    Guitarist sees person on stage with his fave guitar and IMMEDIATELY pulls out his own and goes into details about it. As a fellow guitar player, I approve of and participate in this behavior. I'm an old man who grew up in the 80's metal scene and my reaction when I first heard these incredible ladies ( about the same time it looks like you put this video out) my reaction was EXACTLY the same as yours. 😂😉😎 🤘😎🤘

    We know Zimmers Hole yep.. I was lucky enough to get to see Devin live (second of three times) back in the early 2000's for a triple bill gig which was Zimmers Hole/Devin Townsend Band/SYL.. I'm sure you can imagine what a night that was.. As for the ladies, I've been a confirmed Lovebites fan since 2018 when I first discovered them.. been in love ever since!

  • @Gavrev

    @@SmokeShowStudios It was in Bradford, UK at a venue called the Rio, back in March 2003. Awesome stuff! So many shades of awesome! Before that was SYL in Dec 2001 and a solo acoustic Devin experience in Nov 2011, both in the home city of Sheffield.

    The band buries it in the mix on purpose. I'm pretty sure that they turn the other instruments and Saiki's vocals up just a tad as well. They want every member to shine, not just Saiki. Pretty much every Maidiac loves every member. I'm not saying that's the only reason, but it helps a hell of a lot and gets the fans more engaged at their shows which only makes the fans like them even more.

    This is still my favorite song by them. When I 1st heard it, Matsuri's voice was so beautiful I cried. I have a couple times during this song, but it's her ability to convey emotion through song that made me fall in love with this band. They've been my favorite band since January of this year, saw them live in October and can't wait for them to come back to the US 🤘🏻🖤🤘🏻

    I love their diversity in sounds and they became one my favorite japanese bands as well, together with the band 陰陽座 (Onmyo-za). I can heavily recommend to check out their music video of their song 「愛する者よ、死に候え」 🔥 Fun fact, SAKI, one of NEMOPHILA's guitarists was probably influenced by that band since she covered a bunch of their songs

    Hettsu is sponsored by Ibanez. She mainly sticks to her brand new 4 string, metallic pink/purple model these days - can't remember the model number. I love the "Scooby-doo" moment in the elevator when they all just stop and wait for their floor.

    Who is their demographic? When I saw them a couple of weeks ago the crowd was eclectic. Younger then your normal metal show (I am 55) but still some us old warhorses but lots of younger fans. Metal fans, some Japanese oriented fans, a strong hardcore presence and everyone having a blast. Intense crowd with pits, wall of death and Yukina crowd surfing. She is tiny, I helped lift her back on stage and she is like 4’10” and felt like a feather.

    This was a Miyako composition when she was with A Drop of a Joker but held it and released on the Debut album Awakening from Abyss, the golden touch is a master in her song writing it one the main reason she is my all time favorite, but I do love them all.

  • @thesaturdaymorningcowboy4198
    @thesaturdaymorningcowboy41989 ай бұрын

    I can tell you why this didn’t sound like their usual fare and there was just one guitar solo. Liar is not an original Lovebites composition. It’s one that Miyako wrote while she was with an earlier band. She brought it with her when she hooked in with Lovebites. Great song!

  • @alekhidell
    @alekhidell9 ай бұрын

    Actually she said in a very recent tweet that her friend from “A Drop of Joker” wrote it - and scream for me. Not sure if she meant wrote and composed, but that was the term she used.

  • @Patrick_H.
    @Patrick_H.9 ай бұрын

    @@alekhidellMi-ya was talking about the lyrics, not the music. They have never released the identity of 'Dr U' who has the writing credits for 'Just a Liar' (original name with *a Drop of Joker* But, Miyako wrote the music - and gave the band a demo-track where she played all the parts, to give them an idea of what it should sound like. That's exactly how she still does it to this day with Lovebites. Mi-Ya doesn't just write a cool guitar riff to show to the other ladies - she gives them an entire Composition - for them to craft their *_own_* parts with their particular skill set. Miyako = Musical Genius

    Absolutely ushering metal into the next generation. F, they're rewriting the metal book of music for everyone to follow. It kills me to think how unknown they still are in the US, when their music is 💯 better than everything out there. Really hoping for an extended breakout US Tour after Prog Power in Atlanta. They would implode the US metal world if they did an invasion tour. Great reaction Smoke Show. 🤘
