Both sides of this are valid honestly 14 year olds will have amazing plot and story ideas but most are going to lack the writing and life experience to execute it properly for the masses. The agent may not have meant it in a rude way just a “lol I reread my work from that age and it was something” cause I’ve hella cringed at my old writing while also simultaneously stealing all my old ideas and rewriting them properly now

How many aura points did I lose when I would laugh after I told people my parents were dead and I just said I was laughing bc of the shock on their face but in reality it’s because if I don’t laugh I will break down and one time someone asked me how much money I got from them dying and then said can I have some of that money and said they wish one of their parents died so they would take in money?

I got my first actual hand-held book at nine!! it was a school assignment, though. I read back throughout after my second hand-held book at 10 years old in fifth grade, and realized how much I actually liked it! I remember when I was nine I had hated it and didn’t ever wanted to read it again, even throwing one copy in the trash 😅 The book was called Thorn My second book was called The Figure 2 - Old Bones I am currently writing two books right now One is called The Darkness of Everything, while the other is called the Shadows of Light(I might’ve changed it, I don’t remember, I only really focus on the actual story right now)

Ughh this feeling is terrible. I started my first big novel at 16. Now im nearly 25 and it has gradually turned from a single book to a 4 book series. Still not published, the struggle is real. But hey, you can always keeo trying. I now have six completed manuscripts, and i intend to keeo writing and keep trying until someone sees the potential in my stories. Keep at it, becoming an author is a hard road to walk!

When I did this same thing at 16 I was told by them “wanting a traditional publisher after not having self published first is delusional.” And tbh, they were right, but I’ll never understand why everyone in that industry has to be an asshole about everything. Also if I have to self publish before I can have a traditional publisher, might as well keep self publishing??
