So I made some jumping spider enclosures using pop bottles and E6000 glue. But the glue smells horrible and takes forever to dry to the point it doesn't off-gas anymore. So in my head I was thinking plastic rivets, and then I was thinking 3d printed rivets! I initially thought of using the soldering iron but decided to google and I really liked your idea of using a hot glue gun as well as using pliers to put a fixed amount on the other side of the hole.

Hmm, when you cut out the pentagon in the plywood, I thought "very smart, she's going to assemble her very carefully cut strips of wood inside the frame, glue them up, and wedge-clamp them together." Buuuut you didn't go that route. Sad face :(

Barb, another trick that you can use when making blobs and jellies, is use either parchment paper or waxed paper. The parchment is best as it doesn't leave a residue on the bottom like waxed. The hot glue doesn't stick to them.

Have you tried using nitinol wire in order to replace the motors and make it more compact while having smoother movements? I'm trying to find inspiration for a project I consider doing sometime later on.
