  I have just come off Silver Moon 19 to 26 July 2024. Solo traveller. The cooking and quality of food not good. Wine = Plonk. Many more negatives. One special server,butler good also cleaner of cabin. 6☆ , you have to be joking. Down to the rough towels in bathroom, the shower unit you can barely turn arround . Never Again! Top dollar for what? It's about time the expert vidoe experts on cruise travel, informed the public the actual truth . Some of these vidoes are just propaganda. One more thing, why do the people that put comments on these videos forget to put dates. All i come accross are 4 years old,year's old,what about 2024?

  @@luxurycruisetips I was booked on the one before yours , Mumbai to Singapore but the dates got altered because the ship was coming from the Mediterranean, via Red Sea , bab el mandeb .😳

  Hi Jack, we are doing this cruise next April, was wondering on your shore excursions if you had to use euro all the time or did the vendors give you the option to use a credit card? Thanks and was the water to high for the boat or to low that caused the delay? Good video👍

  Jason when I made purchases off the ship we used our credit cards the majority of time. I also had some euros for small purchases. I find most places in europe take cards of various types.

  On a seven day cruise, you get two free accesses to the speciality restaurants. So you can either go to both the Italian and the Asian or go twice to the Asian restaurant which is the only Nobu at sea. The third time you go, if there is availability, incurs a $50 charge, not $60. Their Nobu is far superior to the Nobu’s in either London or New York. Extraordinary. And the huge range of dishes would cost in excess of $150 a head on land excluding wine which is generous. The commentator fails to mention that there is a huge range of wine, cocktails, spirits and champagne provided without charge both in the restaurants and in the cabins.

  Thank you for your wonderful video. I’m taking Silversea Silver muse in January. One seasoned video expert commented that since Silversea was bought out by rccl you need to communicate all desired services upfront. Did you find this to be the case? Looking forward to no crowds, no nickel & diming, & top shelf customer service.

  Great question. We have always had good butlers and tipped. I don't recall if we had a fixed amount . There are others I have talked to that feel that they don't need to tip. As always tipping is optional.

  Great video. You didn't mention anything about Entertainment. Your thoughts? I recently sailed on Avalon and loved the Panoramic Suite. Avalon has something called a Panorama Bistro Menu for dinnertime. It's on the lounge level. It's great for dining a lighter meal and has most of the same dinner menu items served more like Tapas. Does Ama have this? Thanks !!!!

  I think the entertainment is pretty much the same. I was just on another AMA in May and they brought on local entertainment 4 nights of the cruise. Ama does not have a light dinner menu. They do have the TAPAS but not really dinner. But they have the Chefs Table which Avalon does not have. Ama does have a light lunch each day.

  I really like Indochine. If you ask your butler they will bring you caviar to your suite everyday. There is also caviar on the menu at atlantide. The grill is fun if the weather is nice. Recently I started asking the chef to cook our food for us. they did a much better job. Have a great cruise.

  The last cruise I was on they did have the Ambassadors. I think they also did have the dance teachers. I also noticed some of the dancers from the show we also providing dance lessons.

  Recently the butlers have been less proactive. I would just ask for some fun stuff from them upon boarding. if you like a certain brand of wine or drink just ask. Once they get to know you they are great! Have a great cruise.

  Weve been on two Avalon ships. Both had white tablecloths at dinner. I prefer the buffets, because I can have a wider variety of food each day.

  Those are queen, size beds, not king bed, and important distinction. You only have two plugs near the bed so if two people are using a CPAP or other electronic device you’re going to have to bring a non-surge protected outlet extender designed specifically for cruise ships.

  Who does train these butlers as they never seem to be correctly trained as butlers should be, and usually their clothes do not fit properly.
