WOW, that's nearly $300 per hour in my currency, that is a joke. I had a issue a bit similar on my Nuda 900, the bike would start, but after 1 min the dash board would do weird things and the engine management light would come on. The bike would run fine, but when I turned it off, it would not turn back on, completely dead as it was blowing the fuse for the engine management. I eventually found that the number plate light was on the same fuse as the engine management, and the wire to the light was arcing internally, due to it popping out of a plastic clamp. I was happy when I fixed it.

hey mate, i have a 2013 street triple (15k on the clock) and thought id point out some other faults to keep an eye out for as ive had every problem under the sun with mine, main one is the regulator rectifier, mine was pumping around 15v at idle into the bike. a symptom of this was a jerky pull away and very faint flickering of the lights. this ended up blowing my battery, fuses and my bulbs, can be replaced for an upgraded one. another fault is the hot start problem, it would simulate a flat battery after turning the bike off once its hot, would take 20/30 mins before i would be able to start the bike again, this was the starter motor. again can buy an upgraded one. an interesting fault which took me a good couple of weeks to find was an oil leak, no obvious commons places for the leak, turns out it was from the oil pressure sensor. it was faulty and caused oil to leak through the sensor, this is located behind the head near the starter motor i hope you dont have any of these faults but thought id share my solutions incase you do oh and my steering lock randomly stopped working, havnt fixed that one

Yeah, something similar happened to me. There is actually a plastic bracket, holding the cables to the frame (don't know why it's missing on your bike) Maybe you ripped it out when you jerked it? The bracket has pretty sharp edges and it ate trough my wiring. I just cut all the damaged cables, soldered them together (with shrink tubing of course) and wrapped everything in tesa 4600 extreme. It's a water tight, high pressure resistant tape, which basically welds to itself within 24 hours and and crates a tight seal. Has been like this for over a year without any issues, including rain rides and pressure washing. When so many fuses blow, it usually has a reason. So it's always good to search for that reason before you replace the fuses and attempt to start the bike. You could potentially cause more damage, but at least blow the new fuses when you turn the bars and short it yet again. Glad your bike is running. Ride safe!

I sell helmets and gear for a living. You made a good choice whith the gear. I a couple of years when you are in need of a new helmet, have a look at hjc as well there quality is really good, or a shoei if you are willing to spend some more. Here in amsterdam i can also customize the inside of shoei helmets, we are the second country in the world next to japan that do this for consumers. Enjoy your new bike and gear mate 💪😎
