Danceable Grooves and rocking original tunes all rooted in a repertoire of Delta, Piedmont and Hill Country Blues all wrapped up in the spectacle of a One-Man Band. Deep Country Blues...Electrified!
I miss my good friend. John-Alex, you were the real thing. The Blues is poorer without you. RIP my friend.

I met John-Alex at Shuga's in Colorado Springs playing to three people when he was just starting out and spoke with him between sets. Hugely talented yet amazing humble, I was shocked by his untimely death and hope his music continues to reach a wider audience. Thank you for posting his performance.

I had the pleasure of getting to work with John during the release of Juke Joint Thunderclap. An amazing talent and a sorely missed member of the Manitou arts community.

I first heard him in Memphis in 2008. I followed someone who wanted to see him play. I was exhausted, my feet hurt and I didn't care anymore. I parked my rear end at the back of the bar where the seats were comfortable and I had a terrible view. Then he started to play. Within seconds, I was at the front of the stage, taking pictures. I heard him play, and I totally cared.

I requested John Alex Mason once at a pub here in Iceland, now a couple songs are regularly played, and when I see people dancing and jamming to his soulfully filled songs I get goosebumps every single time!
