I know this video is very old but there’s a few things you didn’t mention. When you go from one with it taper pin up to start fading do you keep that taper pin up for 2,3,4&5? Also, for the very top of your hair, is that buzzed with a number as well? Or do you have to get that professionally cut once in a while? Not sure if you’re still around but if you are thank you very much! Awesome job by the way.

Hey there! Thanks for watching! I generally keep the taper lever down for the 2,3,4, and 5. If I still notice a line between any of them, though, I will go back with the taper lever up. As far as the top, I would just go over it with an 8. I would avoid going from the very front to the back, since it will give kind of an odd shape to your front hairline.

If you have a lever on the clippers, use no guard with the lever open

Never could figure out why you do a fade. I use a 4mm straight through no fade required . Justcextra work im my estimation. After couple days you wont know the difference.

What I did is a mid fade, which is generally expected for Marines. You might be able to get away with a low fade, depending on how strict your SNCOs are. Some choose to go even higher. Aside from the military, anyone can cut their hair however they want.

I gave myself a haircut yesterday. I tried doing the guideline but it came out crooked for me. I said "screw it" and took off the guard of the clipper and gave myself an induction haircut (for those who don't know, it's the haircut that's given to the plebes in the Naval Academy), which is the easiest military haircut of them all --no fades, no tapers, no nothing to worry about--just shave off all the hair and follow the contour of the scalp. I'll wait 3 weeks for my hair to grow back, and I'll try giving myself a haircut as in the video. I just wanna see if I can master the fade.

important thing is how you delete bottom and above lines. If anybody can understand this, this can help anybody to cut his hair with fade easily.
