Is it strictly for people that are horse back riding?
There is a horse camp area here, but you can also drive and/or hike-on-foot to the lakes.
Do you have to pay to camp here? Or make reservations?
No, this was dispersed camping in the National Forest, so it was free :)

I think it would be very helpful, as well as informative especially for those who might wish to follow in your steps, and I'm sure it would be well appreciated by your viewers, for you to mention what time of year this was, maybe give the routes you had taken, and to give the names of the campsites or areas you visited when possible. Nice video. Peace!
Thank you @Doug Overhoff! We've actually captured the trip details in the blog linked in the description, let us know if any additional information would be helpful as well :)
Wait is that silver queen never seen it without snow
Yes it is! We were there in early-June last year, there were some snow banks near the summit.
@@Pathloom I was just there in February visit it once every year
@@mrgizmo7190 that's amazing, I can't imagine what it looks like covered in snow!
Another awesome video! That scenery looks beautiful! Me and my pup Lola do tons of overland camping out of my f350! You'll have to check it out on my channel! Keep up with the awesome videos man!
@Taylor VanBeek, thank you so much! Subscribed to your channel as well, looking forward to checking out your adventures :)
didnt walk down to alamere falls???
We did, it was just very crowded so didn't take any good pictures
Good morning, Like,so awesome -mr- )
Interested in making this trip with minimal snow. Did your car get stuck because of snow or because of you stopping in snow? Will I be okay in my Subaru with stock tires? Thanks for the amazing video
@allyoucaneat Thanks, it's great to hear you enjoyed the video and are looking to make a trip out there yourself! My car got stuck because the snow was too deep, and I bottomed-out in that section. Also, the ground had a sheet of ice, so I had no traction. Hence needed to dig snow and pull myself out with a tow strap tied to the Jeep in the morning. If you're planning the trip after May, you should have no snow and in fact, it'll be on the hotter and drier side. You may want to take a look at some of the other snow car camping trips like the Eldorado National Forest trip: www.pathloom.com/post/trip-report-eldorado-national-forest-california Hope this helps and hope you have a wonderful time out there!
love this style !!
Thanks Arian! Appreciate all your support, always 😃❤️
Good day!like it~ what a unusual - all the best. Pathloomm!
Thanks for your comment and for the support! 😁
When exactly did u take the trip? I wanna go but not when there is that much snow
We took this trip in April of this year. The snow storm came out of nowhere, and it typically doesn't snow around that time of the year. However, the roads at higher elevations (6,000 ft and above) typically still have packed snow on the roads in the forest in April. By late May-June, most of the snow melts away.
@@Pathloom thanks. I wanted to camp out there in late march but it might be too cold for the kids. So maybe early june we will go
@@crazyedd707 Yes, that's a beautiful time to get into the forest :)
Nice video! Let us know when you're getting the Android app!
Absolutely! Thanks for the support 😄
Pretty cool video man.. Nice views.
Thanks so much! It was a great trip 😀
@@Pathloom fosho looks it that's cool
How does driving those dirt roads work when it looks like there is only room for 1 car?
They are mostly single-lane dirt roads, so often when there is oncoming traffic, cars have to make room for each other to pass.
Thats really cool man! Im leaving OR and looking to head to Cali for a week of outdoor fun! Any particularly amazing views in the national forests to hit for stargazing or maybe just all around awesome views?
That's great to hear, hope you have a fun trip down! There are some great dark sites the deeper you go into the forest. Plaskett Meadows is one of the higher elevation areas in the forest and offers spectacular views for stargazing.
Can't wait to head out to East Bay to check this out!
Let us know when you do!
Awesome guide and video, thanks for sharing!
Absolutely - let us know when you give the trail a shot!
Trying to go to Letts Lake Campground. Looks like the forest roads are pretty tamed? Have a rav4 awd with road tires(usually air down) should be fine to get there yea?
@FirstGlance, that's great! Yes, the road to Letts Lake is unpaved packed dirt roads - with your Rav4, you'll be just fine. The roads are quite narrow and steep, so just go slow and be cautious of oncoming traffic, especially trailers. Hope you have a great time out there!
Wow Great !!!
Thanks for this! I am heading out to MNF (From southern CA) in July (total newbie at all of it) and so I am doing my research on youtube, lol. I'll be on the East side so I am looking for dispersed camping areas off the M10 and FH7. Looks like you guys had a blast. I subscribed as I hope to make this trip again.
By the way, was this trip taken recently?
@@brinselyseven5530 Yes! This trip was about a month ago. So glad you are heading out there, it's an amazing area. You should have warmer weather than us but definitely be prepared for anything! Let us know if you have any questions and hope you have an incredible trip 😄
Great !!!
