    Resist the nostalgia. It is never like you remembered. I fell victim myself and had re-buy them at exorbitant rates (roughly $180 for the core books), and despite starting to re-read it on PDF prior to this, having it my hands, plus my players making characters that are going to get screwed, and also have features of the system I was hoping to gloss over as central to their character, I have been reminded too late that the primary reason I swore this off and sold my books was MENTAL LOAD. Being a parent kills brain cells, there are a hundred things I need to track with an ADHD kid and a cancer kid and elderly parents and an aging house and two aging cars and then to have players that don't know the system and builds that emphasize my least-liked parts of the system.... due to the expense I incurred for this and the parts I DO like, I keep circling back and ALMOST giving it a shot, which I guess is why I started watching this.

    I used the Storm Blades to torture my players. They would swoop in at the last moment to strike the killing blow and take credit while telling the party that they need to be more careful because the Storm Blades would not always be around to save them. Drove them crazy and made them laugh. I also made a poster for a celebration of the heroes of Cauldron featuring the Storm Blades and “others”!

    I picked up the starter set in 2018 and it did have a reversible map with Phandalin on one side and the region surrounding it on the other. Maybe it was a newer edition? That map got some mileage because I introduced 3 different groups to d&d using Lost Mines since then!

    1. I love Pawns, space and cost effective! 2. WHERE ARE THE PC PAWN SETS!!! You can't even find them on Ebay any more. 3. I saw Swarms for insects, bats and such. I was expecting to see TROOPS but didn't see them. Are we dropping those? 4. I was expecting to see more NEW artwork. Some of these look a little too familiar for my taste. I mean, it is a new revision. I went and paid for this... I suppose I should not complain because WotC Can't seem to get their act together since the PHB should have been out at the beginning of this year. So, Congratulations Paizo for getting it out when you did.

    Nice work. Got one myself. Love the Page and Book numbers. Would have liked a map on the Player Side (like the MidGard screen from Kobold Press- possibly the best screen I have ever seen), but the art is excellent! Also the Remaster Terms are very important for me. It's one of the only things that are new on this side of the screen. Kinda shocked that you didn't whip out the original PF2 (pre revision) and show them back to back.

    Absolutely beautiful book. I just received mine today from Noble Knight Games for a great price. For all of the people in the comments that are holding out for a big price drop, don't hold your breathe. I would guess they know this book is a bit niche, and for the price point and the quality of the book I can't imagine they printed a ton of them. I would expect this to become more expensive if you wait too long.

    Okay, I had no idea Starfinder went in this direction. You already know my passion for Battletech, so I'm interested. Full disclosure, since Starfinder came out I've thought about a Skittermander Mechanic whose drone is a mini-mech, though the rules didn't exist for that. The drone could operate normally or carry the PC. Dunno if that's viable. This Path is clearly Pacific Rim in nature, vs smaller mechs like in District 9, ED209 from Robocop, or even the Protomechs from Battletech.

    I fully expect to see those at the table when we next get together. To those who question Canadian dollars and why there are syringes in Pathfinder: - Using a different unit of measure creates context. Relax. Not everyone is American. - There are GUNS in Pathfinder. The concept of a syringe goes waaaaay back, so maybe chill there too. That Mirage Dragon looks absolutely baller, BTW.

    Thanks for the review. Despite having just bought the remastered rulebooks (I'm new to PF2e), I purchased the Advanced GM Screen instead despite it being 'outdated' as I found it's on-the-fly chart for creature stats invaluable for my style as a GM who loves to improv frequently.

    I'm surprised to find how little there is in this box, Free League boxed sets are usually so packed with goodies you're inclined do grab them and the core book. No initiative cards? Glossy character sheets are also an odd choice--so hard to update with pencil.

  • @DravenSwiftbow
    @DravenSwiftbow19 күн бұрын

    There isn't really Initiative in this game. You have Duels for 1 on 1 fights were both combatants roll for their attack as an opposed roll (on a tie both land a blow at the same time) Then there are brawls with groups facing each other. Brawls have 6 phases each round with NPC's declaring first and the PC's able to react to what they do. The rules in Walking Dead are more abstract than most of their other games.

  • @DravenSwiftbow
    @DravenSwiftbow19 күн бұрын

    The hardcover really does a great job tying the adventures together. My major piece of advice is to cut out Jzidarune (I doubt I spelled that correctly) from Life's Bazzar since it's 50ish rooms that are mostly empty with magic items that curse the players. You can always have rumours of it tempt the PC's to explore it later and you can fill it with monsters of your choosing if they want to go on a side quest.
