The Bible is the big book of claims based on Iron and Bronze Age mythologies and fairy tales, that have been changed, altered, and modified over thousands of years to suit the psychological and emotional needs of the people at that time. It's not about truth, it's more about feelings.
Why not? Exactly zero children have ever been assaulted at any drag queen story hour event, since its inception, over a decade ago go. Can the same be said for the church? Nope.
just a quick reminder that the first amendment conflicts with the first commandment "thou shalt worship whoever you want" and that the declaration of human rights gives ME more rights than god. and a history lesson cos the USA is a secular nation, not many people seem to know that, and the founding fathers were at best deists and certainly not christian. hitchens became a naturalised american purely because of the constitution. the UK is officially christian, the US is officially secular. is it annoying that the satanic temple has the SAME RIGHTS as the church?
on the one hand we have a god who is sophisticated enough to create a universe using the intricacies of physics, chemistry, biology and quantum mechanics, a universe that is finely tuned to one part in zillions, with humans designed to have the most microscopic of biological machines to regulate the workings of their bodies, not to mention the uncountable operations our brain carries out every moment, and the complexities of consciousness, but you want me to believe that his person also thought nailing his son to a tree was a good idea. religists are crazy people.
it's not really any of your business what people do with their lives is it? you wonder why the churches are empty, it's YOU. you preach love and practice hate, no one is interested in being part of the bigots club. funny how you know exactly what god wants until you need to say "no one can comprehend the mind of god" what a lot of piffle.
@HarryNicNicholas, thank you for sharing your opinion. We always invite those who disagree or have a differing opinion. Could you please specifically identify which statement(s) we made that may have offended you. First of all I agree, it's not our business what other people do in their lives. So, how are we getting involved in other peoples lives? Please be more specific because our only desire is that people examine THEIR OWN lives privately, in the light of God’s word. Definitely not in the light of our opinion. Second, can you give an example of how we practice hate? Because if that's true then we need to personally change our lives in order to be pleasing to God. And again, please be specific. And third, why do you think we know exactly what God wants? We're trying to understand what he wants by studying what he revealed in his Word. And then we discuss it with others so we don't misunderstand what God has revealed. But we also hope that it will help others in their struggles in life, as it has helped each of us. If we have said something that God has never said in his Word I hope that you would be specific, rather than speaking in generalities, and bring it to our attention so we can make corrections if necessary. Thank you for your comment. Drew De Grado BibleQuest, Thursday Edition
catholics are drag queens aren't they? what is it with god and hats anyway, you have to have a hat to show which version of pretend god you are affiliated with, do you fail the heaven test if you have the wrong hat? i think religion is incredibly stupid. the real puzzle is god doesn't seem the least bothered by shoes. what's this channel for? no likes and my dislike, 20 views? vanity?
12 minutes is way too brief for any meaningful discussion. Please seek expanded time?? Thanks!
@jjo5375 you are right. Not enough time for such a discussion. Which is why we plan to continue this discussion next week with Part 2. We just started the Thursday BibleQuest and we're most likely going to see more time spent on the different topics. Thank you for watching and I hope you will become a follower and subscribe to our channel which helps with our ratings.
Thank you for all of your great lessons!
Praise God it's helpful!
thanks guys
We pray it's helpful! God is good.
@@bible-quest it is i have gotten out of the habit of watching... but these last few months i have started watching again... good work guys!
The problem I see with leaning to much on newly found older manuscripts is it may have survived because there was more mistakes than the correct one that god copied and copied until it wore out. I feel like the most correct older manuscripts cant survive but will be copied through out time.
I appreciate your concern for accuracy in the manuscripts. One helpful thing to remember: the manuscript evidence isn't really a chain of links to the past, but more like a web. The manuscripts weren't copied once but many times. All the available copies are consulted, not merely the last one made. There is a lot of opportunity to check the accuracy of the text across the copies made over the centuries. There are variants and mistakes, but we can see where they are.
Thanks guys!
Helpful study guys
Helpful study guys thanks
Thanks guys this has been a helpful study
Good study guys!
The problem with baptism is simply this: You guys can't even agree whether it's dip, drip, dunk, or dry clean. How am I supposed to believe anything else?
We become acquainted with ...the FATHER, ALMIGHTY GOD, in the Old Testament, and the many roles of a 'father.' A Father Who acts in His ways because He LOVES us.

thanks Guys, looking forward to next week
Blessings. How can I long on on Tues? GB
Hey guys Chip here!
We have ZERO eye-witness accounts of a Jesus after death. And even if we did, personal testimony is the least effective evidence. Let me tell you something: *Bereavement hallucinations* are a REAL thing. I had them after my husband died. He would appear in front me big as life. I could "hear" him talking. Since I'm not a mindless dolt, I realized that this was tricks my mind was playing on me as I processed everything that had happened. He had struggled through a painful, stressful dying process, and I was exhausted, broke, and wondering where I was going to live now that our home was in foreclosure. Once those things worked themselves out, the "appearances" went away.
Thank you for this discussion. I needed to hear this. It is a good reminder for people of any age to be careful about what we are allowing our minds to take in and how we are focusing our time.
This is awesome 👏
I don’t believe that a politician would “save” America. I believe as the salt of the earth my goal is to use or pick a candidate that would at at the least allow us the freedom to share the gospel. Although I question if many Christians actually use that freedom for that, considering the church in China is growing more rapidly than here. Very good lesson and thoughts.
Raffaele, Thank you for your comment and for listening to our Bible discussion on this matter.
Records events that really happened in certain locations? So does Harry Potter. So does "A Tale of Two Cities" which actually HAS verifiable historic corroboration. Jericho was a nearly abandoned outpost at the time of the walls supposedly trumpeted down (which begs the whole Rahab story if you think about it since her house was supposedly built into the wall.....) Arimathea - no record of such a place whatsoever.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and respond. I’ll try to be brief. Please note what we said at about 2:24. A historical setting doesn’t prove that events happened, but it does prove that they could have happened. Granted, many authors write fantasy stories with real settings, but I don’t imagine you’re arguing for the historical events of The Deathly Hallows. J. K. Rowling certainly isn’t making that claim, nor did Charles Dickens. The writers of the Bible did, however, and its first audience considered it as historically accurate, too, though they were in a much better position to refute it and might have wanted to. It often speaks poorly of them (the Israelite people). That is, it passes the criterion of embarrassment. The location of ancient Arimathea is currently unknown. This isn’t unusual. Ninevah wasn’t unearthed until 1847. Susa was identified in 1851. Bethsaida may have recently been discovered, but nothing can be nailed down. Simply because we don’t know where a thing happened doesn’t mean we can say the place didn’t exist or that the event didn’t occur. You might find the following article interesting: www.smithsonianmag.com/history/archaeological-dig-reignites-debate-old-testament-historical-accuracy-180979011/ It’s about re-examining our biases for or against the Bible based on the constant uncovering of new evidence. The last paragraph states this: “What Ben-Yosef has produced isn’t an argument for or against the historical accuracy of the Bible but a critique of his own profession. Archaeology, he argues, has overstated its authority. Entire kingdoms could exist under our noses, and archaeologists would never find a trace. Timna is an anomaly that throws into relief the limits of what we can know. The treasure of the ancient mines, it turns out, is humility.” As for Jericho, I’ll point to a source that probably doesn’t care one way or the other about the Bible being accurate: The New York Times. www.nytimes.com/1990/02/22/world/believers-score-in-battle-over-the-battle-of-jericho.html We’re talking about a difference of a couple of hundred years in our interpretation of events that happened 3000 years ago. We need to be humble about these sorts of things.
@TravisWitherington we did have a digital online version of Scott's "4 Question Survey" in the past. I will dig into our archives to see if I can make it live again. I'll get back to you one way or another. Thanks for watch and for your request.
It's always curious that these cultists need techniques to teach their religion. If it was what they claim, they should be able to just hand someone a bible. But they know they can't since the person might not agree with them, so they have to make sure that only their version of this nonsense is accepted.
Hi, @velkyn1. Thanks for the response. You’re more or less correct-though perhaps not as you intended. It’s true that an honest heart can pick up a Bible and learn what they need to know God and be saved. We’ve often done just that-simply hand someone a Bible! However, we don’t expect children to pick up wooden blocks and learn algebra and geometry on their own, nor do we ask the uneducated to look at green leaves for a long time to deduce photosynthesis, nor the untrained to pick up a socket wrench and service an internal combustion engine. Given enough time and practice, most of us could each discover the information and learn the skill, but instead of going at it alone, we seek out guides who’ve studied and practiced themselves. That’s what we’re hoping to do. If you have a specific question, we’d be happy to consider it with you in light of God’s word!
@@bible-quest As always, the christian tries to lie and claim that only they have "honest hearts" and that only those who agree with them have "honest hearts". This is nothing new, and simply an excuse invented to try to hide that their bible doesn't work in the way they try to lie it does. Unsurprisingly, each version of christianity has to teach children and others their particular version, no one just comes up with it on their own. And these versions do hate each other, insisting they are heretics, satantists, etc. Bible-quest is just one more christian shilling for their version which is no more true than the next. All christians do is learn from other christians, no god involved. I was a christian, b-q. I've also read the bible. Why would I think you could answer a question on what is the "right" version of Christianity since not one of these versions can support that claim?
Love the 4 question Street Survey. Do you have a link to that Scott? I think it would be a good conversation starter.
This was a very helpful discussion. Thank you. I will recommend this discussion to my teen class. We're studying "How to become a Christian", and some have already asked, "what about after eye Christians."

My understanding based on scripture, custom and language is that women in there excitement were speaking in the assembly asking questions disrupting the assembly. Now the QUESTION is...did Eve's susceptibility to Satan's deception have something to do with Paul's teaching? And I don't agree with the whole fairness baloney
Sorry to admit it, but I'm confused by how the topic of women speaking in assembly is to be dealt with. Y'all say GOD says, they are not to speak out in authority, but you also say they 'can' be teachers i.e. classroom settings, and...as in Exton, women speak out at every bible study where men and women are present. They offer opinions and comments which are incorporated into the lesson du jour. I have no problem with women being silent per the Scriptures. Period. But then there are these readily accepted exceptions present and unquestioned, and, in fact, solicited. I don't know if you want to revisit this again, but I'm not comprehending a solid answer. : / I saw this new report online and mentally applauded the action of those standing by GOD, and not 'today's' liberal interpretation of the bible. God says don't associate with those who deliberately disobey Him. They took a very unpopular stand re: female pastors....and I was very proud of them.
There will be no Bible Quest today, May 30.
Thank you, gentlemen.
Thank you, Gentlemen. : )
Thanks joining in!

Thank you so much!
Thanks Dan! I love this. Glenda
How are you comparing "addictions" of lying, porno, and stealing to PHYSICAL addictions like drinking and opioid addiction. The withdrawal symptoms listed here ARE the more mild withdrawal symptoms. If you quit cold turkey without medical treatment and/or weaning and monitoring, a person can have DEADLY SEIZURES, become extremely vitamin defficant and dehydrated from throwing up and become really weak and not be able to care for themselves for a week and may even choke on their vomit. Really bad things can happen and I don't want someone with a severe physical addiction to look at this and quit cold turkey. Please educate yourself completely before giving advice. I am only saying this so no one gets hurt.. Thank you.
You all need to come visit Fairlawn....
Such a great study. Will share with others. Plus you had my cracking up about these animals
You lads of the Lord have explained several things in this important discussion. God bless each of you! : )
(argument for): Its MY body...so its MY choice! (argument against): The baby is a living human being, and MURDER if destroyed/aborted.
Wow! That was the most intelligent, comprehensive, and scripturally based discussion on this topic I've ever heard, or will likely hear again...our society being what it is! Thank you. I have a deeper understanding of these things now, because of this program. I fear for our future as sin doesn't decrease...on the contrary, it escalates, and in this case, to a most ugly plane. I wish your examination of the topic could have a far wider viewership. (I almost didn't watch due to its title, but glad I did). : /
The replay only had 4:53 mins. (?!) : /
2 good discussions. Thanks, gentlemen! : )
My first word association for 'Fellowship' is ....people. Next is what Christians mean to and for each other, because of our love of God. Last is ALL Christians' relationship with God and He with us. [Not least in importance...but in the progression in 'my' mind. Me to you, and us to Him].
Jesus disregarded 'leaders' and 'people in high places;' I think He would walk into crowds, talk to people in the streets, and have impromptu speaking/preaching sessions any place that was available to Him. Possibly tv, as covered by journalists, as they always do when some 'event' has occurred...and play that on tv. I' not sure about formally booked tv shows. I think He'd let 'them' TRY to catch up with 'Him!' lol. In fact, He 'might' suddenly appear, or disappear in the world. : )
Really loved this because Jesus really came for those who would obey and listen. Those tax collectors and prostitutes where considered the least of them. But Jesus he knew their hearts.
Hello! (but I'm not sure if this is 'live' or this is a replay (???)
