Reedology

I've made this channel as a sort of archive for our facebook page. I'll upload Jerry Reed songs that aren't on KZread already, videos I've made for the Snowman's Run To Benefit Wounded Veterans, and random Jerry Reed videos that I've acquired over the years. ~ IronDuke

I think that this is from the '82 Special "Jerry Reed and Friends", given that he's wearing the same yellow hat in a few other clips.

This album was released March 1, 1979. George Benson's jazz guitar playing obtained a #7 hit with "On Broadway" which came out in 1978. I wonder if jerry was taken with George Benson's sound (as almost everybody was , from all walks of life). I wonder if jamming along with George Benson created this train of thought we are listening to here...

0:52 this must have been around the gulf war.... (or 9/11... but i think this video quality/jerrys age looks closer to 1991 than 2001) . but when he says "put idiots like me in it"....... the crowd kinda boos "HOW DARE YOU CALL FIGHTER PILOTS IDIOTS!!!!!" . idk... i know a few fighter pilots..... some from the 50s/60s.... some from the 90s/00s they ALL would have laughed their asses off at that . . ive driven a car 500,000 miles or more in my life time yet im still an idiot behind the wheel sometimes........ . fighter pilots ARE!!! big ego, yet humble.... very smart, yet just a kid at heart.... ETC ETC . ya dont WANT to strap yourself into a rocket like the F15 (more than 1/1 thrust weight ratio.... THATS A ROCKET!!!) with out having that "little kid mentality" of "i wanna fly a rocket ship and shoot down UFOs" type energy

He met Priscilla the last 2 months in Germany when he was in the service, and he did so with her parents’ consent. He spoke on the phone with her until she was 17, when her parents consented on her moving to the US and staying with Elvis’s father and stepmother to finish high school. After, she moved in with him, but per Priscilla, there was no sex until after they were married, which was when she was almost 22. She wanted to before but Elvis said no.

It was from a interview program that did not look to have been done by a professional crew with Elvis' friend George Klein as the host. It must have been recorded somewhere around the early to mid eighties. If I remember correctly (I have it on VHS somewhere in the house, LOL) other people that were interviewed were Vester Presley, one of Elvis' aunts (not Delta, but from the Smith side of the family), Felton Jarvis, Jerry Shilling, Wink Martindale, Ginger Alden, those are the people I remember, vaguely.

Jerry Reed was a jerk in 1995 at a Casino in Iowa.. was the Headliner..but they threw him off the casino for grabbing the cocktail waitress I worked there and saw it all..he wore a hoodie so no one could see his face before he went on stage..and never give autographs..

Love that rig! I think it would be so fun to do the Bandit Run with Snowman and of course old Fred. I would’ve loved to have met Jerry. I love the photos in The Alabama Music Hall of Fame of his time recording here. Every time a private jet goes over my house I wonder who’s coming to record. I enjoy your channel a lot.
