    @@samheemsbergen8871 I notice on another comment you use a 12 inch bar so that’ll make a fair difference. I prefer using 14 inch. My very first saw over 20 years ago was a 12 inch 335xpt but soon opted for a Stihl and a 14 inch bar

  • @samheemsbergen8871

    @@charliemckellar yeah I’ve now got the 12” 1.1 0.43 so it’s a smaller bar and the light weight, also has a thinner chain so the saw doesn’t has to work as hard, I think having the right bar and chain makes a massive difference when using a batter saw 💪🏼 I like the 14” on the petrol top handles for sure 👌🏼

  • @samheemsbergen8871
    @samheemsbergen88714 ай бұрын

    This is the TC model and it’s about a year old, so not super new. One thing I would say that helps is change the bar, it came with a 3/8 1.3 .050 14” bar. I think this is too much for the battery saw. The husky t540i comes with a .325 bar which is narrower and takes smaller bits of wood, and that’s why I think every like it because it cuts faster and smoother. So what I’ve done is buy the stihl lightweight 12” bar and the size of this is 3/8 (the same) but it’s 1.1 .043 so it’s lighter, narrower and takes more bites. Similar too how the husky works, I find this makes it cut so much better and the battery last longer 🤙🏼 I’m running the 300s battery in this video but I have the 500s coming soon so that will make it last even longer! I think the main key is to have a really sharp chain, as soon as it get a little dull the saws performance goes down fast. Hope this helps 🤙🏼

  • @aerialrescuesolutions3277
    @aerialrescuesolutions32774 ай бұрын

    Great review. I always put a 12" bar, and the .043 chain has less drag than the .050 chain. They only offer chisel chains in the .050 though.@@samheemsbergen8871

    My favourite video! I have been climbing for about a year now i absolutely love wearing spikes during removal, however i found ascending From bottom to the top quite slow when using zigzag with friction saver. I have to keep pulling the slack in with one hand. I was thinking that if I use single rope with rope runner+ chest harness i could just climb the tree using both hands as rrp should keep removing the slack by it's own? Or could put the rope through both ascenders and just fly high, anyway that's the plan for 2024 . Switch to srt more often. I think moving rope system only works well on small to medium size trees, quick Jobs, utility jobs. But it's definitely slower on large trees and removals right?

    I lost a pin for the rope runner in the tree luckily I had a akimbo backup. But akimbo is not as smooth. Rope runner 3 needs to get rid of the pins also need a better top that does not dig in to your fingers and also a beefier connector with a swivel. And toolless rope adjustment.

    Yeah all those reasons are why I’m not a fan, I sold mine after 2 weeks of having it! Hi Jim , I don’t actually use this set up any more. I brought new climbing spikes and I just put my foot ascender over them and then the knee ascender I put on first then the spike on top 🤙🏼 This set up in the video I basically got a piece of webbing and put it through the foot ascender then burnt holes in it so when the spike was bolted down it went through the webbing and clamped it down. Then I put some elastic webbing around the top hole of the ascender and that went around the shank of the spur to hold it down but allowed it to move around a little when ascending. Hope that helps! I do have a pic of a set up I used last year on my instagram if you want to check that out 🤙🏼
