store ran out of 2000 and 2003 DVDs and CDs, and what's even worse is that no current competitive drum corps wants to produce a show that abides by the limitations of 2003.
@@jun3.bug.s (no, wait, there's more) I also enjoy the mid 2000s because although front ensemble was amplified, they did some cool things with it that I don't recall happening since. For instance, 04 Cavaliers had amplified snaps, 05 Cadets and Bluecoats had amplified drumspeak, 06 Capital Regiment had an amplified typewriter (compare this to 2017 Blue Stars, which just uses a synth sample) and some delightful happy singing, 06 Blue Devils amplified the bass portion of their marimbas to make them sound like synthesizers, 04 Blue Devils and 08 Troopers have the best train sounds bar none, and 07 Pacific Crest amplified a deck of cards to evoke the atmosphere of a Las Vegas casino. I love the police antics in 07 Bluecoats as well. BUT some experiments don't work. Most narration efforst come off as hillarious for the wrong reasons (04 Boston Crusaders, 05 Seattle Cascades, 05 Blue Devils) or are just plain obnoxious (06 and 07 and 08 Cadets, 07 Impulse, 07 Dutch Boy, and 07 Pacific Crest). Then there's 06 Crossmen, which tries to simulate the sound of a radio using the human voice alone, which shockingly almost works, but I think that show should've been done in 2009 or 2010 instead.
@@jun3.bug.s (even more) I also appreciate the early- and some of the mid-2010s because although it has synthesizers, it uses them to supplement the horns, drums, and mallet percussion rather than replace them. Further, amplified horn soloists are a thing, but they are only done when the horn soloist needs to be amplified, and amplification thankfully never extends to the entire ensemble. As an example, 2010 Blue Devils has multiple trumpet and baritone solos, but only one trumpet solo is amplified, that being when the entire ensemble is playing at fortissimo. Also, the lack of props helps the drill stand out, although things were starting to change for the worse on that front. Side Note 1: 1985 Boston Crusaders is a fascinating example of what might have been because it uses a synthesizer, and due to synthesizer technology of the time being less sophisticated than now, it makes for a genuinely awesome drum solo! I wish that one modern drum corps would ditch their sample-based synthesizers and experiment with simpler FM synthesizers, like the Yamaha PSS-470, which uses the YM3812 synthesizer chip (as seen in the Adlib soundcard for IBM PCs). Side Note 2: 09 Crossmen is a bit too synthesizer-happy for my liking.
Was Scotty Paulson once a drum major for the Kilties?
Still waiting for the break neck part...
Can someone please remaster this in 4K?
amazing sound picture quality
Comment 1: That rifle line is awesome! Comment 2: It's a shame that the original master audio tapes for the 1977 DCI Finals were lost.
It would have been cool to been around in person to see this. Cool.
I saw the kilties back in the hay day. Nothing today but the cavies snares last year and the troopers come even close!!!
Commandant should be court martialed for this woke crap
Y the fk arent they playing marine hyms and america the beaut. With other patriot music . HAIRSPRAY WTFKKKKK
I finally found it
what show is this?
Sounds better than when I did it in 1979 with Phantom!
Head and shoulders better than every other show that year!
Robert W. Smith did not come to Magic in 1990.....he started Magic in 1990......he was the God father of the Corps.......
All Hype don’t about how great you are. Show me.
Anyone knows why the contras are sitting on buckets in the arc?
6:50 lol
This sure isn’t anything like high school marching band!
You're next line is "The Blue Devils cheated"
Only saw the Kilties perform one time. The corps left an impression that remains with me to this day. Loved the entire performance. Great uniforms!!!!
every part of this that didnt include that insanely flat trumpet player farting around all over the place was incredible. How tf did that guy make it to this level?
Gives me chills
The Flying "V" still gives me goosebumps. And I can tell you it was still loud from snare line behind them as well!
Interesting style!
Phamton is better than all of them
They're ok but Cavaliers, Cadets way better
Thanks for your opinion but legitimately no one asked lol.
Literally who asked?
And now, in 2024; the only one left is... Jubal (in very compact form).
That's not Finals. That's the Alamodome. Dallas had a pre-season game there.
they never said it was
@@RyanKrebs518 The label says "2007 DCI World Championship Finals". ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I wish the directors in the truck would figure out how to shoot a DCI show properly.
Thank you so much! I think this should help me lead my section this year!
Because it’s so motivating, the Super Bowl will be in second place. They are definitely afraid of that happening
Scojo in the building
So excited to see this show! It's gonna be awesome! BLOO!!!!!!
Some of the best drill in history
so 2015 is when all these brass bands started to suck?
I enjoyed the music butninsurtion of commercials suck.
gatekeeping footage again😔
Devils cheat.. they pay off judges
Sounds like it would have been special to have actually been there.
