I actually watched that B movie about clowns from outer space as a kid in the 80s. I was also a child when It first came out. Thankfully, I never equated all clowns with something to fear.

"Garfield would have survived had he received better medical treatment." Actually, Garfield would have survived if he had received no medical treatment. His wound became septic because of all the poking and prodding his doctor(s) did. Plenty of Civil War vets suffered wounds similar to his and walked around with the bullet still in them, surviving into old age. As far as the curse goes, it hasn't been broken yet. The curse was transferred through some unknown cosmic mechanism to my Detroit Lions. The Lions were one of the most successful NFL franchises of the 1950s, appearing in four championship games over six seasons, winning three of them. Then William Clay Ford became the soul owner of the team on November 22, 1963, the same day Kennedy met up with Lee Harvey in Dallas. Since that day the Lions have been the most downtrodden team in the league, a team until last season had only won one playoff game since the Eisenhower administration, a feat that is damn near impossible given the league's penchant for parity. But they did win two playoff games last season and the curse may be lifted, perhaps finally broken. And why not target Detroit. He took charge of the place during the War of 1812, that is until the Brits bailed on him and he had to give it back. Maybe he decided hey, killing presidents is getting old, let's change things up, why not mess with this bunch from my old stompin grounds. He got his revenge and for 60 years he was back in control in Detroit. Lesson learned kids, don't buy a sports team on the same day a president gets shot, the spirits just might see an opening.

I want to make a point that a lot of history lessons, even when talking about Columbus' crimes never bring up his dectractors or the fact that word got out to how he was treating people that there were calls of people who wanted to stop it. The general consensious is that 'everyone went along with it and agreed with it' so bringing up the people who knew shit was going on and tried to stop is brings up a whole new branch of discussion that would be interesting to talk about. I also didn't know the bit about Baptism which is VEEEERY interesting.

There is a pretty famous painting that depicts two lovers who are in the midst of being discovered with the focal point of one of them having a cloth around their wrist. This was apparently maent to symbolize that the lover was a Protistant and the target for execution if he were found with a Cahtolic. The lover is trying to untie the cloth as a means of protecting him but he refuses because he is not ashamed of his religion but within that he doesn't want to be seperated from his lover, meaning that he is going to die anyway for not betraying who he is.

These are the Basques. The most ancient people of Europe. This is a recreation of when they hunted Aurochs, the animals depicted in the Neanderthal cave paintings. Except, those were not Neanderthal paintings, those were done by the Basques. The border of the Neanderthals was south of the Ebro river. Just like people in north eastern Russia, who are Asiatic have an small instrument for Animal calls and one little whistle is the mammoth call, and it sounds sort of like an elephant like creature. San Fermin is a real Saint and the two different things got meshed together after some time, cultural historical, and religious. The Basques remember prehistory and modern history, they still hate Napoleon. No group has been able to destroy them. The Romans failed, the Germanic tribes failed, the muslims failed, although they have their own language not related to any on earth, they preseve it and they are the most Spaniard of Spain and are the reason Spain has survived since before Christ.

I didn’t know the aspca existed then, given the abuse of animals literally everywhere. How is a public execution not considered abuse or straight up insanity to want to watch, these are the good old days people are talking about.

  • @lcapito2402

This was honestly so screwed up even for the early 1900’s. Executing a poor animal that only acted that way because of the abuse she suffered is the most demented thing I’ve ever heard. To make matters even worse, they would willingly choose to take the life of the innocent creature rather than set it free where it belonged? This might be the most cruel and inhumane situation I have ever heard from an animal abuse story.

4th Illinois also captured a chest of gold and silver coins with the leg. How much gold and silver is a mystery. It supposedly went to Washington DC. Another account stated 4th Illinois turned it into higher headquarters. When it got to Washington DC Then what? No accountability, DC hasn’t changed much over the years. The chicken was cooking on the fire and wasn’t burned. For a one legged man Santa Anna was quick…
