  Its the type of land metal detecorists would pay to spend a weekend. Hedges seem really old , lots of different species of trees etc, Hoopers rule' number of different types over 30 yards eq centuries, Something like that.

  Hi Mike, I have recently got into metal detecting and have a permission nearby this site. I need to confirm with the farmer. I’ve just been doing some old map research’s do saw the battlebury make for first time! I googled it and came across this video. Thank you for this! Fascinating.

  Hi Tom. Please let me know if you find anything. You may find a lot of bullet cartridges, but not too close to the mound itself. The fields nearby were used as a rifle range, but can't recollect whether WW1 or WW2. 😕 The archaeology dept of Somerset Council have never been helpful; pointing out what the mound is not. It's nothing to do with the plague, and nothing to do with the Civil War, or rebellions. There were, however public executions at Keward, on the south side of Wells, on the Glastonbury Road. The names of fields there are interesting; one ominously called "Burnt Stake". The site is unlikely to have any connection to Battlebury: too far away. from Keward. I would be most interested to hear how the metal detecting goes, mate, but I have no idea who the owner is. Tapping on doors of nearby farms is the only way, though the council might help. Good luck.   I´ve found that egg and holded it in my hand, full of awe. But I could also see the dove had dropped something that was quite heavy and it fell down into some bushes. I couldn't see what had fallen there. But it was not such a pleasant energy for me. I felt a bit uncomfortable. Later I found out that pigeons sometimes throw their young out of the nest. And something like that happened, almost literally, a few months later.

  Aside from her singing skills, can we please appreciate the songwriting? The lyrics are masterfully crafted, for example how the rhyming scheme in the first and second verse mirror and complement each other so well. So much great wordsmithing here. It's poetic without becoming obfuscated word salad lyrics.

  June 2022: For some reason, the video freezes for several minutes. The music continues, so it seems to have been deliberately visually frozen by KZread at that point for some reason, as it is not as I uploaded it. When this happened in the years since the upload I can't say. 😢
