  Isn’t the reason you don’t regularly see judokas in mma is because the IJF forbids practitioners from participating in other martial arts simultaneously with judo?

  @@ricosuavemente571 Hmm I'm not too sure on this however most Judokas that we've worked with did mention they're only transitioning fully into MMA once they've completely stopped judo.

  @@qrs_group yeah okay that may actually be a thing then because I heard that from someone before but wasn’t sure how accurate that was. I guess more of a way to like retain practitioners. I know some of the guys I train with that were competitive amateur boxers before getting into mma pretty much alluded to something similar like a conflict of interest and pressure to focus on one or the other from coaches. It might just be like purist thing too.

  For an experienced judoka as an opponent, the execution would be problematic. Under no circumstances should you hollow back (chest and gaze to the sky), otherwise you will be countered backwards. It is important to get your center of gravity under your opponent. Judokas therefore often perform a drop-seioi-nage from the knees.
